A lofted pass is fired up towards the Leicester penalty area as West Brom desperately throw everything they've got at the visitors, but it fails to result in anything as the reigning champions are easily able to hold on. That should be that.
90' +3
Leko twists and turns deep down the right wing before firing a cross off Fuchs and out for a throw-in. It's sent short to Dawson, who then curls a deep cross over to the far post, where McClean does well to meet the ball but can only send his headed effort bouncing wide of the near post.
90' +1
Albrighton loses his balance as he tries to weave his way into the right-hand side of the West Brom box, but, somehow, the referee instead awards him a free-kick. It's taken short and results in a corner, and it's one that Leicester take plenty of time with as they aim to run down the clock.
90'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be four minutes of added time.
89'
West Brom are starting to get increasingly frustrated as they try, and fail, to find a late equaliser. Once again, Chadli makes a nuisance of himself just outside of the penalty area, but Ndidi shields the ball well before forcing the Baggies midfielder into fouling him.
87'
Almost a costly mistake by Huth! The German defender nonchalantly lets a bouncing ball sail over his head and towards Schmeichel, but Chadli is there to pick up the ball ahead of him. Luckily for Leicester, he can't do much with the ball and the visitors are just about able to hold on.
85'
Great chance for Rondon! Brunt whips a beautiful cross into the heart of the Leicester box and picks out Rondon in a fantastic position, but the Venezuelan is unable to make decent contact with the ball and sends his glancing header well wide of the goal.
83'
West Brom push plenty of bodies forward as they try to carve out a chance on goal, but they're unable to do so and Vardy is eventually fouled by Dawson, resulting in a free-kick for Leicester that, understandly, they take their time with.
82'
Andy King has come on to replace Mahrez for Leicester. It looks as if the visitors are going to sit deep and defend their slender lead.
81'
A. King enters the game and replaces R. Mahrez.
Huge opportunity for Mahrez to wrap up the win! The Algerian cuts inside from the right flank and takes on McAuley before shooting, but his curling strike sails just wide of the far post after leaving Foster rooted to the spot.
Minute
Description
80'
Big call by the referee! Rondon charges into the Leicester penalty area and takes on Huth, who barges the Venezuelan to the ground off the ball. The West Brom players and fans all scream for a penalty, but the referee isn't interested and waves play on.
79'
J. Leko enters the game and replaces J. Morrison.
West Brom have made a late, attacking alteration, with Morrison making way for Jonathan Leko.
78'
Chance for Morrison! West Brom are really putting pressure on the Leicester back line as they continue piling forward. McClean, who has looked bright since coming off the bench, swings in a great cross from the left flank and picks out Morrison, who meets the ball well but can only send his headed effort straight to Schmeichel.
76'
McClean twists and turns on the left-hand side of the Leicester penalty area as he takes on Benalouane. He beats the centre-back before fizzing a low pass across the face of goal, but it deflects off the leg of Schmeichel and out of play for a corner.
75'
Huge chance for Dawson! Fletcher lifts a lovely cross over the top of the Leicester defence and into the path of Dawson, who seems to react too late and is unable to make decent contact with the ball, resulting in it bouncing out for a goal-kick.
73'
Mahrez is dispossessed deep down the right flank and West Brom counter quickly. Morrison does well to pick out Jake Livermore before the latter tries to set up Chadli, but his pass towards the edge of the box is poor and fails to find the Belgian.
71'
West Brom are starting push more bodies forward as time begins to run out. Once again, they're able to carve out a decent chance on goal after a promising cross is curled into the penalty area, but Leicester have enough players back to deal with the danger.
69'
D. Fletcher enters the game and replaces C. Yacob.
West Brom have made another change, with Yacob making way for Darren Fletcher in the middle of the pitch.
68'
After struggling in the first half, Albrighton is starting to find far more joy whenever he pushes forward. This time he skips past Chadli with ease before swinging a cross into the box, but, once again, it's well cleared by the West Brom back line.
67'
L. Ulloa enters the game and replaces S. Okazaki.
Leicester have made their first alteration of the afternoon, with Okazaki making way for Leonardo Ulloa.
66'
J. Morrison gets yellow.
Morrison dives into Mahrez as the two battle for a loose, bouncing ball, and it's the Leicester midfielder who comes off worst as he's clattered into by the West Brom man, resulting in the referee reaching for his yellow card once again.
65'
Excellent interception by McAuley! Fuchs fires a wonderful lofted pass into the West Brom penalty area and towards Vardy, but as soon as it's about to meet the striker, McAuley sticks out a foot to deny him the opportunity to score his second goal of the game.
63'
Morrison holds up the ball on the edge of the Leicester penalty area before being dragged to the ground by Drinkwater, leaving the referee with no choice but to award a free-kick to the hosts. Chadli steps up and shoots, but his curling strike sails a yard or two over the top of the crossbar.
60'
J. McClean enters the game and replaces A. Nyom.
West Brom have decided to make an attacking substitution, with Nyom making way for James McClean.
59'
Mahrez hits the post! A poor pass from Nyom is cut out by Ndidi and allows Leicester to counter quickly. The ball is worked forward quickly and finds Mahrez on the edge of the penalty area, and the Algerian unleashes a great low strike that clatters off the outside of the near post.
57'
Vardy causes problems for the home side once again as he breaks into the right-hand side of the penalty area and tries to pick out Okazaki once again, but this time Evans is there to clear the danger at the near post.
55'
Nyom battles his way down the left wing before forcing Danny Simpson into poking the ball out for a corner. It's fired in by Chadli and finds Dawson, who sends a bullet header towards goal that deflects off the back of Brunt and over the top of the crossbar.
53'
A curling cross is swung into the heart of the penalty area and finds Dawson, who rises high to meet the ball, but he's unable to hit the target with his headed effort and sends it comfortably wide of the far post.
52'
Y. Benalouane gets yellow.
James Morrison charges towards the Leicester box before going down under a challenge from Benalouane, who is shown a yellow card and concedes a free-kick in a promising position 30 yards away from goal.
50'
West Brom keep putting pressure on the Leicester back line as they desperately try to find an equaliser. Two crosses from the right fail to pick out team-mates before the ball rolls out to Yacob, who quickly unleashes a wildly optimistic strike that sails well wide of the goal.
48'
And then Rondon goes close! Brunt and Rondon link up well on the edge of the Leicester penalty area before the latter eventually gets a shot away, but it doesn't have enough power behind it to trouble Schmeichel.
47'
Early chance for Okazaki! Vardy picks up the ball on the left-hand side of the West Brom box and spins quickly before fizzing a low pass across the face of goal. It looks set to find the outstretched leg of Okazaki, but the ball rolls just past the Japanese striker.
46'
We're underway once again!
45' +2
Rondon goes close! West Brom push forward on one last attack and do well to win themselves a corner, which quickly results in another. The second set-piece is swung in by Chadli and finds Rondon, but the striker's glancing header flies just past the far post.
45'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be two minutes of added time.
43'
J. Vardy has scored a goal for Leicester City! Assist by S. Okazaki.
Okazaki did really well to pounce on the error by Nyom, but the goal was certainly avoidable. The Cameroon defender wasn't put under any sort of pressure and should have been more aware of his surroundings.
GOAL! A truly terrible attempted back pass from Nyom can only find Okazaki, who picks up the ball and moves it on to Vardy. The striker bursts through the disjointed West Brom back line before unleashing a great strike, and it's one that loops over Ben Foster before finding the back of the net.
42'
Chance for Ndidi! A Leicester corner from the right wing isn't fully cleared by the West Brom defence and falls to Ndidi, who takes a quick touch before shooting. His strike is poorly timed and rushed, though, and it ends up bouncing well wide of the goal.
41'
Dawson flies into the back of Ndidi and gives away a free-kick midway down the left flank. Albrighton's curling cross into the box is a decent enough, but the home side have plenty of bodies back and can easily deal with the danger.
39'
Brunt makes a nuisance of himself on the edge of the Leicester penalty area before spinning and unleashing a thumping volley, but he's surrounded by blue shirts and the effort fails to trouble Schmeichel.
37'
A half-hearted West Brom attack comes to a disappointing end and allows Leicester to counter quickly. They initially work the ball forward well before Mahrez curls in a cross from the right wing, but it's poorly hit by the Algerian and fails to pick out a team-mate.
35'
It's not quite working for Leicester, who are enjoying plenty of the ball but are struggling to do much with it. After failing to find their way through the West Brom midfielder, Benalouane eventually fires a hopeful ball forwards to Okazaki, but it completely misses the Japan international and sails out for a goal-kick.
33'
Rondon is pushed to the ground from behind by Drinkwater, resulting in a free-kick for West Brom in a promising position. It's sent short to Chadli, who then unleashes a thumping low shot, but the strike is poor and Schmeichel can watch it roll comfortably wide of the goal.
31'
Fuchs darts down the left flank before curling a lovely cross into the West Brom box, but, unfortunately for the Austrian, there's nobody there to meet it. Ndidi is able to pick up the ball over on the right flank but is quickly closed down and has to settle for a corner.
29'
Allan Nyom, who hasn't had much joy going forward so far, gets himself into a good position over on the left wing before trying to swing a cross into the penalty area. It fails to find a team-mate, however, and it deflects off Riyad Mahrez and into the hands of Schmeichel.
27'
Brunt cuts inside and does well to pick up the ball in a pocket of space just outside of the Leicester penalty area. He then knocks a clever pass into the box and over to Chadli, who takes a quick touch before forcing Schmeichel into making a decent save at the near post.
26'
West Brom win back possession once again before trying to kick-start a quick counter-attack, but a lofted, cross-field pass over to the right wing is slightly mishit and flies past the outstretched foot of Dawson.
24'
Leicester move the ball around nicely deep inside the West Brom half of the pitch as they enjoy a decent spell of possession, but, as has often been the case so far today, the lack the necessary final ball and the home side are easily able to deal with the threat.
22'
C. Yacob gets yellow.
The game gets underway once again after McAuley is patched up. It quickly comes to a stop once again, though, as Claudio Yacob catches Okazaki with his elbow and earns himself a yellow card.
20'
Plenty of poor challenges and flailing arms have been on show during the opening 20 minutes, and this time it's Gareth McAuley who finds himself on the receiving end of a clattering. It was purely accidental, however, as Benalouane butted heads with the centre-back as they both battled for the ball.
18'
What a save by Schmeichel! Brunt leaves Fuchs for dead as he charges into the box and meets a lovely, looping cross, but the midfielder's header from close range is tipped over the top of the crossbar by a great stop from the Leicester captain.
17'
The resulting free-kick is curled into the Leicester penalty area and towards Evans, but Robert Huth rises high above the West Brom centre-back and does well to beat him to the ball.
16'
D. Drinkwater gets yellow.
Drinkwater, who has been flying into tackles since the start of the game, brings Chadli crashing to the ground with a reckless sliding challenge, leaving the referee with no choice but to show the midfielder a yellow card.
14'
Rondon causes problems for the Leicester back line once again as he battles with Benalouane on the edge of the visitors' box, but, after doing well to set up Dawson, the full-back catches Danny Drinkwater with a raised arm and concedes a free-kick.
12'
Rondon is clattered into from behind by Yohan Benalouane, resulting in a free-kick for West Brom in a very dangerous position 25 yards away from goal. Chris Brunt steps up and shoots, but his curling effort loops high over the top of the crossbar.
10'
West Brom pile plenty of bodies down the right wing once again as they try to carve out a chance on goal, but, once again, Fuchs is there to dispossess Chadli before the Belgian can get himself into a decent enough position to unleash a cross.
8'
A clever cross-field pass from Jonny Evans finds Craig Dawson deep down the right flank. The full-back meets it well before trying to pick out Nacer Chadli, but his low pass is easily cut out by Christian Fuchs.
6'
Shinji Okazaki and Wilfred Ndidi link up really well just outside of the West Brom box before the latter shoots, but his strike is deflected just wide of the near post. The resulting corner is whipped towards the near post but fails to result in a chance on goal due to good defending by the hosts.
4'
Jamie Vardy darts through the West Brom back line and does well latch on to a loose ball deep down the left flank. He then spins and tries to link up with Marc Albrighton, but the two aren't on the same wavelength and the ball fails to find the winger.
2'
West Brom immediately push forward as they try to put their opponents under plenty of early pressure. A looping cross is fired towards the far post and finds Salomon Rondon, but the striker's header from a tight angle deflects into the hands of Kasper Schmeichel.
1'
We're off! West Brom get us underway, attacking from left to right.
Good afternoon and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Premier League game between West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City at the Hawthorns.
With six points separating themselves and the relegation zone, Leicester aren’t safe from the drop just yet, but a win here today would surely confirm their place in the Premier League for another season. Craig Shakespeare has done an excellent job of steering the Foxes away from danger since taking over from Claudio Ranieri, but his side currently find themselves on a slightly worrying three-game winless run.
Arsenal were the latest side to get the better of Leicester, although the Gunners’ victory only came courtesy of a late Robert Huth own-goal. With Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur still to play, the reigning champions will be viewing today’s clash as a must-win for them, especially as their opponents haven’t been in the best of form in recent weeks.
Another season, another 40-point barrier smashed by a Tony Pulis team, meaning that West Brom are not only safe from relegation but also have a great chance of finishing in the top half of the table for the first time in four years. They’re also only two wins away from surpassing their Premier League points record of 49, but they’ll have to perform much better here today than they have during April so far if they’re to get the better of Leicester.
Bar a surprising, but well-deserved, victory against Arsenal a month and a half ago, it’s been a slightly disappointing two-month period for West Brom, who seem to have taken their foot off the pedal since confirming their safety. Five of their last seven league games have ended in defeat, with Watford, Southampton and Liverpool all getting the better of the Baggies in their last three outings.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this afternoon…
West Bromwich Albion XI (4-3-3): Forster; Dawson, McAuley, Evans, Nyom; Morrison, Livermore, Yacob; Chadli, Rondon, Brunt.
Leicester City substitutes: Zieler, Chilwell, Amartey, King, Gray, Slimani, Ulloa.
Leicester City XI (4-4-2): Schmeichel; Simpson, Benalouane, Huth, Fuchs; Mahrez, Drinkwater, Ndidi, Albrighton; Okazaki, Vardy.
Tony Pulis has decided to make two changes to the West Brom side that started the 1-0 defeat against Liverpool last weekend, with Allan Nyom and James Morrison coming into the starting line-up to replace Darren Fletcher and Matt Phillips.
Meanwhile, Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare has made just one alteration to the team that featured in their last outing, with Leonardo Ulloa making way for Shinji Okazaki.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: WEST BROMWICH ALBION 0-1 LEICESTER CITY
It hasn't been the best of games for either side so far, but it's Leicester who head into the break with a one-goal lead thanks to a poor mistake by Nyom. The reigning champions have largely struggled up front, where they've barely tested Foster, but all it took was one chance for Vardy to fire them into the lead.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
FULL-TIME: WEST BROMWICH ALBION 0-1 LEICESTER CITY
For the fifth league game in a row, West Brom were unable to find the back of the net, and it means that they have to leave with their fourth defeat in as many games. They were on the front foot for most of the second half and were presented with good opportunities to score, but, in the end, they couldn't do enough to get the better of Leicester's resolute back line.
The victory all but confirms Leicester's place in next season's Premier League, highlighting what a good job Craig Shakespeare has done since taking over. They now sit nine points clear of 18th-place Swansea City, who are in action tomorrow afternoon.
