McKennie rises to connect with the outswinging cross, but he can't get over the ball and heads high.
45'
At the other end of the pitch Fabinho, who just won the penalty, commits a foul of his own that will give the Americans a free kick from a dangerous position!
43'
Penalty goal scored by Neymar for Brazil!
GOOALLLL!!!! Neymar converts from the spot! He stuttered and sent Steffen diving left before slotting the ball in cooly to the other side! United States 0-2 Brazil
42'
Trapp challenges Fabinho in the box. The latter goes down... and the penalty is awarded! That looked a bit soft to be honest.
41'
Firmino beats the backline and catches up to an overhead ball in the box... but he runs out of space and Miazga ushers him out to the wing.
39'
Brazil unleash a barrage of shots with Coutinho, Fabinho, and Costa all getting into the act... none find the back of the net however.

35'

Now Yedlin send in a cross from the right.... Fabinho gets his head on it first though and clears it away from danger.
18'
Arriola finds space out on the right wing and whips in.... a horrible cross that flew quite high above Alisson's goal. He should have passed in Yedlin on the overlap.

Roberto Firmino has scored a goal for Brazil! Assist by Douglas Costa.
GOALLLL!!! Firmino! He ran off the shoulder of Miazga and volleyed in the ball that Costa had curled in! United States 0-1 Brazil
Costa tore past Robinson who just could not match the Brazilians pace. The Juventus man then made sure Firmino was behind the ball before whipping it in for the latter to finish! Simple, but beautiful.
Fred and Firmino try to play a neat little one-two through the backline of the US, but a toe taps the ball away ending the move. They're getting closer now...
8'
Now Yedlin goes through Coutinho. The young Americans are playing a physical, if not dangerous brand of football thus far.
6'
Wood is called for a foul having clattered clumsily into Filipe Luis. That may have been a card in a competetive match!
4'
Brazil are passing the ball around the back while Wood is the only American in their half. Not exactly a high press from interim manager Dave Sarachan.
2'
For those interested, Brazil are wearing their yellow kits with blue shorts and socks, while the USA are playing in all white.
Neymar dribbles into the opposing penalty area, takes on Miazga, but the defender deflects the ball and Steffen picks it up. Early warning there from Brazil!

We're underway at MetLife Stadium!
Hello, and welcome to our live coverage of this international friendly between the United States and Brazil!
The Americans will have a tough task ahead of them today as they have lost their last 10 matches against Brazil.
That task will be made even harder without Clint Dempsey or Jermaine Jones, both of whom announced their retirement this week. They had made a combined 210 appearances for the United States!
For Brazil, they come into this match surely disappointed to have not advanced further at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Despite conceding just three goals all tournament, they were knocked out by Belgium in the Round of 16.
Now let's take a look at the teams that each nation will be sending out tonight!
United States (4-1-4-1): Zack Steffen; DeAndre Yedlin, Matt Miazga, John Brooks, Antonee Robinson; Will Trapp; Paul Arriola, Tyler Adams, Weston McKennie, Julian Green; Bobby Wood.
For those wondering where Christian Pulisic is, he was not called up for this international break due to a leg injury. He has missed four of the last five friendlies for the USA.
Brazil (4-3-3): Alisson; Fabinho, Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Filipe Luis; Casemiro, Fred, Philippe Coutinho; Neymar, Douglas Costa, Roberto Firmino.
Manchester City boast four Brazilians but none of them (Ederson, Gabriel Jesus, Fernandinho, Danilo) have been selected for these friendlies.
In the interim, here's a fun fact: Richarlison, who plays for Everton, is on the bench tonight alongside a player named Everton who plays for Gremio!
Manager Tite has sent out an incredibly strong XI for this friendly. Can the young Americans cause problems for Brazil, or will the Selecao dominate? We'll find out together either way!
The teams are now walking out onto the field! Just a couple of anthems, some handshakes, and a whistle to go before kick-off!
Brazil were at a canter for the majority of the first half but broke forward when the chances were there creating plenty of chances and, of course, scoring the two goals. The midfield and defence have looked solid with the only concerning shots allowed from set pieces. Tite will likely make changes either at the half or soon after it, but this XI certainly did their job.
The Americans were clearly the worse of the two teams, but really weren't too bad considering the amount of youth and inexperience on the pitch. Yedlin seems to be able to find space on the right wing whenever he wants which could yet lead to some chances. The strength of this team is clearly in the air as they looked incredibly dangerous from the few set pieces that they took in the first half. Do not be surprised if they score from a dead ball situation before this match is over.
It's certainly not all doom and gloom for the Americans as many of their young players got some very important experience against elite level opposition today. The second half was much better as they saw their possession rise an impressive 11% from the 33.7% they posted in the first 45 minutes. McKennie looked the best player for the USA but there were certainly promising signs from the centre back pairing of Miazga and Brooks. Throw Pulisic in this team and the goals should come.
That will do oit for our live coverage of the United States v Brazil! We hoped you enjoyed following along and will join us again soon!
Brazil deserved the result on the day as they were never truly challenged at the back. If anything, they may be disappointed having scored just twice considering how many times they broke at pace. Costa was brilliant on the night and Arthur looked excellent in midfield when he came on. Frankly, the Selecao are better than this US team and it showed.
