Penalty goal scored by M. Ritchie for Newcastle United!
GOOOAAALLL! Ritchie converts the penalty and Newcastle lead 2-1! What a turnaround by the home side. The wing-back fires the ball past Ederson, the keeper did get a touch on the ball but there was too much power on it and he can't stop it from heading into the back of the net.
73'
Gabriel Jesus enters the game and replaces L. Sané.
City make their second change of the game, with Sane replaced by Jesus.
72'
F. Schär gets yellow.
Another Newcastle yellow card, with Schar booked for his late challenge on David Silva.
70'
It looks like City are preparing another change, with Jesus getting ready on the sidelines. Newcastle have defended well in the second half and are coping with anything the champions throw at them.
68'
What a game we have on our hands now! City are showing much more urgency to score now, playing more direct football and they've increased the tempo of their game.
66'
S. Rondón has scored a goal for Newcastle United! Assist by I. Hayden.
GOOOAAALLL! Newcastle are level, Rondon with the goal to make it 1-1! The striker has barely touched the ball in the City penalty area, but he grasped this chance with both hands. Rondon gets in front of Stones, watches the ball come down over his shoulder after Hayden's deep header into the area, then volleys the ball past Ederson, who couldn't do anything to stop it.
Newcastle get the ball into the box from the left, it comes out to Hayden on the edge of the area, he heads it back towards goal and Rondon provides the finish.
65'
Bernardo Silva enters the game and replaces K. De Bruyne.
Man City make their first substitution of the game, with De Bruyne coming off the pitch, perhaps to avoid a second booking. Bernardo Silva is his replacement.
63'
Just moments later Perez trips De Bruyne and gives away a free-kick, another player on a yellow card and that's another challenge that could've been a yellow card offence.
61'
De Bruyne catches Ritchie late as the wing-back gets to the ball just ahead of him. The Newcastle players, staff and crowd are all furious that the referee hasn't shown him another yellow card and sent him off. It's just a stern warning.
60'
An hour played at St James' Park and Manchester City lead 1-0 and look the more likely side to score again, with Newcastle struggling to get out of their own half at the moment.
56'
The tempo of the game is quite slow at the moment, with City not showing a great deal of urgency to push forward in search of a second goal, which would probably wrap up the victory.
54'
Ayoze Pérez gets yellow.
Perez is the first Newcastle player to be shown a yellow card, after he kicks the ball away in frustration following Schar's tackle that leads to a City free-kick.
53'
Guardiola looks frustrated with his sides performance so far, the visitors have been far from their best despite being 1-0 up. Newcastle will still believe that they can nick a goal late on as it stands.
48'
The visitors are dominating possession in the early few minutes of the second half, Sterling drives forward and gets a good cross into the box, but Yedlin just about manages to get his head to it and clear the danger.

HALF-TIME: NEWCASTLE 0-1 MANCHESTER CITY
45'
There will be a minimum of one minute added time played.
42'
Rondon has looked very isolated at times, the striker is putting himself about and trying to cause problems, but there isn't anyone close enough to him when he does win the ball, as Newcastle are having to sit so deep inside their own half.
40'
Pep Guardiola is barking out instructions on the touchline, with his side now struggling to break down the home defence and making needless errors which is handing the ball to Newcastle.
38'
There's not long left to play before the break now, can City double their lead before the break, or will Newcastle manage to pull one back before the half-time whistle?
34'
R. Sterling gets yellow.
Sterling is the second City player to be shown a yellow card, after he brings Longstaff down. A needless challenge to make.
33'
Almost! Sane is played in-behind Yedlin, the German sprints through on goal, but the pass through is slightly too heavy and Dubravka races out of his goal and gets to the ball just in time, taking it off the toes of the City winger.

De Bruyne whips a deep corner into the penalty area towards David Silva, but it's headed away to Danilo. The left-back races onto it and fires a first time shot at goal, but he gets it terribly wrong, the ball flies high over the Newcastle goal.
28'
Despite the early goal, there haven't been too many opportunites in front of goal for City. Newcastle have defended well since going behind, getting into their five man defence and limiting the space that the visitors have to play in.
26'
Ritchie curls a good ball into the box from a free-kick, after Sterling gives away a poor foul. Fernandinho heads the ball clear, but only to Yedlin on the edge of the box, but he slices his ball high over the crossbar.
24'
The atmosphere has livened up now, with those couple of Newcastle chances providing the home crowd with some optimism.

17'
K. De Bruyne gets yellow.
De Bruyne is shown a yellow card for taking the free-kick quickly that led to the disallowed goal by Aguero.
15'
This is much better by Newcastle, the visitors have dropped the tempo of their game and a few sloppy passes have allowed the Magpies to get forward. Ritchie has a shot blocked after Rondon's header into his path.
13'
Decent chance! First opportunity of the game for Newcastle. Danilo loses the ball around 40 yards out and Perez races towards the City goal, he takes the shot early as Laporte is rushing over to close him down. However, Perez drags his shot well wide of Ederson's goal.
11'
Free-kick to City in a good position to get the ball into the penalty area, after Aguero is brought down by close to the touchline. A poor foul to give away, as Aguero wasn't really going anywhere. Silva whips a terrific ball into the box, but Newcastle defend it well and clear the danger.
9'
Newcastle have everyone back behind the ball and in their own half as the visitors dominate possession. The atmosphere is quite muted at St James' Park, with the early goal for the visitors disheartening the home crowd.
7'
The hosts have started to settle down now, they managed to get on the ball and work their way forward as when City have the ball, they are deep inside their own half.
3'
Newcastle don't look comfortable at all in these early stages, the visitors are dominating possession and are pressing forward in search of another goal.

S. Agüero has scored a goal for Manchester City! Assist by David Silva.
We're underway!

GOOOAAALLL! What a start, Man City lead 1-0 after just 25 seconds! Aguero fires the ball home from close range after David Silva heads the ball back across the six-yard box, following a fast kick-off and ball up to Sterling, who caught out the hosts. Dubravka goes to meet the cross, but David Silva gets their first and Aguero then just had an open net to fire the ball into.

Manchester City raced into the lead, scoring just 25 seconds after kick-off, Aguero scoring his 15th goal in 13 appearances against Newcastle. The Argentine had a second goal ruled out later in the half, after De Bruyne took a free-kick too quickly for the referee's liking and the ball was brought back. The visitors have dominated possession and have spent much of their time in the Newcastle half, but they have given the ball away too easily at times and haven't tested Dubravka enough in the Newcastle goal.
Newcastle will be disappointed at how they started the game, but they've defended better as the game went on and stopped the visitors from having many goalscoring chances. The Magpies have had a couple of half chances themselves, with Perez firing wide from the edge of the penalty area and Atsu seeing his volley blocked, with the ball flying just over the crossbar.
That's all from us tonight folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
City sit second in the Premier League and they will fall seven points behind Liverpool at the top of the table if the Reds can beat Leicester tomorrow. Meanwhile, Newcastle move up to 14th, five points above the relegation zone and they face Tottenham next on Saturday. City welcome Arsenal to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
