Hello and welcome to this live commentary for the Premier League fixture between Crystal Palace and Everton from Selhurst Park.
As the Premier League season heads towards the final straight, the tension at the bottom of the table continues to mount. Palace, though, are one of the teams who have eased concerns over their league status following the return of Roy Hodgson. The veteran manager has guided Palace to three straight wins and they now sit in 12th place and, crucially, nine points clear of the relegation zone.
Everton, meanwhile, remain in the thick of the relegation scrap despite their midseason move to bring in Sean Dyche. The Toffees have won just three league games under his tenure and are winless in their last four games. They currently reside in 17th place but are level on points with Nottingham Forest in 18th. A huge away victory today would move the Merseyside side up to 16th after Leeds' defeat earlier on Saturday against Fulham.
CRYSTAL PALACE SUBS: Luka Milivojevic, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Will Hughes, Jairo Riedewald, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Vicente Guaita, James Tomkins, James McArthur, Chris Richards.
CRYSTAL PALACE (4-3-3): Sam Johnstone; Joel Ward, Joachim Andersen, Marc Guehi, Tyrick Mitchell; Eberechi Eze, Cheick Doucoure, Jeffrey Schlupp; Michael Olise, Odsonne Edouard, Jordan Ayew.
EVERTON SUBS: Ben Godfrey, Ellis Simms, Andy Lonergan, Asmir Begovic, Nathan Patterson, Conor Coady, Neal Maupay, Yerry Minam, Tom Davies.
EVERTON (4-4-2): Jordan Pickford; Mason Holgate, Michael Keane, James Tarkowski, Vitalii Mykolenko; Alex Iwobi, James Garner, Idrissa Gueye, Dwight McNeil; Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Demarai Gray.
Dyche, however, makes two changes from Everton's 3-1 defeat against Fulham. Calvert-Lewin returns from injury to replace Maupay up front while Holgate replaces Godfrey at right-back.
Crystal Palace have won just one of their last 16 Premier League games against Everton (D7 L8), though it did come in this exact fixture last season (3-1).
Everton ended that first half with five shots on target and Dyche will no doubt be encouraged by that. Palace faded towards the end of that first half and Everton must now press on and try to find that crucial opening goal. Hodgson will no doubt be seeking a greater deal of control from his Palace side in the second period as they look for their fourth win on the bounce.
That is all for today - thanks for tuning in!
Palace are back in Premier League action on Tuesday as they travel to face Wolves. Everton, meanwhile, host Newcastle next on Friday.
