G. Sigurðsson has scored a goal for Everton! Assist by K. Zouma.
And the pressure pays off! The ball is bouncing around the Southampton box before it falls to Sigurdsson on the edge of the area. He calmly passes the ball through a crowd of players and past McCarthy to make it 2-1.
Zouma found Sigurdsson with a nice pass and that goal makes it an interesting last few minutes now.
90'
It is all Everton now, but Southampton are standing firm!

Redmond gets a huge cheer from the St Mary’s Stadium as he is substituted for Armstrong.
79'
Southampton win yet another corner to relieve some of the pressure that was building on them. It is taken by Ward-Prowse from the left and Keane easily heads away.

Description
74'
S. Long enters the game and replaces D. Ings.
Everton are going more direct now looking to utilise the aerial presence or Calvert-Lewin. Pickford picks him out with a long pass up field but it comes to nothing.
Ings gets a very warm round of applause as he comes off and is replaced by Long in the Southampton attack.
72'
Off the bar! Bernard lifts a cross into the Southampton box and it falls to Lookman on the far side. His cross is deflected straight up and it bounces off the top of McCarthy’s bar. Everton are increasing the pressure now.
69'
You would have to think Everton will have to score the next goal, and fairly soon, if they want to get anything from this match.
67'
N. Redmond gets yellow.
I. Gueye gets yellow.
And Gueye gets a booking as well for his part!
Redmond gets a yellow card for a push on Gueye after some handbags in the middle of the pitch.
65'
C. Tosun enters the game and replaces Richarlison.
Richarlison comes off for Everton and on comes Tosun.
64'
L. Digne is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
GOAL!! Digne’s own goal makes it 2-0 in bizarre fashion! Ings plays in Redmond for Southampton who has the ball on the edge of the area and just as he is about to pull the trigger, Digne challenges him from behind; his toe-poke finds it way past the scrambling Pickford and into the bottom-left corner of the goal.
61'
Ward-Prowse takes a free-kick from the right for Southampton which is met at the near post by the head of Bednarek. The referee blows his whistle for an Everton free-kick.
57'
D. Calvert-Lewin enters the game and replaces André Gomes.
Gomes comes off to be replaced by Calvert-Lewin. This should mean a change in formation for Everton.
56'
Everton look like they are going to make a substitution here.
55'
Yet again, it is easily dealt with by Everton and they launch a counter-attack. Southampton have to be wary of putting themselves under pressure in that way.
54'
Southampton are on top now. Hojbjerg wins a corner on the right which Ward-Prowse will swing into the box.
52'
That has brought the crowd to life!
50'
J. Ward-Prowse has scored a goal for Southampton!
CHANCE! Digne beats his man down the left and picks out a cross to Sigurdsson at the near post for Everton. He heads at goal but McCarthy pushes it around his near post.
WHAT A GOAL!!! Ward-Prowse picks up the ball in the midfield for Southampton and drives forward. The Everton defence stand off him and allow Ward-Prowse to bring the ball to the edge of the area where he unleashes a shot and fires the ball into the left of Pickford’s goal! 1-0 to Southampton.
48'
Shout for a penalty as Lookman goes down under Romeu’s challenge in the Southampton box, the referee says there is no foul though.
46'
The referee blows his whistle and the second half gets underway!
45' +4
HALF-TIME: SOUTHAMPTON 0-0 EVERTON.
45'
There is going to be three minutes of added time at the end of the first half.
43'
The departure of Targett doesn’t seem to have affected Southampton at all! If anything they look even more of a threat down the left since Cedric came on.
39'
Southampton are enjoying a decent spell of possession now, they’ll need to take one of these chances eventually though.
35'
Cédric Soares enters the game and replaces M. Targett.
Targett isn’t able to continue after the problem he received treatment for earlier and he comes off to be replaced by Cedric.
31'
Southampton look keen to get plenty of early crosses into the box to test the Everton defence, but so far they are all being dealt with by the excellent Zouma who has been exceptional in the air this afternoon.
29'
Another corner for Southampton is sent into the box from the right by Ward-Prowse. It is headed away by Zouma and Everton attempt to launch a counter-attack. End-to-end action now!
27'
CHANCE FOR SOUTHAMPTON! A lovely ball is send over the top of the Everton defence by Hojbjerg and it bounces kindly for Ings who volleys first time from the edge of the box. It is straight at Pickford who gratefully punches the ball away.
23'
Richarlison is dropping deeper and deeper for Everton as he desperately tries to get into this game; this time he wins a free-kick and Everton start another attack.
21'
Richarlison drops deep for Everton to win the ball and finds Bernard on the right. He puts a low ball to the edge of the area where Sigurdsson shoots first time, but a diving Southampton defender blocks the shot.
19'
Redmond has come to life now for Southampton! He runs into the box on the left and dinks a ball toward the back post. Zouma does really well to leap above everyone and clear.
15'
Redmond breaks through the middle for Southampton and sends a ball into the path of Targett. He puts a cross in which is blocked by Coleman and it is another corner for the home side.
14'
Lookman breaks into the Southampton box on the right and sends a low ball toward Richarlison; the striker is about to shoot when the ball is snatched off his toe by Stephens.
12'
It’s been an even start to this game so far with most of the action in the middle third of the pitch. Everton look comfortable on the ball but can’t get past Southampton’s defence. Southampton are hanging back but look dangerous on the counter-attack – especially with the speed of Redmond and Ings up front.
10'
Both teams have tried plenty of searching balls over the top in the first ten minutes, they both clearly fancy their pacey strikers to get the better of the defences.
8'
Everton clear the corner far down the pitch and are able to regroup.
7'
Targett puts a ball into the Everton box from the left. It finds Ward-Prowse on the edge of the area who’s shot is deflected past the right-hand post and goes out for a corner.
5'
Everton win the first corner of the match which is swung into the box from the left. It is over the head of everyone and cleared for another corner form the other side. Southampton manage to clear that one through the boot of Bednarek.
3'
Southampton have made a positive start. They’re playing a system which allows Valery and Targett to get down the wings and they should provide the Everton defence with some headaches this afternoon.
1'
The referee blows his whistle and we are underway!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Premier League clash between Southampton and Everton.
This is Southampton’s first Premier League home game of 2019 and they come into the match having being knocked out of the FA Cup on Wednesday night at the hands of Derby County. Their last outing at St Mary's Stadium in the league was the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City last month.
Everton’s Premier League form has been as patchy as their opponents with two wins and three losses in their last five games; but they were impressive when beating Bournemouth 2-0 at Goodison Park last weekend.
So let’s take a look at the two teams this afternoon.
SUBS: Tom Davies, Cenk Tosun, Maarten Stekelenburg, Yerry Mina, Theo Walcott, Leighton Baines, Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
EVERTON (4-2-3-1): Jordan Pickford; Seamus Coleman, Michael Keane, Kurt Zouma, Lucas Digne; Andre Gomes, Idrissa Gueye; Ademola Lookman, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Bernard; Richarlison.
SUBS: Cedric Soares, Shane Long, Angus Gunn, Kayne Ramsay, Stuart Armstrong, Sam Gallagher, Callum Slattery.
SOUTHAMPTON (3-5-2): Alex McCarthy; Jannik Vestergaard, Jack Stephens, Jan Bednarek; Yan Valery, James Ward-Prowse, Oriol Romeu, Matt Targett, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg; Nathan Redmond, Danny Ings.
The teams are in the tunnel and we are just minutes away from kick-off.
No goals yet at St Mary’s Stadium but plenty of action to keep the crowd entertained in the first half. Everton have had the most possession in the first 45 minutes but could only muster just two shots on goal; Southampton meanwhile have had six efforts at Pickford’s goal and hit the post twice! Everton look the most comfortable with the ball, but it is the home side that seem the most likely to score.
There does look to be goals in this game and both sides will fancy their chances at taking away all three points. Redmond and Ings are the key for Southampton who need to utilise their pace better in the second half; for Everton, they need to provide far more support to Richarlison up front. It would be a surprise if this one ended 0-0!
Southampton climb away from the Premier League relegation zone with those three points and can enjoy their break from the league now. For Everton, they’ll need to play far better than that if they want to challenge for the Europa League places. It’s the FA Cup for Everton next, away at Milwall next weekend, while Southampton aren’t back in action until their game against Crystal Palace in 11 days time.
