There's no time to take the corner, however, as the referee immediately blows his whistle to bring an end to the game. Handanovic isn't at all happy with the decision though, and he receives a yellow card for dissent.
90' +4
S. Cristóforo gets yellow.
One last chance for Inter! Cristoforo commits a clumsy challenge and allows Inter to pump the ball into the box one final time. They do so and pick out Candreva, but he's quickly closed down and the ball is deflected out for a corner.
90' +3
Astori clears off the line! Another corner causes problems for the Fiorentina defence, who almost concede yet again. The ball is deflected out to Brozovic, who unleashes a rocket of a shot from 25 yards out, but it's thumped away by Astori before it can find the back of the net.
90' +1
M. Icardi has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by A. Candreva.
That was a lovely, swinging cross from Candreva to pick out his captain, but Fiorentina really should have done better. They left the striker all alone in a pocket of space right in front of goal.
GOAL! It's another for Inter! Gagliardini bursts down the right-hand edge of the Fiorentina penalty area before winning his side a late corner. It's curled into the box and right on to the head of Icardi, who beats Tatarusanu with a bullet header from close range. What an end to the game!
90'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be four minutes of added time.
88'
M. Icardi has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by I. Perišić.
On what has been a dismal night for Inter, Perisic has arguably been their best player. He's always looked dangerous inside the final third of the pitch and has even operated well as a left-wing-back.
GOAL! Inter have pulled one back! The visitors enjoy themselves inside the Fiorentina half of the pitch for the first time this half as they move the ball around nicely. A great cross is then fired into the box and towards Icardi, who controls the ball beautifully before spinning and firing a wonderful strike off the inside of the near post.
86'
It's been a miserable night for Inter and may get even worse for them, as Medel seems to be struggling with an injury. He looks to be in a lot of pain and will have to make his way to the touchline to receive further medical treatment.
84'
Babacar almost makes it six for Fiorentina! The striker twists and turns as he runs rings around Joao Miranda before finally getting a shot away from just outside of the penalty area. It leaves Handanovic rooted to the spot but rolls just wide of the far post.
82'
S. Cristóforo enters the game and replaces Cristian Tello.
Fiorentina have made a late change, with Tello being replaced by Sebastian Cristoforo.
81'
Inter patiently pass the ball around inside the Fiorentina half of the pitch, but they look absolutely dismayed and are failing to cause the home side any problems whatsoever. It's been a very easy second half for Sousa's men.

Description
79'
K. Babacar has scored a goal for Fiorentina! Assist by C. Salcedo.
Salcedo set up Babacar with a great pass into the penalty from the right wing, but, once again, the Inter back line were awful in their attempt to deal with the home side on the break. Pioli looks absolutely furious!
GOAL! Fiorentina are running riot! Another counter-attack sees the home side tear the Inter defence apart before Babacar is set up in front of goal, and he's easily able to beat Handanovic once again with a clever low finish inside the box.
78'
C. Sánchez gets yellow.
Sanchez flies into Eder and catches the striker with a reckless challenge, resulting in a yellow card for the makeshift defender and another free-kick for Inter in a promising position.

No, they can't. Eder shoots from the set-piece but his low strike is poor and fails to get the better of the wall of Fiorentina players camped in front of him.
76'
M. Brozović enters the game and replaces G. Kondogbia.
A mass of white shirts pile towards the Fiorentina penalty area before Astori receives a yellow card for a clumsy challenge just outside of the box, resulting in a free-kick for Inter in a very dangerous position. Can they make it count?
75'
D. Astori gets yellow.
Marcelo Brozovic has come on to replace Geoffrey Kondogbia in another attack-minded switch by Stefano Pioli.
74'
Fiorentina scream for a penalty, but nothing is given! The hosts hit their opponents on the break once again as they try to find a fifth goal, but Valero is dispossessed by a great tackle from Medel inside the box. The Spaniard doesn't look at all happy with the challenge, but the referee waves play on nonetheless.
73'
Éder enters the game and replaces Y. Nagatomo.
Nagatomo has made way for Eder in an attacking alteration for Inter. It looks as if they're going to switch to a three-man defence as they try to get back into the game.
72'
Inter are throwing everything they've got at Fiorentina as they desperately try to find a way back into the contest, and it's leaving them incredibly vulnerable on the break. Once again, a lofted pass is fired over to Babacar, but this time the striker's first touch is poor and allows Medel to pick up the ball from under his nose.
70'
K. Babacar has scored a goal for Fiorentina! Assist by M. Vecino.
Once again, Vecino played an important role in the build-up to help set up Babacar. The Uruguayan has been in excellent form this evening, and he's caused Inter so many problems.
GOAL! It's another for Fiorentina! The visitors have completely collapsed, and this time it's Babacar who makes them pay as he charges into the left-hand side of the penalty area on the break before side-footing a lovely shot past Handanovic. It's all gone wrong for the Nerazzurri!
68'
After a tough time on the back foot, Inter are finally able to push forward and swing a cross into the heart of the Fiorentina penalty area. The home side have plenty of bodies back to deal with the danger though, and the visitors lose out once again.
66'
Another huge chance for Fiorentina! Inter are caught on the break once again as Tello flies towards the penalty area, but he can't pick out Babacar with his low pass into the box and has to settle for a corner.
64'
M. Vecino has scored a goal for Fiorentina! Assist by Borja Valero.
Valero pulled off a lovely back-heel flick to set up Vecino, who was afforded far too much room in the middle of the pitch as he sprinted forward.
GOAL! And just like that it's 3-2! Vecino weaves his way through the middle of the pitch and plays a lovely one-two with Valero before rifling a wonderful low shot past Handanovic and into the bottom left-hand corner of the net. The stadium is absolutely rocking!
63'
GOAL! It's 2-2! Valero swings the resulting corner into the middle of the box and right on to the head of Astori, who rises high above his marker before nodding the ball down past Handanovic.
62'
D. Astori has scored a goal for Fiorentina! Assist by Borja Valero.
Big change for Valero! Ilicic causes problems on the edge of the penalty area once again and this time is able to tee up Valero, who unleashes a cracking low shot that's well pushed away by the outstretched limbs of Handanovic.
That was a lovely, swinging cross from Valero to find the centre-back, but, once again, Inter failed to deal with the danger from a corner, as was the case in last weekend's derby.
61'
A long-range pass bounces down the right wing and into the path of Babacar on the edge of the Inter penalty area. The striker immediately decides to unleash a rocket of a volley, but it's poorly hit and sails high and wide of the goal.
60'
Ilicic is quickly able to get involved in the thick of the action as he muscles his way towards the Inter box, but he's quickly closed down and can't get a shot away. The ball then rolls out to Milic on the left flank, but the wing-back's low cross is deflected away from Babacar at the near post.
58'
J. Iličić enters the game and replaces F. Bernardeschi.
Bernardeschi is berated with whistles and jeers as he's replaced by Josip Ilicic.
57'
Gagliardini is caught from behind by a late challenge from Vecino, resulting in a free-kick for Inter midway inside the Fiorentina half of the pitch. It's sent short and worked over to Joao Miranda, who then sends a lofted pass sailing into the penalty area, where it's easily cleared.
56'
Fiorentina scream for another penalty! Once again, Babacar goes down inside the box whilst battling with an Inter defender, but this time Joao Miranda comes out on top and the striker is told to get back to his feet.
54'
C. Salcedo enters the game and replaces N. Tomović.
Tomovic limps off the pitch to be replaced by Carlos Salcedo in a change that Paulo Sousa wouldn't have wanted to make.
53'
Things don't look good for Tomovic, who has gone down off the ball and seems to be in real discomfort. It seems as if he's going to have to make way.
52'
Penalty saved by S. Handanovič!
Handanovic did well to guess right but that really was a rubbish penalty from Bernardeschi. He tried to be far too clever and, in the end, made life very easy for the Slovenian goalkeeper.
SAVE! Bernardeschi steps up and tries to beat Handanovic with a deft dink, but his shot is poorly hit and Handanovic is easily able to parry it away from the bottom right-hand corner of the net.
51'
PENALTY! A truly terrible headed clearance from Yuto Nagatomo loops straight over to Babacar, who tries to control the ball but is dragged back by D'Ambrosio, leaving the referee with no chance put to point to the spot.
50'
Space opens up for Bernardeschi in the middle of the pitch, allowing him to spin and pick out Valero. The Spaniard can't do anything with the ball though, as he's immediately closed down and dispossessed by a sea of white.
48'
Fiorentina start the second half the better of the two sides as they work the ball around nicely. A low pass is then fired into the Inter box and towards Bernardeschi, but it's slightly overhit and fails to find its target in front of goal.
46'
We're underway once again!
45'
Almost an own goal by Joao Miranda! A dangerous Milic cross swings towards the near post before being cut out by the Brazilian, who sends a diving header towards goal. Luckily for him, Handanovic is there to push it away from the net and out for a corner.
44'
Thumping strike by Valero! The midfielder gets himself into a pocket of space 25 yards out and quickly unleashes a rocket of a shot, but it's well saved by Handanovic to send it looping over the top of the crossbar.
43'
Cristiano Tello, who has struggled to get into the game so far, twists and turns over on the right wing before finally being able to swing a cross into the box, but Joao Miranda is there to meet the ball with a strong headed clearance.
41'
Milic gets himself into a pocket of space deep down the left wing and quickly tries to fire a low cross into the Inter penalty area, but it's well blocked by Danilo D'Ambrosio. The ball rolls back out to the Croatian and is fired back in once again, but this time it flies just past the outstretched foot of Babacar.
39'
Almost a great opportunity for Candreva to make it 3-1! Perisic sends a beautiful cross-field pass right into the penalty area and into the feet of Candreva, but the winger's first touch is poor and sends the ball bouncing into the hands of Tatarusanu before he can get a shot away.
37'
The home side are unable to clear the danger fully and allow Inter to win themselves yet another corner. It pinballs around the Fiorentina box dangerously before rolling out to Gary Medel, who unleashes a low strike that rolls well wide of the goal.
36'
Fiorentina struggle to hold on to the ball from the restart and immediately gift it to Inter, who break forward through Perisic and win themselves a corner. It fails to result in a chance on goal though, as the home side are just about able to deal with the pressure being put on them.
34'
M. Icardi has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by João Mário.
Assist João Mário Naval da Costa Eduardo
GOAL! Inter are in front! Somewhere, the home side have taken the lead, and it's largely down to poor defending from Fiorentina. Icardi is finally presented with a chance on goal after easily skipping past Sanchez, and he comfortably beats Tatarusanu with a great low strike.
32'
The Inter equaliser seems to have really caused problems for Fiorentina, who don't look anywhere near as good as they did earlier in the half. They're now struggled desperately in the middle of the pitch, which is resulting in them being constantly caught on the break.
30'
It's been a quiet game for Icardi, who is finding it difficult to get into the contest. A couple of times he's tried to make good runs forward but, overall, he's been hassled by the three Fiorentina centre-backs, who have largely dealt with him well.
28'
I. Perišić has scored a goal for Inter Milan! Assist by A. Candreva.
Candreva and Perisic have arguably been Inter's two best players thus far, so it's fitting that they linked up well to create the equaliser. Still, Fiorentina afforded their opponents far too much space on the break.
GOAL! Inter have equalised! Space opens up in the middle of the pitch for Inter, allowing them to break forward quickly. A nice pass is worked into the feet of Candreva, who spins round Davide Astori before knocking the ball back to Perisic, and the Croatian can easily fire a low strike under Tatarusanu and into the back of the net.
27'
Inter keep putting pressure on the Fiorentina back line as they continue to commit more bodies forward, but, again, the home side are easily able to deal with the danger before kick-starting a counter-attack of their own down the left wing.
25'
Inter desperately push forward from the restart as they quickly try to find a way back into the game, but, after winning a throw-in deep down the right flank, they fail to take advantage of a good chance to test the Fiorentina defence and lose out.
23'
M. Vecino has scored a goal for Fiorentina! Assist by H. Milić.
Milic did really well to pick out Vecino with his low cross into the heart of the penalty area, but the Inter defence should have done a lot better. The Uruguayan was left all alone in a pocket of space.
GOAL! Fiorentina have taken the lead! Milic continues to impress over on the left wing as he gets himself into a good position before teeing up Matias Vecino, who easily beats Handanovic with an excellent first-time strike.
22'
After dealing with the corner, Inter fly forward on a quick counter-attack. Perisic sprints down the left wing before cutting the ball back to Icardi, who goes down on the edge of the Fiorentina box. He half-heartedly appeals for a penalty, but the referee isn't at all interested and tells him to get back to his feet.
21'
Babacar, Milic and Valero almost link up really well to allow the Spaniard to get a shot away from the edge of the penalty area, but he can't get the ball out of his feet and Fiorentina have to settle for a corner that's well defended.
19'
After starting slowly, Fiorentina are now on the front foot and doing well to put Inter under a lot of pressure. This time a low pass is fired into the penalty area and towards Babacar, who is able to wriggle away from his marker, but the striker can't quite reach the ball, despite his best efforts.
17'
Almost a chance for Borja Valero! Another swinging cross causes problems for the Inter defence, who aren't able to deal with the danger. Nenad Tomovic meets it well and quickly nods the ball down towards Valero, who charges towards goal but can't beat Handanovic at the near post.
15'
Icardi, who had previously gone down under a challenge from the Colombian, catches Carlos Sanchez in the face as the two battle for the ball on the halfway line. The striker tries to protest his innocence but the referee doesn't look particularly impressed.
13'
Fiorentina patiently work the ball around inside the Inter half of the pitch before a lofted pass is thumped into the box and towards Babacar. It's completely mishit through, allowing Samir Handanovic to easily deal with the danger under no pressure whatsoever.
11'
An attempted Fiorentina attacking move breaks come to nothing, allowing Inter to counter quickly. Candreva sprints into the hosts' half of the pitch and towards the penalty area before trying to set up Mauro Icardi, but the pass is poor and fails to find the captain in front of goal.
10'
Just over the crossbar from Federico Bernardeschi! Khouma Babacar holds up the ball well on the edge of the Inter penalty area before spinning and teeing up Hrvoje Milic. The Croatian quickly whips a cross into the box and towards Bernardeschi, who reaches it well before sending a headed effort looping over the top of the crossbar.
8'
Inter, who have started really well, push forward once again before Joao Mario tries to test Tatarusanu from long-range. He's unable to trouble the Romanian though, as his low effort is easily saved in the middle of the goal.
6'
Big opportunity for Roberto Gagliardini! Another promising Inter attack results in a corner for the visitors, this time over on the right flank. It's swung in by Candreva and pinballs over to Gagliardini, who then quickly forces Tatarusanu into making a smart save at the near post.
4'
Almot an early chance for Antonio Candreva! Perisic gets himself into another good position over ont he left wing before firing a beautiful cross towards the near post. It looks set to pick out Candreva, but the ball flies just past the winger and into the hands of Ciprian Tatarusanu.
3'
Ivan Perisic twists and turns deep down the left flank as he tries to find a way into the Fiorentina box, but he's unable to do so and has to settle for a corner. It's sent short and worked back to the Croatian, who then unleashes a rocket of a shot that sails well wide of the goal.

We're off! Fiorentina get us underway, attacking from left to right.
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Serie A game between Fiorentina and Inter at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
With just six games left to go, the fight for Europa League qualification remains as fierce as ever. Fiorentina, Inter and Milan are all battling hard to finish in sixth place, an achievement that will surely result in a place in Europe thanks to a Juventus-Lazio Coppa Italia final. As a result, victory here today is imperative for both sides if they are to avoid falling too far behind the in-form Rossoneri.
A win is particularly needed by Fiorentina, who, despite losing just one of their last seven league games, currently sit in eighth, six points behind Milan. A last-minute penalty consigned them to a disappointing defeat at home to Empoli in their previous outing, whilst the 2-2 draw against Sampdoria two weeks ago means that they haven’t managed to beat a top-half team since surprising Juventus at the start of the year.
As for Inter, their impressive start under Stefano Pioli now feels like a distant memory after last weekend’s controversial draw in the Derby della Madonnina. The former Lazio manager’s future looks uncertain as a result of a four-game winless run, and another poor result today would surely hand a huge advantage to Milan as we enter the final stretch of the season.
Inter didn’t even go five Serie A games without a win under Frank de Boer, and a defeat here today would represent the Nerazzurri’s worst league run since December 2014. It would also set them up poorly for next weekend’s huge clash at home to third-place Napoli, who are unbeaten in their last six outings and fighting hard for a place in next season’s Champions League group stage.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening…
Paulo Sousa has decided to make two changes to the Fiorentina side that started the defeat against Empoli last weekend, with Milan Badelj and Hrvoje Milic coming into the starting line-up to replace Federico Chiesa and Riccardo Saponara, respectively.
Meanwhile, Inter boss Stefano Pioli has named an unchanged side to the one that featured in their last outing, with Yuto Nagatomo, who made only his second Serie A start of 2017 in the Milan derby, once again starting at left-back.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: FIORENTINA 1-2 INTER
It's been a strange game so far, as both sides have enjoyed their fair share of decent periods without looking at all convincing. Inter started the better of the two before struggling and going behind, whilst Fiorentina's impressive period also ended with a conceded goal. Since then, it's the Nerazzurri who have been on the front foot, and they deservedly head into the half-time break with a one-goal lead.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
FULL-TIME: FIORENTINA 5-4 INTER
What a thrilling, action-packed encounter that was! Both teams really struggled at the back and invited pressure, allowing both sets of strikers to thoroughly enjoy themselves in front of goal. Despite not seeing a great deal of the ball, Icardi leaves with a well-earned hat-trick, but his side have to head away empty-handed after another disappointing performance.
