Modric tees up an effort from the lip of the box, and has to turn on to his left foot to avoid a defender, ultimately skewing his effort well wide and above the goal. The seconds are counting down.
90' +1
It's going to be a late corner here for Madrid - but it sails beyond every body in the box and Getafe dig themselves out of danger on the break for the moment.
90'
Josete Miranda enters the game and replaces E. Ünal.
Josete Miranda is on for Unai with Getafe's latest change. We're going to have four added minutes of magic.
88'
The free-kick comes sailing in towards the far post - and a wayward Madrid attempt to cut the ball back in only finds the side netting.
86'
Marc Cucurella gets yellow.
Cucurella sees yellow now for a pull on Isco, as the Madrid man - a clutch player if there ever was such a thing out there this evening - looks to break.
85'
Does either side deserve a winner in all fairness? A draw would be the best result to this contest. It's been a proper humdinger. Arambarri now misses for Getafe.
83'
Both sides are very much jockeying for the winner here, and play is getting a little bit more testy. This has been an absolutely brilliant piece of sporting entertainment.
81'
Is that a penalty to Getafe? Angel is felled in the box following the resulting corner, apparently caught after poking a low finish towards Courtois. There's no need for a lengthy VAR stoppage; Madrid appear to be in the clear.
79'
Maksimovic! A wicked deflection from the midfielder's effort from just outside the box loops high into the air. Courtois takes no chances and punches over.

Description
78'
Sergio Arribas enters the game and replaces Marco Asensio.
Marco Asensio meanwhile makes way for Sergio Arribas for Madrid.
76'
D. Suárez enters the game and replaces Carles Aleñá.
Damian Suarez replaces Alena in Getafe's latest change as they look to snaffle a winner late on.
75'
Ángel Rodríguez gets yellow.
Now Marcelo is flagged for offside, as Madrid press high and look to crack the code of Getafe's defence. It's not the first time they've just been a little too eager in this game.
Angel is possibly lucky to not get a red card there. Pushing deep on the left wing, he gets into a tussle for the ball with Blanco and promptly elbows him in the face. It'll just be a yellow.
73'
This effort is robustly defended too - Jose Bordalas will be furious if his side do concede late on, given that they've mostly been impregnable at the rear - and Getafe push the game back to halfway again.
72'
Madrid look to break up Getafe's movement with a corner of their own but the hosts respond by shuttling them firmly back to halfway from the set-piece. Los Blancos are unbowed and come again: Nyom clears for another corner.
70'
Angel! He's not been on the field long but the Getafe substitute almost makes the instant impact as he slips a low shot just around the wrong side of the left post. He can't quite believe it went wide.
69'
Marcelo just pulled off an outrageous flick chip with his heel on the halfway line to stop a ball flying out for a throw-in. This game just continues to boggle the mind.
67'
Those changes have broken up the rhythm - or rather, the frantic breakbeat - of this game somewhat as the new inclusions slot in. Even so, you'd expect them to be up to speed soon.
65'
Antonio Blanco enters the game and replaces Rodrygo.
K. Benzema enters the game and replaces M. Díaz.
Ángel Rodríguez enters the game and replaces Jaime Mata.
The visitors also throw on Antonio Blanco for Rodrygo.
Indeed, it is a pair of swaps for Los Blancos, with Karim Benzema replacing Mariano.
Getafe counter with a swap of their own, introducing Angel Rodriguez for Mata.
62'
Not to speak ill of the reigning Premier League champions, but Getafe have given Madrid more of a workout than Liverpool did in midweek at points here. This has been an all guns blazing performance.
58'
A. Nyom gets yellow.
Nyom now has a little nibble at Vinicius and gets booked for his efforts too.
Olivera takes a casual stroll through a clutch of Madrid defenders and clips a low finish towards the far post. There's not enough bite on it to beat Courtois, but it is Getafe on the front foot for the moment in this contest.
56'
Timor steps up and thumps the set-piece over the defensive wall - and straight into the arms of Courtois, who has no problem gobbling that one up.
54'
Vinícius Júnior gets yellow.
That's a cynical challenge on Arambarri from Vinicius and the latter is shown a yellow card for his efforts in hacking down the former on the break. Getafe are going to get a set-piece chance from just over 30 yards out in the central channel.
Madrid think they've carved out an excellent opportunity to strike at the Getafe box with the defence in disarray - but because of that break in the hosts' rearguard action, Los Blancos are flagged offside.
52'
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Karim Benzema is heading down to warm up. It surely won't be long before we see him introduced if Mariano is sporting something a little more taxing.
50'
Now this is a worry for Madrid. They're already up to their neck with injuries and now Mariano is struggling with a knock to his leg after taking a blow challenging in the air. He hobbles over to the sidelines for now, but looks set to continue.
48'
There's been headers - albeit wayward ones - at both ends already. This game doesn't look like it's going to abate into a low-key ebb and flow any time soon.
46'
We are back underway at Coliseum Alfonso Perez. Is there a goal in this contest? Is there a winner? We'll find out soon enough.
45' +2
HALF-TIME: GETAFE 0-0 REAL MADRID
45'
Alena! A golden chance for Getafe as the midfielder is found unmarked in the Madrid box by a peach of a pass, but all he can do is chop his finish well over the crossbar. Two added minutes incoming.
43'
Zinedine Zidane is cutting a wary figure on the sidelines. His side have obviously come here on the back of a Champions League quarter-final that, if not strictly too taxing, was still another game of football to play. But there's been little sign of serious lethargy.
41'
We're just a few minutes out from half-time and there's still been no breakthrough, but it's hard to remember the last time an opening 45 minutes was such electrifying fun for a neutral. All that's missing is the goals, and that's only added to the drama.
39'
Soria with the save! The keeper makes it look a little more dramatic than it probably is to stop Vinicius' low header but he gets the job done.
38'
Getafe have amassed 15 open play crosses to just three from Madrid. That's quite a gulf between a side fighting relegation and another chasing a title defence.
36'
Rodrygo catches Timor now on the edge of the Getafe box as they both lunge for a loose ball. The referee looks poised to go for a card but thinks better of it in the end.
34'
Having paused for breath, this has got a little bit clunky now, with both sides trading soft fouls in midfield. It's as if the fluidity has drained out of this game down the proverbial plughole.
32'
This game has managed to go two minutes without some death-defying piece of play or near-miss or work of brilliance from either side, somehow. If we've had our half-hour of such skilled hi-jinks, then it has been a pleasure.
30'
Marcelo subsequently puts an effort wide from the resultant corner, and then doubles back to help cut off a gorgeous cross flicked on towards Mata near the right post in Madrid's own box. He's generating enough wattage to light up the city with those runs!
26'
The fear here for Getafe is that they could burn out early in this game; the energy of the match has been off the charts since the beginning. If they don't find their goal, will they still have enough to keep Madrid at bay?
22'
Cucurella hooks a left-footed effort towards goal now for Getafe from outside the box, but it is too high to be giving anybody any trouble in reality.
20'
It's like watching a game of tennis this. If there were spectators in the stands, they'd be getting a sore neck from all the left-to-right-and-back-again action going on in this match.
18'
Isco pushes an effort wide to the right now too. Madrid are growing in confidence after it was Getafe who mustered the lion's share of those early chances.
17'
Madrid cut a lovely path down the right flank now and flash a cross into the Getafe box but Soria is more than up to the task of handling the delivery as it comes back down to earth.
13'
Madrid's first corner of the game comes to nothing now, flashed wide with a lazy header amid the melee of the box, but it is a handy reminder that this is the side who are league champions after all. They're likely to still have more gears to find in this game.
12'
Remember earlier when we said Getafe were too good to go down? This is a great example why. This may be a Madrid side missing several key faces in defence, but there's been such a joy to the open way the hosts have played so far. They are up for the challenge, even when out of form.
10'
This is just absolutely frantic stuff! Now Getafe come again, slipping through some gaping cracks in the Madrid defence, and a lovely cut-back is teed up for Arambarri as he enters the box. He fires towards the bottom-left corner - and just puts the ball the wrong side of the post.
8'
End-to-end stuff at Coliseum Alfonso Perez! A free-kick for Getafe sees Olivera almost snatch the opener were it not for a low Courtois dive at close range, before Madrid go down the other end with a long ball that sees Mariano wrongfoot Soria and slide a slow ball into an empty net, only to be flagged for offside!
4'
That Getafe are so close to a relegation battle is a testament to the really tight margins at the bottom end of La Liga. They're too good a side to go down, perhaps, but their recent form has suggested a need for improvement.
2'
Some promising early sparks from the hosts who thread a series of passes down the right flank before a final delivery goes straight to Courtois. Getafe pepper the goalkeeper again a moment later with a looping cross he seizes on.
1'
We are under way in La Liga, in this clash between Real Madrid and Getafe!
It's been a good week for Zinedine Zidane's side on the field - with progression through to the semi-finals of the Champions League secured against Liverpool - but the defence of their domestic crown is still there to achieve. Victory today will keep them a point behind leaders and local rivals Atletico.
It is another nearby side to whom Los Blancos travel on their quest, in the shape of Jose Bordalas' hosts. Getafe have punched above their weight in recent years, complete with a Europa League knockout run last season, but they sit perilously close to the relegation places in a tight race this term.

The teams are out at Coliseum Alfonso Perez and we are moments away from kick-off.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of LaLiga's 2020-21 campaign, as Real Madrid look to keep up the pressure on the summit against struggling Getafe at Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
If there was ever a game to make a point against the creation of a European Super League, then let this contest step right up. This is no walkover so far - Madrid have been pushed every step of the way and probably further by their zealously entertaining hosts. Long may it continue after the break.
There were a combined 29 shots in that game, with two-thirds of them coming from Jose Bordalas' side. It will be hard to not find some frustration with the result - for long stretches, they looked capable of finding an opener that never came - but they have still picked up a point that will surely help them in their fight to avoid the drop.
Zinedine Zidane too is likely not be feeling outright disappointment with his side's showing, particularly given all their injured players. But with Atletico's victory today, it means they are now three points off the league leaders rather than just the one. Seven games remain for both.
It doesn't get any easier for Getafe now though; they have Barcelona up next, with Ronald Koeman's newly crowned Copa del Rey victors looking to also pursue the league crown. Real Madrid meanwhile know that a return to winning ways is imperative; Cadiz awaits them next. Until then, thank you for joining us - and have a great week!
