There will be a minimum of three minutes added on at the end of this match.
90'
J. Boateng enters the game and replaces Javi Martínez.
Bayern bring on Boateng for some added stability in defence heading into stoppage-time.
89'
The Lewandowski goal has understandably taken the air out of the stadium, as all the noise is now coming from the travelling supporters. Hoffenheim deserve a ton of credit for the way they battled back in this second half, but their comeback is going to fall just short.
87'
R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by T. Müller.
Muller provides the assist with a lovely ball in from the right, serving that up on a platter for Lewandowski.
GAME, SET, MATCH! Bayern make it 3-0 as Lewandowski puts the match to bed on the counter, turning in Muller's low cross from eight yards. What a turn of events here, as Bayern apply the finishing touches just moments after a stunning save from Neuer denied the hosts an equaliser!
84'
Javi Martínez gets yellow.
The referee brings play back to show Martinez yellow for a bad foul in the build-up to that Hoffenheim chance.
81'
The pace has fizzled out a bit following what's been a very lively second half. Fatigue is undoubtedly setting in a bit here, as Hoffenheim are going to have to dig deep to push on for an equaliser.
79'
Á. Szalai enters the game and replaces Joelinton.
Hoffenheim introduce Szalai to lead the line for the final 10 minutes, as he replaces Joelinton up top.
78'
J. Rodríguez enters the game and replaces Thiago Alcântara.
Changes for both sides now ahead of the final 10 minutes. Bayern bring on James as they look to inject some fresh legs into midfield, with Thiago replaced.
77'
Hoffenheim continue to see their possession figures rise, and they appear to be gearing up here for a final push. They're taking a slightly more patient approach in possession, trying to get bodies forward as they build and search for an opening.
Minute
Description
73'
S. Gnabry enters the game and replaces K. Coman.
Bayern go to the bench for the first time tonight as Gnabry replaces Coman in a straight swap on the flank.
72'
Not quite! Hoffenheim threaten from a corner as the ball is smartly kept in play at the far post and floated back into the danger area, but Bayern just clear their lines. Pressure is back on moments later as Kramaric sends Belfodil through, but the offside flag denies the hosts the chance.
70'
Into the final 20 minutes and it remains brilliantly poised as these sides race to the finish. Given the scoreline and the balance of play in the first half, this sort of tense finish has come quite unexpectedly.
68'
J. Kimmich gets yellow.
Yellow card Joshua Kimmich
66'
Double standard? Goretzka is the offender this time, arriving late and lowering the shoulder as he puts in a crunching challenge on Bittencourt to send the Hoffenheim midfielder down in a heap. That's a physical collision that could have been avoided, but Goretzka avoids a booking.
64'
S. Posch gets yellow.
Posch comes crashing through the back of Goretzka and that will see him into the book. It's the third yellow card produced by the referee tonight, all of which have been shown to Hoffenheim players.
61'
There's a newfound energy inside the stadium, as well as a growing sense of belief. There was little reason for optimism for Hoffenheim following that first half, but Nagelsmann has made the necessary adjustments as they look like turning this around.
59'
N. Schulz has scored a goal for Hoffenheim! Assist by L. Bittencourt.
Bittencourt is credited with the assist for his clever chipped pass in for Schulz, but Joelinton was vital in the build-up as well, kick-starting the move with the initial ball out from the back.
HOFFENHEIM PULL ONE BACK! 2-1! Game on at PreZero Arena as Schulz bends a delicious effort in at the far post from 20 yards to cap off a lightning-quick counter from the hosts! Neuer reacted well and still couldn't keep that out at full-stretch!
57'
F. Grillitsch gets yellow.
Grillitsch doesn't wait long to mak an impact, as he finds himself into the referee's book less than 60 seconds after coming on, for a foul on Thiago.
56'
F. Grillitsch enters the game and replaces K. Vogt.
D. Geiger enters the game and replaces K. Demirbay.
Hoffenheim go to the bench for the first time tonight as Grillitsch comes on to replace Vogt, which should see the hosts switch to four at the back.
Geiger is also introduced by the hosts, at the expense of Demirbay. This is more of a straight swap in midfield.
48'
Hoffenheim are straight into attack to begin the second half, but a well-worked move amounts to nothing following a brave block by Thiago. Bayern quickly counter in numbers, but Goretzka's cross is cut out!
46'
The second half is underway!
45' +1
L. Goretzka has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by D. Alaba.
Alaba has run riot throughout this first half and he's picked out a number of terrific crosses, finally picking up an assist here.
STUNNING FINISH! BAYERN LEAD 2-0! That's a piece of brilliance from Goretzka, and a real blow to Hoffenheim as Bayern double their lead on the counter! Alaba swings a cross in for Goretzka, who does so well to slide to meet it, while still managing to send a controlled finish in at the far post! How has he steered that in from on the ground?!
HALF-TIME: HOFFENHEIM 0-2 BAYERN MUNUCH.
45'
There will be a minimum of one minute added on at the end of this first half.
44'
Hoffenheim are showing a bit of fight back as this first half winds down, spending more time in attack as they begin to ask some questions of the Bayern defence. Perhaps this will help them build some momentum heading into the break.
38'
There's been no change in Hoffenheim's intensity or urgency - or ability for that matter - since the Bayern opener. The visitors are again back in attack, camped out as they patiently work the ball around in search of an opening.
36'
That's no less than Bayern deserve. They've peppered the Hoffenheim goal throughout this first half and there was a real sense of inevitability to that opener. Perhaps that will spark Hoffenheim into life?
34'
L. Goretzka has scored a goal for Bayern Munich!
BAYERN HAVE THE BREAKTHROUGH! 1-0! That's been a long time coming. Alaba is again prominent in the build-up as his cross finds Lewandowski. Baumann manages to turn aside the striker's header from point-blank range, but he's unable to deny Goretzka on the follow up as a result of an unlucky defelction off Vogt.
33'
This simply has not been good enough from Hoffenheim. They have been unable to match Bayern's intensity, or find any sort of rhythm in possession through the opening 30 minutes, and are incredibly lucky not to be trailing.
26'
K. Vogt gets yellow.
A cynical foul from Vogt sees him into the book as he tugs back on the shirt of Lewandowski in an attempt to win the ball back. That's the first yellow card of the match.
25'
Bayern have really set up camp now in attack, as just about everyone in a red shirt is across the halfway line. For all the possession they've seen, however, Hoffenheim deserve some credit for limiting their chances.
23'
Hoffenheim have been strangers to the Bayern half through the opening quarter of this match. They've hardly had a touch inside the final third, and their only attempted shot of this match has come from Kramaric's header on three minutes.
21'
Relentless pressure is being applied on the Hoffenheim goal, as the hosts are finding no way out from the back. A cleverly worked corner routine leads to a shooting chance for Goretzka, who tries to chip the crowd and the keeper from 15 yards, but Baumann is wise to it.
15'
Hoffenheim are really struggling at the moment to string more than a couple of passes together, on the rare occasion that they win the ball back. They have seen just over 25 per cent possession, and have completed just 53 passes to Bayern's 117 through 15 minutes.
13'
Bayern are absolutely dominating possession, with Hoffenheim unable to find a way to win it back. The hosts have defended well, but they're having to do a lot of it. They need to start offering a bit of a threat on the break or Bayern will be able to commit everyone forward.
9'
The lively start comes to a bit of an abrupt halt as Bayern adopt a more patient approach in possession, which has really suffocated the tempo. Hoffenheim are keeping their shape well to keep Bayern out, but they're struggling to win the ball back.
5'
There's an exciting tempo to this match in the opening stages. It's not exactly end-to-end action, but both sides are displaying good intent and energy, which has made for an enticing start.
3'
The first chance falls to Bayern following a clever passage of play, but Lewandowski skies his effort from 20 yards. Back the other way come Hoffenheim and they win a free-kick in an advanced position. Kramaric rises to meet the ensuing delivery, but heads straight at Neuer.
1'
AND THEY'RE OFF! Hoffenheim are in all blue as they get this match underway, with Bayern in all red.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of this Bundesliga match as Hoffenheim welcome Bayern Munich to PreZero Arena!
The last Bundesliga match of 2018 came at PreZero Arena, and now the venue has the honour of hosting the first league match of 2019 as a lengthy 26-day winter break concludes with defending champions Bayern Munich visiting Sinsheim.
Both sides closed out 2018 in remarkably consistent fashion – Bayern winning their last five league matches and Hoffenheim quite stunningly drawing each of their last six – but find themselves playing catch-up into the new year.
Despite their excellent form, Bayern still trail leaders Borussia Dortmund by six points at the Bundesliga summit. Their margin for error is razor thin in 2019, as they have never been able to overturn such a deficit this far into a league campaign.
Hoffenheim also have some ground to make up, as a lengthy sting of draws has seen them drop down to seventh place in the table, six points back of the top four as they have their work cut out for them if they are to finish in the Champions League places for a second successive season.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
HOFFENHEIM (3-4-3): Oliver Baumann; Kevin Vogt, Stefan Posch, Benjamin Hubner; Pavel Kaderabek, Leonardo Bittencourt, Kerem Demirbay, Nico Schulz; Andrej Kramaric, Ishak Belfodil, Joelinton.
SUBS: Dennis Geiger, Nadiem Amiri, Joshua Brenet, Kasim Adams, Alexander Stolz, Adam Szalai, Florian Grillitsch.
BAYERN (4-5-1): Manuel Neuer; Joshua Kimmich, Niklas Sule, Mats Hummels, David Alaba; Leon Goretzka, Thomas Muller, Javi Martinez, Thiago Alcantara, Kingsley Coman; Robert Lewandowski.
SUBS: James Rodriguez, Rafinha, Sven Ulreich, Jerome Boateng, Serge Gnabry, Renato Sanches, Alphonso Davies.
Bayern are comfortably on course for a sixth successive league win as Leon Goretzka's double has capped off a dominant first half from Niko Kovac's side. It was one-way traffic throughout those opening 45 minutes, with Bayern fully deserving of their two-goal lead.
Hoffenheim managed to get their possession figures back up to 37 per cent in the first half, after hovering just above 25 per cent early on, but they've flat out struggled all over the pitch thus far. They have been outshot 14-3 by Bayern, and have Oliver Baumann to thank for this scoreline not being worse than it is.
That's all for our live coverage, thanks for following along. Goodbye!
