Sheffield United get the game underway at Bramall Lane!
Hello and welcome to the live commentary of the FA Cup fifth round fixture between Sheffield United and Tottenham.
Sheffield United are flying high in the Championship despite a patchy run of late, but will be focusing on a tough test in the cup today. Paul Heckingbottom’s side beat non-league Wrexham 3-1 in the fourth round replay after the initial tie finished 3-3. The Blades have been prolific in front of goal this season, with only Burnley and Middlesbrough outscoring them in the league so far. Iliman Ndiaye, who featured for Senegal at the World Cup in December, has scored 10 times and picked up seven assists for his team in the league.
After a first leg loss to Milan at the San Siro in the Champions League, Tottenham have shown they are not giving up on their season after back-to-back London derby victories. Their win over the Blues was particularly important as they had not beaten their rivals in 13 competitive matches dating back to 2019. Spurs have had a fairly easy route to this stage, beating Portsmouth and Preston in the earlier rounds. Manager Antonio Conte is yet to return to the touchline as he recovers from surgery.
Sheffield United (3-5-2): Wes Foderingham; Anel Ahmedhodzic, Chris Basham, Jack Robinson; George Baldock, Tommy Doyle, Andre Brooks, Ismaila Coulibaly, Ben Osborn; Billy Sharp, James McAtee.
SUBS: Adam Davies, John Fleck, Sander Berge, Oliver McBurnie, Max Lowe, Oliver Norwood, Iliman Ndiaye, Daniel Jebbison, Sai Sachdev.
Tottenham (3-4-3): Fraser Forster; Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, Ben Davies; Pedro Porro, Pape Sarr, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Ivan Perisic; Lucas Moura, Richarlison, Heung-min Son.
SUBS: Brandon Austin, Oliver Skipp, Harry Kane, Arnaut Danjuma, Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Japhet Tanganga, Clement Lenglet, Alfie Devine.
The players are making their way out of the tunnel and onto the pitch!
With extra time and penalties a possibility in today's match, both teams will have to make a decision of how much they want to risk in the second half. With Sheffield pushing for promotion and Tottenham batting in the league and Champions League, neither side will want this game to go the distance.
The defeat for Tottenham means that they are probably heading for another trophyless season while Sheffield could add a historic FA Cup to a potential promotion back to the Premier League. Heckingbottom's side will play Blackburn in the quarter-finals at home while Tottenham turn their attention back to the league, traveling to Wolves for their next game.
