Hello and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Leicester City and Arsenal.
Leicester will look to bounce back from their 3-0 loss to Manchester United and further the points gap between themselves and the relegation zone. Four points above the drop, the Foxes picked up seven points from their previous three games before being thrashed at Old Trafford, drawing with Brighton and Hove Albion before beating Aston Villa and Tottenham. However, Leicester will have to break a run of poor results against Arsenal if they want to avoid back-to-back losses in the league. They have lost their last four Premier League games against the Gunners, last losing five in a row against them in the competition between September 1930 and October 1932.
As for Arsenal, they scored two goals in stoppage time to beat Aston Villa and return to the top of the Premier League last time out. The victory at Villa Park was needed after a poor run of results. The north London club dropped to second in the table after failing to win any of their previous three games, losing to Everton and Manchester City on either side of a draw against Brentford. If Arsenal win today, they will stretch their lead at the top of the table to five points, with City playing later today.
LEICESTER CITY (4-2-3-1): Danny Ward; Timothy Castagne, Harry Souttar, Wout Faes, Victor Kristiansen; Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Wilfred Ndidi; Tete, Dennis Praet, Harvey Barnes; Kelechi Iheanacho.
LEICESTER CITY SUBS: Daniel Iversen, Youri Tielemans, Jamie Vardy, Daniel Amartey, Patson Daka, Ricardo Pereira, Nampalys Mendy, Luke Thomas, Boubakary Soumare.
ARSENAL (4-3-3): Aaron Ramsdale; Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Martin Odegaard, Jorginho, Granit Xhaka; Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard.
ARSENAL SUBS: Matt Turner, Kieran Tierney, Thomas Partey, Emile Smith Rowe, Eddie Nketiah, Jakub Kiwior, Rob Holding, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Fabio Vieira.
Leicester must do more than sit behind the ball and wait for an opportunity to counter. They did not have a shot in the first 45 minutes, with Iheanacho a lonely figure when they cleared the ball long. Tete has been bright in spells but has spent most of his time in his half. As for Arsenal, they have dominated possession but have had very little to show for it, with most of their attempts coming from a distance. Unable to get into the opposition's box with Leicester defending in a low block, they need to bring Nketiah on. A poacher inside the box, the striker will give them someone to aim for in the middle.
That's all for today, goodbye.
Next up, Leicester host Blackburn Rovers in the fifth round of the EFL Cup with Arsenal at home against Everton in the Premier League.
