We're underway at Craven Cottage.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Fulham and Arsenal at Craven Cottage.
Fulham have gone four matches without a win in the Premier League which has left them just one place above the relegation zone. They were beaten 3-0 by Everton last time out, leaving Slavisa Jokanovic and his men in need of a response this afternoon on home soil against the Gunners.
After their slow start to the season Arsenal have reeled off an impressive eight wins on the bounce in all competitions, including five-straight victories in the Premier League. Unai Emery's men have found their form and will be looking to close within a point of top spot to take advantage of the match between Liverpool and Manchester City later today. The Gunners put three goals past Qarabag on the road during the week and will be eyeing a similar performance at Craven Cottage.
Let's take a look at the two teams this afternoon, starting with the Cottagers.
FULHAM (4-2-3-1): Marcus Bettinelli; Cyrus Christie, Denis Odoi, Tim Ream, Maxime Le Marchand; Jean Michael Seri; Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa; Luciano Vietto, Andre Schurrle, Ryan Sessegnon; Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Fulham subs: Kevin McDonald, Stefan Johansen, Floyd Ayite, Sergio Rico, Alfie Mawson, Steven Sessegnon, Aboubakar Kamara.
ARSENAL (4-2-3-1): Bernd Leno; Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding, Shkodran Mustafi, Nacho Monreal; Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka; Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Alex Iwobi, Danny Welbeck; Alexandre Lacazette.
Arsenal subs: Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Aaron Ramsey, Stephan Lichsteiner, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Emiliano Martinez, Matteo Guendouzi, Sead Kolasinac.
Andre Schurrle's goal on the stroke of half-time changes the perspective of the opening 45 minutes completely. Fulham were outplayed for the majority of the first half and went behind as Arsenal cut open their defence, with Alexandre Lacazette providing a clinical finish in the box. The Gunners wasted opportunities to extend their advantage and were punished just before the break when a mistake by Nacho Monreal allowed Schurrle to equalise, chipping the ball over Bernd Leno.
Unai Emery will not be happy man at the break. Arsenal should have been in complete control of the contest, but Monreal's mistake has allowed the Cottagers back into the game. It has been a fairly open contest and there will be more goals on offer in the second half, which will give hope to both teams.
Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
