Tottenham bounced back from their defeat in the north London derby with a comfortable 3-1 win over Southampton at Wembley. Spurs are in contention for the Premier League crown as Manchester City's defeat at the hands of Chelsea has opened up the race at the top of the table, proving that Pep Guardiola's men are not unbeatable. Mauricio Pochettino's side have to keep winning to keep pace with City and Liverpool, beginning with tough matches like this one against the Foxes on the road.
Son Heung-min's strike on the stroke of half time has handed Tottenham the lead against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. Spurs had a slow start to the game, but gradually found their rhythm as Dele Alli took control of the contest. He had a couple of near-misses inside the box before Son was afforded space and time on the edge of the box to curl a left-footed effort into the top corner.
The Foxes have lacked a threat at the other end of the pitch without the presence of Jamie Vardy, which could force Claude Puel into changes. Kelechi Iheanacho has been disappointing leading the line, failing to provide the threat to the Tottenham backline. Mauricio Pochettino will be looking for his team to secure the three points without having to bring Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen on from the bench.
Next up for Tottenham is their crunch Champions League contest against Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Tuesday. Leicester City are next in action against Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Selhurst Park next week.
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
