We're underway at the Vitality Stadium.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Bournemouth and Chelsea at the Vitality Stadium.
Bournemouth looked to be on the path towards survival last month by beating Brighton and Hove Albion and Aston Villa in back-to-back matches. However, they've since lost to Sheffield United and Burnley in successive games to leave themselves only two points clear of the relegation zone. Eddie Howe's men have struggled for consistency, although they have started to find their form at home. Another victory is needed today against the Blues.
Chelsea were crushed during the week by Bayern Munich in the first leg of their round of 16 Champions League, leaving their hopes of advancing slim to say the least. Frank Lampard needs a response from his team to keep them on course for the top four in the Premier League. Their form on the road has not been encouraging, failing to win their last three matches. The Blues have to be on their mettle this afternoon.
BOURNEMOUTH (4-3-3): Aaron Ramsdale; Jack Stacey, Steve Cook, Nathan Ake, Adam Smith; Lewis Cook, Jefferson Lerma, Philip Billing; Joshua King, Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser.
BOURNEMOUTH SUBS: Artur Boruc, Simon Francis, Dan Gosling, Dominic Solanke, Junior Stanislas, Diego Rico, Harry Wilson.
CHELSEA (3-4-3): Willy Caballero; Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Fikayo Tomori; Reece James, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic, Marcos Alonso; Mason Mount, Pedro, Olivier Giroud.
CHELSEA SUBS: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Antonio Rudiger, Ross Barkley, Willian, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Michy Batshuayi, Billy Gilmour.
Bournemouth made a good start to the game, but were driven back by the Blues and the goal was coming due to Chelsea's dominance of possession. Eddie Howe needs to get his side into the contest in the second half by any means possible.
Bournemouth are next in action in the Premier League against Liverpool on the road next Saturday, while Chelsea play Liverpool in the fifth round of the FA Cup during the week at Stamford Bridge.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
