Swansea last appeared in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup in the 1963/64 season when they progressed to the last four of the competition, only to be beaten by Preston at Villa Park.
Swansea are unbeaten in their last nine matches in all competitions, highlighting their resurgence under Carvalhal. The Portuguese has been responsible for the club shifting from the bottom of the Premier League, giving them a real opportunity to beat the drop. They've needed replays twice to advance to the fifth round, overcoming Wolves and Notts County, putting eight goals past the latter in their contest last week.
Under new manager Jos Lukukay, Wednesday have managed to pull away from the relegation zone in the Championship. They've beaten Carlisle United and Reading to reach this stage of the competition, and come into the contest fresh off an important week during the week over Derby County. The Owls will be looking to channel their momentum into progressing into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup for the first time in 21 years.
Carlos Carvalhal returns to Hillsborough six weeks removed from being sacked by Wednesday. With the Owls falling towards the relegation zone in the Championship, Carvalhal left the club by mutual consent. He was not out of work long as he replaced Paul Clement at Swansea and has enjoyed success guiding the Welsh outfit out of the bottom three of the Premier League.
