Hello, and welcome to our live coverage of Watford v Tottenham!
Now let's look at the starting lineups for today's match!
Watford (4-4-2): Ben Foster; Daryl Janmaat, Craig Cathcart, Christian Kabasele, Jose Holebas; Will Hughes, Etienne Capoue, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Roberto Pereyra; Troy Deeney, Andre Gray.
Tottenham (3-1-4-2): Michel Vorm; Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez, Jan Vertonghen; Mousa Dembele; Kieran Trippier, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Ben Davies; Lucas Moura, Harry Kane.
The obvious absentee from this Tottenham team is Hugo Lloris who misses out with a leg injury. His replacement today, Michel Vorm, has started just six Premier League matches for the London club and has conceded in four of them. At the other end of the pitch, manager Mauricio Pochettino will hope Lucas can continue his blistering form which has seen him contribute towards eight goals (four goals, four assists) in his last eight starts for Spurs.
Just seconds from the start here now!
The teams are now coming out of the tunnel! Not long to go until kick-off now! Which side will be able to extend their league winning streak to four?
Despite likely being disappointed in their attacking performace, Watford should be pleased with the scoreline here at the half. They have defended well as a unit and limited their opponents to low quality shots (five shots allowed, none on target). They likely need to have more of the ball if they want to chase all three points but, in their current set up, they could well be en route for the draw.
Tottenham have dominated possession thus far (65.3%) but obviously have nothing to show for it. In fact, they failed to register a shot on target in the first half of a Premier League match for the first time since last December! Will they be able to mark this match with a goal or will Watford be able to hold them at nil?
That's it for our live coverage of Watford v Tottenham! We hope you enjoyed following along and will join us again soon!
What a come back from Watford! After nearly being played off the pitch in the first half, the Hornets pressured Tottenham throughout the second half and capitalised on two fantastic set pieces taken by Jose Holebas' set pieces. Deeney was fantastic in the latter stages as well, not only scoring their first goal, but also holding up play late, and heading away a Tottenham corner that could have well cost the hosts two points. At the end of match week four, Watford are in the top four!
Tottenham came out in the second half like they had already won the match when they decidedly had not. It seemed as though they were in cruise control while Watford took back control of the game. Spurs were largely relegated to shots from outside the box and failed to truly challenge Foster as they managed just two shots on target all match. A loss to this Watford team is far from embarrassing, but Mauricio Pochettino will surely be frustrated to head into the international break off the back of a perfromance like this.
