David Silva gets the game underway for City!
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Premier League meeting between Manchester City and Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium!
City are looking to close the gap to Liverpool at the top of the table to 11 points, with the league leaders not playing until tomorrow. They come into this game on a five-game winning streak in all competitions, including a 6-1 win over Aston Villa last weekend. Palace, on the other hand, have won just one of their last eight matches in all competitions (D5 L2) and are winless in their last four outings.
MANCHESTER CITY STARTING XI (4-3-3): Ederson; Joao Cancelo, John Stones, Fernandinho, Benjamin Mendy; Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, David Silva; Bernardo Silva, Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling.
MANCHESTER CITY SUBS: Claudio Bravo, Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, Kyle Walker, Rodrigo, Gabriel Jesus, Nicolas Otamendi.
CRYSTAL PALACE STARING XI (4-5-1): Vicente Guaita; Martin Kelly, James Tomkins, Gary Cahill, Jairo Riedewald; Wilfried Zaha, Cheikhou Kouyate, James McCarthy, James McArthur, Jordan Ayew; Cenk Tosun.
CRYSTAL PALACE SUBS: Wayne Hennessey, Joel Ward, Scott Dann, Brandon Pierrick, Connor Wickham, Gio McGregor.
The teams are out on the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away.
Guardiola won't be happy with the scoreline at the break as he'll feel that his side should be ahead at the break. Although they've been the better side, they haven't troubled Guaita on too many occasions and the manager will want that to change after the break. Hodgson will be pleased considering his side have been on the back foot throughout, but he'll want to see more from his team in the second half as City will put them under even more pressure.
That's all for today, goodbye!
City miss the chance to close the gap to 11 points at the top and now sit 13 points behind Liverpool who play Manchester United tomorrow. Next up for Guardiola's side is a trip to Sheffield United on Tuesday. Palace sit in ninth place for now and they now turn their attention to their game against Southampton.
