We're underway at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland are winless in their last six matches and have failed to score in any of those games. David Moyes' men are hurtling towards the Championship and unless they can pull off a positive result today - their fate could be sealed by the end of the month.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Sunderland and Manchester United at the Stadium of Light.
Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 20 league matches, but have drawn their last two matches against Everton. The Red Devils needed a last-minute penalty from Zlatan Ibrahimovic to rescue a point against Everton during the week and cannot afford any further slip-ups in their pursuit of the top four.
Sunderland have a problem finding the net, with even Jermain Defoe struggling to fire in front of goal. They've not scored since putting four past Crystal Palace at the beginning of February and will need to resolve those issues to survive, starting this afternoon.
United have also had their problems scoring this season, with the worst record in front of goal in the top seven. Jose Mourinho's men have scored only 43 goals this season, with Ibrahimovic accounting for over a third of those strikes.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
MANCHESTER UNITED (4-3-3): Romero; Darmian, Bailly, Rojo, Shaw; Fellaini, Herrera, Pogba; Mkhitaryan, Ibrahimovic, Lingard.
United subs: Martial, Carrick, Blind, Rashford, Fosu-Mensah, Tuanzebe, Joel Castro.
Sunderland have made one change from the side that was beaten 2-0 by Leicester City last week, with Fabio Borini dropping out of the line-up and Victor Anichebe replacing him up front.
David de Gea is missing from the side with Mourinho admitting that he has a slight injury problem. The Spaniard should be able to return next week according to the Portuguese, but Sergio Romero takes his place between the sticks this afternoon.
There are four other changes to the side from the draw with Everton. Matteo Darmian, Luke Shaw, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan all get the starts today.
STAT ATTACK! Sunderland have not failed to score in five consecutive home games since 1985. Moyes' men have currently gone four home matches without a goal since netting against Stoke City in January.
The players are out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
HALF-TIME: SUNDERLAND 0-1 MANCHESTER UNITED
Zlatan Ibrahomovic's goal sends Manchester United into the lead at the break, but the half will be remembered more for the controversial dismissal of Sebastian Larsson by referee Craig Pawson, leaving Sunderland down to 10 men.
The Black Cats have not played badly, but were undone by a fine piece of quality from Ibrahimovic to spin away from two defenders before rifling his strike into the bottom corner. David Moyes' men face a huge challenge to get back into the contest.
The players are making their way out for the second half, so we should be underway shortly.
FULL-TIME: SUNDERLAND 0-3 MANCHESTER UNITED
Manchester United secure a comfortable win this afternoon as goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Rashford guided them past Sunderland with ease.
Jose Mourinho's men were aided when the Black Cats were controversially reduced to 10 men before the break when Sebastian Larsson was sent off for a challenge on Ander Herrera, which infuriated the crowd and David Moyes.
However, Sunderland now failed to score in their last seven matches, losing six of the contests. The Black Cats appear to be heading straight for the Championship; there looks to be no escape for them this time around.
