Gomes is on for the final seconds, replacing Stones.
90' +4
CRUCIAL BLOCK! Crucial in the sense that it denies City a third, not that it has any scope on the result. Rudiger does excellently here to make a save, essentially, with Caballero caught out after snuffing out the initial opportunity from Gabriel Jesus.
90' +2
SHOULD BE THREE! Diaz had has his share of chances since coming on, but hasn't been able to get the better of Caballero! He's played clean through on goal here, with no Chelsea defender in sight, but Caballero does brilliantly to close down the angle and make himself big to deny the substitute.
90'
There will be a minimum of four minutes added on at the end of this match.
89'
HOW IS IT NOT 2-1?! Chelsea break two against one, and the ball into the centre from Barkley, for Abraham, is good, but Bravo does enough to make the initial save, before Moses' rebound from point-blank range is put wide! Shocking.
87'
N. Otamendi enters the game and replaces Aymeric Laporte.
A fifth City change sees Laporte give way for Otamendi.
86'
The Chelsea supporters are flooding to the exits here with the match wrapped up. All the Blues can do is learn from this, ahead of their Premier League opener against Huddersfield Town on Saturday. City, meanwhile, will face Arsenal on Sunday, and the Gunners new manager Unai Emery is in attendance at Wembley today.
84'
Two more saves for Caballero, as the City shot count continues to rise. Chelsea haven't managed an attack in what seems like ages. Sarri's team is well-organised, but there's obviously a lot more work still to be done. They're really missing Hazard here, while City don't seem to be missing De Bruyne or Sterling one bit.
80'
V. Kompany enters the game and replaces S. Agüero.
And Aguero is off for City, whose supporters show their appreciation, as Kompany takes his place for some added stability as they look to see this one out.
79'
V. Moses enters the game and replaces Pedro.
Moses replaces Pedro with Chelsea's fourth switch of the match.
SIDE-NETTING! Diaz is picked out by Aguero on the right, and weaves his way into the penalty area, but can't get the finish right as he misses the target at the near post. It's one-way traffic here into the final 10 minutes at Wembley.
Minute
Description
78'
Time winding down now on Chelsea, who aren't seeing much of the ball at all. City are seeing this out in a very professional manner, set to spoil Sarri's competitive debut and kick their campaign off with yet another trophy.
76'
Brahim Díaz enters the game and replaces P. Foden.
City make another change as Foden goes off to a thunderous applause from the City supporters, replaced by Diaz.
71'
BIG SAVE! Aguero is denied his hat-trick, as Caballero does really well to get across and parry a well-struck volley from the striker, on the end of a lovely cross from Walker. City smell blood and are looking to put this game to bed.
69'
T. Abraham enters the game and replaces Álvaro Morata.
A third change for Chelsea is a needed one, as Abraham replaces the toothless Morata.
68'
Gabriel Jesus enters the game and replaces R. Mahrez.
Mahrez's City debut will end without him getting on the scoresheet, as he's replaced here by Gabriel Jesus, fresh off signing a new City deal.
66'
Looking to get in on the act is Mahrez, and he comes close with a vintage left-footed strike from outside the area that has Caballero beaten, but it glances just wide of the far post!
62'
City have a spring in their step now, and understandably so. They're looking awfully assured here as they aim to lift the Community Shield for the first time since 2012. Chelsea still just have the one shot on target to their name.
60'
D. Drinkwater enters the game and replaces Cesc Fàbregas.
Drinkwater also enters the fray, with Fabregas the one withdrawn.
59'
Willian enters the game and replaces C. Hudson-Odoi.
Sarri's first change as Chelsea boss sees him introduce Willian at the expense of Hudson-Odoi.
58'
S. Agüero has scored a goal for Manchester City! Assist by Bernardo Silva.
Bernardo Silva provides the assist with a lovely throughball.
THERE IT IS! 2-0 CITY! Aguero doesn't miss this time! He has his second of the match, and his 201st City goal, and this one might just do Chelsea in! He gets on the end of a wonderfully worked move, played through on the end by Bernardo Silva, and squeezes a finish beyond Caballero and in at the near post!
56'
Chelsea manage their first attack of the second half and win themselves a corner, which Bravo has to be sharp to clear at the near post. The Blues need to be making more of their opportunities though, with Morata just not getting the job done at all up top.
52'
Foden nearly turns provider to scorer, as he's picked out in space in the penalty area, aiming to fire into the near bottom corner, but Caballero is wise to it, getting down quickly to make the save.
50'
HOW HAS HE MISSED THAT?! An absolutely massive chance for Aguero to put the game out of reach, as he springs the offside trap to be played clean through on goal, before rounding Caballero, but then putting his shot into the side netting! The angle wasn't even that tight! He absolutely will be wondering how he hasn't scored there.
48'
It has been an energetic start to the second half from both teams, who are showing plenty of intent to get forward. In the meantime, Willian is warming up for Chelsea as Sarri ponders making his first change.
46'
İ. Gündoğan enters the game and replaces L. Sané.
Manchester City get the second half underway!
Guardiola makes one change at the break, as Gundogan replaces Sane. This will likely push Bernardo Silva forward onto the wing.
45'
There will be a minimum of two minutes added on at the end of this first half.
41'
Play comes to a halt as Pedro goes down and stays down following a challenge, and a clean one at that, from Fernandinho. He looks to be in some pain after the hard coming together, but it doesn't appear to be anything he can't walk off.
39'
Chelsea really have been dominating possession here, but have not got a whole lot to show for it. City's shape off the ball has been excellent. They're keeping Chelsea pinned to the periphery, closing every channel the Blues look to get into. Defensively, this has been excellent from the reigning Premier League champions.
37'
Swiftly, City counter, with Mahrez presented with a nice look inside the penalty area, but he gets his feet all mixed up as he tries to switch onto his left, giving David Luiz enough time to snuff out the danger.
35'
Hudson-Odoi gets on the end of another Chelsea attack, this time testing Bravo, who makes a meal of it, with a low effort, but City manage to clear their lines. Possession is handed straight back to the Blues, however, who again have set up camp in the attacking half.
31'
FLASHED OVER! Hudson-Odoi certainly isn't lacking in confidence - nor should he be following his excellent pre-season. He's picked out here on the left flank, before cutting inside onto his right and lifting a decent effort just a bit over the target.
29'
Back underway at Wembley, and the tempo picks right back up. Chelsea are enjoying a decent spell of possession inside the attacking half, but they are just lacking that bit of cutting edge when they break into the final third.
27'
Football is back in the UK, but it's still early August, and it's a hot one in London. The players have a water break right now as the first half gets a bit of an intermission.
25'
Well if this first quarter of the match is anything to go by, there certainly appears to be more goals in this one. You can already see the difference in Chelsea from Conte to Sarri, in their tempo, their pressing and their shape. Morata has a decent look here at an equaliser, but bends an effort wide of the top corner.
23'
Just a heavy touch! Sane is presented with a partial break through on goal, but can't get the first touch right as Caballero is quick to react, surging off his line to collect at the vital moment.
19'
The end-to-end action at Wembley has been an absolute joy to watch. Aguero goes in search of his second and forces Caballero into a smart save, if nothing more than to relieve the pressure Chelsea had been applying. A lovely watch, this.
17'
SMART TOUCH FROM BRAVO! Fabregas bends in an exquisite free-kick that is just begging to be tapped in at the far post, but Bravo surges off his line and dives out to get a strong hand to it, clearing the danger!
15'
Good response here from Chelsea, quick to put that goal behind them and get straight into attack. An inviting ball in leads to a corner, and then the pressure which ensues from that set-piece results in yet another for the Blues... only they can't make anything of the second.
13'
S. Agüero has scored a goal for Manchester City! Assist by P. Foden.
CITY GOAL NUMBER 200 FOR SERGIO AGUERO! 1-0! Guardiola's side have a deserved lead in the Community Shield! Aguero takes a pass from Foden, sets himself up nicely for the shot with his first touch and buries the second into the bottom corner from the top of the penalty area! This on the end of another excellent burst forward.
Foden provides the assist with a simple square ball on the edge of the box.
12'
The one thing to like about this start from Chelsea is the way they're attacking off the ball. There is a great energy about them as they press in numbers, forcing City to move the ball around quickly.
10'
Caballero has yet to be tested in the Chelsea goal, but it certainly hasn't been for a lack of chances from City. Guardiola's side are looking wonderfully direct in possession, so quick to get forward when they win the ball, asking a number of questions of this Blues defence.
6'
The end result of the free-kick is a let-off for Chelsea, as Mahrez smacks his effort straight into the wall...
5'
All City in these opening stages, as they slice through the Chelsea defence like a hot knife through butter. Sane leads the charge again here, sprinting to the byline before pulling it back into the centre, but Aguero just can't get on the end of it. Seconds later it's Bernardo Silva who wins a free-kick in a threatening position.
3'
Mahrez gets on the end of the first attack of the match, finding a decent pocket of space inside the penalty area, but his left-footed effort is blocked. Guardiola's side keep the pressure on, but Chelsea have some respite as Sane fires wide from 25 yards.
1'
AND THEY'RE OFF! Chelsea in their dark blue strip as they get the match underway, with City in light blue.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Community Shield as reigning Premier League champions Manchester City and FA Cup winners Chelsea clash at Wembley Stadium!
The Community Shield may lack the same glitz and glamour as some of the other big matches on the English football calendar, but it’s the one match that packs a ton of anticipation, as it signals the dawn of a new season!
Manchester City set the bar extremely high last season, cruising to the Premier League title on the back of a historic campaign, while winning the Carabao Cup to complete the domestic double. Pep Guardiola’s side will be aiming to build on that in 2019/20.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are looking for a fresh start. Maurizio Sarri has arrived from Napoli, bringing his unique managerial flair and eccentric personality to London following an three-year stint at Stadio San Paolo.
Despite some excellent campaigns at the helm in Naples, and an impressive record in the transfer market, Sarri has never won a major trophy in his lengthy coaching career – a troubling trend he can quite remarkably break in just his first competitive match with Cheslea.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
CHELSEA (4-3-3): Willy Caballero; Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, David Luiz, Marcos Alonso; Cesc Fabregas, Jorginho, Ross Barkley; Pedro, Callum Hudson-Odio, Alvaro Morata.
MANCHESTER CITY (4-3-3): Claudio Bravo; Kyle Walker, John Stones, Aymeric Laporte, Benjamin Mendy; Bernardo Silva, Fernandinho, Phil Foden; Riyad Mahrez, Leroy Sane, Sergio Aguero.
SUBS: Marcin Bulka, Andreas Christensen, Davide Zappacosta, Tammy Abraham, Daniel Drinkwater, Victor Moses, Willian.
SUBS: Brahim Diaz, Nicolas Otamendi, Claudio Gomes, Vincent Kompany, Ederson, Gabriel Jesus, Ilkay Gundogan.
For the first time in a while, Chelsea have reverted to a back four and it should stay this way with Sarri in town. Alonso and Azpilicueta man the flanks, while Jorginho makes his Chelsea debut in midfield, alongside Barkley, who impressed Sarri in pre-season. Talented youngster Hudson-Odoi also starts, as Chelsea are without Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois, Michy Batshuayi, Ngolo Kante or Olivier Giroud following their World Cup participation.
Guardiola is without World Cup semi-finalists Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling, but Walker, Stones, Mendy, Bernardo Silva, Fernandinho and Aguero are back from the tournament to start. While Chelsea fans will have eyes on Hudson-Odoi, City supporters will be keen for Foden, who starts in midfield, while Mahrez makes his competitive debut for the club.
HALF-TIME: CHELSEA 0-1 MANCHESTER CITY.
Sergio Aguero's 200th Manchester City goal - the first player to reach the landmark for the club - has the reigning Premier League champions leading at the break, but they have been quiet since their opening flurry, with Chelsea bossing possession as they aim to claw their way back into this match. It should be a very interesting 45 minutes to come!
FULL-TIME: CHELSEA 0-2 MANCHESTER CITY.
Manchester City spoil Maurizio Sarri's competitive debut as Chelsea boss, as Sergio Aguero nets a brace - his 200th and 201st City goals - to capture the Citizens their first trophy of the 2018/19 season! That's all for our live coverage, thanks for following along. Goodbye.
