After 37 games only one point separates the top two sides in the Premier League. City hold the advantage over Liverpool after their vital win over Leicester City on Monday. Vincent Kompany's 25-yard screamer may have decided the title race, digging his team out of trouble at the Etihad Stadium. The drama is not over yet though and this afternoon could bring memories of City's first Premier League crown when Sergio Aguero had to score at the death against Queens Park Rangers in 2012 to guide them to the title. Pep Guardiola will be hopeful of a more routine result today.

City would become the first team to win successive crowns since Manchester United won the Premier League in the 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons. Standing in their way of that objective are Brighton, who have not been on form, failing to win any of their last nine matches in all competitions. Guardiola's men bested them in their FA Cup semi-final clash last month, edging the contest by a 1-0 scoreline. The Seagulls has been resilient in the past and with their home crowd behind they will be determined to bow out of the 2018/19 season with a positive result.
The game is not over yet and Brighton have been plucky in the final third. Given the result at Anfield and City's one-goal lead, it only takes one goal from Brighton to turn their title race back in the favour of Liverpool. Guardiola's men cannot afford to rest on their laurels, they need to put the Seagulls away in the second half.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
City now prepare an attempt to win a domestic treble when they travel to Wembley to take on Watford in the FA Cup final next week. Brighton are now on their summer holidays, ending the season with a disappointing 10-game winless run in all competitions. They have issues to address ahead of their return to Premier League action in August.
