Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Premier League match between Burnley and Southampton at Turf Moor.
Burnley and Southampton go into half-time goalless. The away side dominated for big parts of the first half and had the best chance early on as Ings was left one-on-one with Heaton, but the keeper made a brilliant save to deny him. Burnley did have a good opportunity following a corner with both Cork and Barnes coming close to finding the back of the net, but the Southampton defenders made important blocks to keep themselves level.
If Southampton continue to play the way they did in the first half, then they stand a good chance of putting themselves ahead as they got themselves into some dangerous positions. If Burnley get an early goal in the second half, then they could turn the game in their favour.
That result doesn't change anything for either side in the table as Burnley remain in 17th with Southampton one place ahead, still level on points. Burnley's unbeaten run is now extended to six matches though, something they will be keen to continue when they face Brighton next Saturday. It also means that Southampton are still yet to lose a Premier League game in 2019 as they look ahead to their game against Cardiff next weekend.
