We're under way at the Etihad Stadium.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Manchester City and Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.
Chelsea are in a must-win situation today to claw back ground in the Premier League title race. They trail City by 10 points in second place in the table and must start pegging back Guardiola and company before they surge towards the crown. The Blues produced a fine performance to secure their place in the EFL Cup final by beating Tottenham during the week. In their last Premier League outing, Chelsea came from two behind to draw against Liverpool, but they're going to have to be even better to earn a positive result today. Tuchel has got the better of Guardiola in the past, none more so than the Champions League final last season. He needs another tactical masterstroke.
MANCHESTER CITY (4-3-3): Ederson; Kyle Walker, John Stones, Aymeric Laporte, Joao Cancelo; Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri, Bernardo Silva; Raheem Sterling, Jack Grealish, Phil Foden.
MANCHESTER CITY SUBS: Ruben Dias, Ilkay Gundogan, Gabriel Jesus, Zack Steffen, Fernandinho, Luke Mbete, James McAtee, Romeo Lavia, Josh Wilson-Esbrand.
CHELSEA (3-4-3): Kepa Arrizabalaga; Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr; Cesar Azpilicueta, N'Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Marcos Alonso; Hakim Ziyech, Romelu Lukaku, Christian Pulisic.
CHELSEA SUBS: Jorginho, Timo Werner, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Marcus Bettinelli, Saul Niguez, Ross Barkley, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Kai Havertz.
City have a huge opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to 13 points by beating Chelsea this afternoon. Pep Guardiola's men have reeled off 11 wins on the bounce in the top flight and are seemingly on the march to the title. Defeating the Blues would effectively remove Chelsea from the title race. City dispatched Swindon Town in the third round of the FA Cup last time out, and have been well rested for the challenge of Thomas Tuchel and company.
Thomas Tuchel will be satisfied with his side's performance thus far, although he has been a tad frustrated with their counters. There could have been a couple of opportunities had Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech had been more clinical. It could be an area to watch in the second half.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
City are next in action in the Premier League on the road against Southampton next Saturday. Chelsea return to action on Tuesday against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.
