Hello and welcome to live commentary of this Champions League last-16 first leg between Lyon and Juventus. Lyon enter this one in the middle of a difficult stretch: despite qualifying for the knockout rounds, their league form has been less impressive, with the French club finding themselves seven points adrift of third place. What’s more, talisman Memphis Depay has been ruled out for the rest of the season – if Lyon are to progress in this one, they’ll need a strong result at home today.
Juventus, meanwhile, will be familiar with this stage of the competition. They’ve made the knockout rounds in six consecutive seasons and they’ll be looking to avoid any mistakes as they bid to progress to the last eight once again.
SUBS: Thiago Mendes, Joachim Andersen, Bertrand Traore, Kenny Tete, Martin Terrier, Maxence Caqueret, Ciprian Tatarusanu.
Lyon make just one change to the side that defeated Metz last time out: Terrier drops out of the midfield with Aouar taking his place.
JUVENTUS (4-3-3): Wojciech Szczesny; Danilo, Matthijs de Ligt, Leonardo Bonucci, Alex Sandro; Rodrigo Bentancur, Miralem Pjanic, Adrien Rabiot; Juan Cuadrado, Paulo Dybala, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Juventus, on the other hand, make wholesale changes with four personnel changes and a switch from a 4-4-2 formation into a 4-3-3. Rugani and Chiellini both drop out of the defence with De Ligt and Bonucci both coming in, meanwhile Ramsey and Matuidi are both replaced in midfield by Rabiot and Pjanic.
The players are emerging from the tunnel and kick off is just seconds away!
There's no need for Juventus to panic just yet, but you wouldn't be surprised if Sarri turned to Higuain off the bench shortly into the second half.
That's all for now though, goodbye!
The result means that Lyon now have a foothold to build upon in a difficult second leg in Turin, but Juventus will still be confident of progression even without an away goal.
LYON (3-5-2): Anthony Lopes; Marcelo, Jason Denayer, Marcal; Leo Dubois, Bruno Guimaraes, Lucas Tousart, Houssem Aouar, Maxwel Cornet; Karl Toko Ekambi, Moussa Dembele.
