ARSENAL CHANCE! Another sloppy pass out by Ederson. His pass out from the back doesn't have enough pace on it and Mkhitaryan races onto it, gets into the penalty area and then pulls it back for Lacazette, but his strike flies high over the bar.
90'
There will be a minimum of four minutes added time played.
89'
City are cruising to victory now, the pace of the game has dropped significantly as they look to just see this game out.
87'
L. Sané enters the game and replaces R. Sterling.
Final City change, as Sterling makes way for Sane.
85'
Another goal that's ruled out for offside! This time it's Ozil who has the ball in the back of the net, but he is well offside when he receives the through ball from Aubameyang, before slotting the ball past Ederson.
83'
Huge mistake by Ederson! Luckily Ozil doesn't capitalise! The City keeper plays a poor pass out from the back and it goes straight to Ozil, he tries to pass it to Lacazette but his first touch is terrible and Ederson makes up for his error by pouncing on the ball and relieving the danger.
81'
Penalty shout! Ozil goes down under pressure from Stones after a pass from Lichtsteiner. But the referee shows no interest and waves away any small appeals. The German appeared to get the ball stuck under his feet and then falls to the ground. Ozil didn't really appeal for it either.
79'
Gabriel Jesus enters the game and replaces S. Agüero.
Here is another City change, it's a straight swap up front with Agüero making way for Jesus.
GOAL RULED OUT! Aubameyang has the ball in the net, but the linesman has his flag up for offside. Torreira plays a great ball forward for the striker, who just manages to get on the end of it and poke the ball into the net, off the crossbar. However, the officials pull it back immediately for offside.
77'
City are just taking the sting out of the game now, they look very comfortable and you can hear the City supporters loud and clear from the away end. The home supporters haven't had much to cheer about this afternoon.

De Bruyne is the latest player to be shown a yellow card for his foul on Torreira.
70'
L. Torreira enters the game and replaces G. Xhaka.
Arsenal make their third and final substitution, with Xhaka coming off and he has been replaced by new signing, Lucas Torreira.
68'
Penalty shout! Mustafi goes down in the penalty area after a tussle with Mendy at a set piece. The City defender appeared to have hold of Mustafi, but the referee waved away his appeals. We saw a few similar situations given as penalties during the World Cup.
64'
Bernardo Silva has scored a goal for Manchester City! Assist by B. Mendy.
Mendy used his pace and power to carve out that goal, the left-back set up Silva perfectly, who made no mistakes with the finish from close range.
GOOOAAALLL! CITY LEAD 2-0. Bernardo Silva doubles the Champions lead, after a shaky 10 minutes in which Arsenal were starting to get on top. Mendy races forward down the left, plays a one-two with Sterling and the cuts the ball back to Silva who fired the ball past Cech, who had no chance.
63'
WHAT A CHANCE! Aguero should've scored! It was a simple long ball up the pitch and Guendouzi completely misjudges the flight of the ball which allows Aguero to run through on goal, he should square the ball to De Bruyne, but he goes for goal himself and Cech makes a superb save.
62'
Arsenal are playing much better in this second half, they are keeping the ball well and are limiting the threat from City. However, they are struggling to carve open any goalscoring chances, despite having Aubameyang and Lazacette up front now.
60'
K. De Bruyne enters the game and replaces R. Mahrez.
Manchester City make their first substitution of the afternoon, with Mahrez coming off and he has been replaced by De Bruyne.
56'
ARSENAL CHANCE! Lazacette goes close with his first touches of the game! Mkhitaryan lays the ball off for his team-mate on the edge of the box, he takes the ball down and then hits the ball on the volley, but it goes narrowly wide of the post.
54'
A. Lacazette enters the game and replaces A. Ramsey.
Arsenal make their second substitution of the game, with Ramsey the man coming off the pitch and he has been replaced by Lacazette.
52'
G. Xhaka gets yellow.
Xhaka is shown a yellow card by the referee after clipping the heels of Aguero, as he broke forward on the counter-attack.
50'
Decent chance! Mendy drives towards goal, his effort at goal takes a big deflection off Bellerin though, before the rebound falls at the feet of Aguero just outside the area. The striker takes aim but his shot flies high and wide. The referee awards a corner, it must've taken a slight nick off an Arsenal defender. However, the resulting corner doesn't come to anything.
48'
A quieter start to this half, City are controlling possession but aren't showing the same attacking intent as they did for much of the opening half.
46'
The second half is underway!
45' +4
HALF-TIME: ARSENAL 0-1 MANCHESTER CITY
45'
There will be a minimum of four minutes added time played.
Aubameyang manages to get into a dangerous area of the pitch for the first time in the match. The striker has barely touched the ball so far. He tries his luck from 25 yards out from goal, but he drags it well wide of Ederson's goal. Poor effort in the end.
42'
CLOSE! Mahrez beats Lichtsteiner and manages to get a shot away, but it flies just wide of the far post. A good City league debut so far for the former Leicester man.
41'
Arsenal are giving the ball away far too easily, a few sloppy passes which are handing the ball straight back to City in dangerous areas of the pitch. However, credit to City for their high pressing because this and their pace is what is causing the Gunners to make these mistakes.
39'
Not long left until the break now, can City extend their lead? Arsenal will be thankful that they are only one goal behind, they have been exposed on far too many occasions already today.
37'
Lichtsteiner is using his years of experience to combat the threat of Mahrez, he is getting out to the winger much quicker and not allowing him time and space to run at him.
35'
S. Lichtsteiner enters the game and replaces A. Maitland-Niles.
Maitland-Niles is unable to run off the problem he picked up a few moments ago and he has been replaced by Lichtsteiner.
34'
A good move from Arsenal as Ramsey gets the better of Fernandinho on the right-hand side, using his pace to beat the City skipper. The Welshman cuts the ball back to Ozil, who lays it off to Mkhitaryan inside the penalty area. However, he doesn't make up his mind quickly enough on what to do next and City manage to clear the danger.
32'
The Gunners left-back has returned to the pitch, it looks like he is going to try and run off the injury. He certainly needs more protection down the flank, Mkhitaryan isn't helping out much defensively which is adding to the problem.
30'
Maitland-Niles is down receiving treatment at the moment after a coming together with Walker deep down the left flank. The Arsenal man looks to have a problem here, he might not be able to continue.
28'
GREAT SAVES! Cech makes a superb save to deny Mahrez from the free-kick, gets a big, strong hand to the ball. He then has to quickly make another stop to deny Laporte from close range as the rebound fell perfectly into the centre-backs path.
27'
S. Papastathopoulos gets yellow.
Sokratis is shown the first yellow card of the game as he brings Aguero down, right on the edge of the penalty area. City now have a free-kick in an excellent position.
26'
Arsenal don't look comfortable at the back, they are being opened up by City almost every time they venture forward. It could be a long afternoon for the Gunners!
22'
City then go straight up the other end and have a chance of their own! However, Aguero fires his effort just wide and doesn't trouble Cech. The Arsenal keeper then takes a short goal-kick, receives the ball back from Guendouzi and he tries to play it straight out to the left, but he only just misses his far post and his pass goes out for a corner! He's lucky not to have scored an own goal!
21'
ARSENAL CHANCE! Bellerin takes down a cross brilliantly, beats Mendy who dived into the tackle. The Spaniard then fires a low effort at goal, but Ederson gets down quickly to make his first save of the game. Much better.
19'
Better from Arsenal, they capitalised on an error from Mendy, working the ball into a good attacking position. However, Xhaka plays a poor ball out to the wing and it flies straight out of play. He should be doing better there, just secure possession for a few minutes and allow your teammates to catch their breath back after a frantic start.
17'
It's all Man City at the moment and they look incredibly comfortable in all areas of the pitch. Arsenal need to try and calm the storm because City look eager to score more goals early on, which could make the game out of Arsenal's reach.
14'
R. Sterling has scored a goal for Manchester City! Assist by B. Mendy.
GOOOAAALLL! MAN CITY LEAD 1-0! Sterling opens up the scoring here at the Emirates and the Champions take an early lead. It's a terrific solo effort from the winger, he cuts inside from the left, takes on two Arsenal players and then just places the ball into the bottom corner. Cech had no chance of saving that, but it's far too easy for Sterling after poor defending by the Gunners as they didn't close him down quick enough.
Mendy picked up the ball on the edge of the box and then lays it off to Sterling who makes the finish look easy. Superb goal.
11'
City are forcing Arsenal to sit deeper and deeper now, they are playing quick football in the hosts half and it has certainly quietened this home crowd. If the first 10 minutes are anything to go by, Maitland-Niles is going to have a difficult afternoon ahead of him, trying to cope with the pace of Mahrez and Walker on the overlap.
9'
GREAT CHANCE! Sterling forces Cech into making a superb stop at his near post to deny the winger an opening goal. It was a lovely move by the visitors as Aguero feeds Sterling deep inside the box, he then turns and fires his shot at goal.
8'
Arsenal have another tough game coming up next weekend as they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, a difficult start to the new campaign.
6'
City get forward for the first time through Mahrez and Walker down the right, their pace down that wing could terrify defences this season! Walker whips a ball into the box but he gets too much on it and Arsenal begin to control the game once more.
4'
R. Sterling gets yellow.
Sterling picks up an early yellow card, after a strong tackle on Guendouzi.
3'
Arsenal have the first chance at goal. Sokratis Papastathopoulos wins the ball in the middle of the park, heading the ball onto Ramsey who latches onto it before trying to place it into the back of the net, but Ederson comfortably gathers.
2'
Arsenal got us underway here and they are playing the ball nicely around the pitch, getting Bellerin forward down the right. However Mendy deals with the threat well and the visitors clear the danger.
1'
We're underway!
Good afternoon and welcome to our live match commentary of the Premier League clash between Arsenal and Manchester City at the Emirates.
Manchester City begin their title defence against Unai Emery's Arsenal - who are led into the new season by a new manager for the first time in 22 years. A tough start to the new season.
City cruised to the title last season, breaking nine records and equaling another in a season that saw the division's first-ever 100-point haul. The question is if they can repeat this feat again and if can anyone get close to them. The Champions are fresh from beating Chelsea in the Community Shield last weekend, the perfect way to start their new campaign.
All eyes will be on Emery, as he prepares to fill the hole left by Arsene Wenger. The Gunners are once again without Champions League football next season but they did reach the semi-finals of the Europa League, but were knocked out by eventual winners Atletico Madrid.
ARSENAL SUBS: Bernd Leno, Mohamed Elneny, Alexandre Lacazette, Lucas Torreira, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Rob Holding, Alex Iwobi
Let's take a look at the teams...
MAN CITY SUBS: Claudio Bravo, Vincent Kompany, Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane, Nicolas Otamendi, Gabriel Jesus, Phil Foden.
Both teams have added quality recruits ahead of the 2018-19 season, with City's major addition being Riyad Mahrez, who joined from Leicester City. Meanwhile Emery has also added to his squad, with Sokratis joining from Dortmund and Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria.
ARSENAL (4-2-3-1): Petr Cech (GK & C); Hector Bellerin, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Shkodran Mustafi, Ainsley Maitland-Niles; Matteo Guendouzi, Granit Xhaka; Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil; Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Arsenal have two new signings in their starting XI, with Sokratis and Guendouzi making their debuts. Petr Cech starts ahead of Bernd Leno in goal and captains the team, with Torreira and Lichtsteiner on the bench. Mahrez is handed a place in the starting line-up, as De Bruyne and Sane are named as substitutes for City.
MAN CITY (4-3-3): Ederson (GK); Kyle Walker, John Stones, Aymeric Laporte, Benjamin Mendy; Bernardo Silva, Fernandinho (C), Ilkay Gundogan; Riyad Mahrez, Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling.
The teams are out at the Emirates and kick-off is just moments away! Stay tuned for all of the match action.
Manchester City have dominated the majority of the game and deservedly head into the break with a 1-0 lead. Sterling's brilliant solo goal in the 14th minute is what separates the two sides, but the scoreline could and should be more in favour of City who look dangerous every time they get into the Arsenal final third.
Arsenal had a couple of chances of their own, with Bellerin testing Ederson but they haven't got forward enough and defensively they have looked shaky, giving the ball away far too easily with sloppy passes. Emery has it all to do at half-time if his side are able to get back into this game.
That's all from us folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
Goals from Sterling and Bernardo Silva clinch a 2-0 victory for Manchester City at the Emirates. A tough start to the season for Emery, as his Arsenal side struggled to keep up with the Champions on many occasions this afternoon and they were lucky to go into the break just one goal behind. However, they rallied in the second half, but just couldn't create any real chances to get back into the game.
It doesn't get any easier for Arsenal either, as they face Chelsea next weekend and there are plenty of things for Emery to work on with this side during the week. Despite being without a number of players due to injury and international players who have only just returned after the World Cup, City's quality shone through and they wrapped up a comfortable victory in the end.
