Just the three minutes of added time allocated by the referee and Barcelona have got the ball right in the corner in the Atletico half. Will take something rather special for the Colchoneros to prevent their rivals being crowned champions now!
90'
Messi steps up to hit the set-piece and whips his attempt up and over the wall, but Oblak does superbly to get down to his left-hand side and palm the free kick away from goal! Possession eventually comes to the right wing, but Barcelona manage to win another free kick. This one probably will go into the corner...
89'
J. Giménez gets yellow.
88'
Messi swings a lovely pass down the left channel and Neymar glides inside before being scythed down by Gimenez, which results in a free kick to Barcelona. This will eat up a nice amount of time for Los Cules, but still expect them to have a strike on goal.
87'
Rafinha enters the game and replaces I. Rakitić.
86'
Third and final change from Barcelona and it sees Rafinha introduced just to provide some fresh legs in midfield. He'll replace Rakitic, who once again has been impressive alongside Iniesta and Busquets. Just under five minutes to go!
84'
Messi and Pedro link up on the edge of the penalty area and the latter cleverly flicks the ball down the left wing into the path of Mathieu, but the Frenchman's subsequent cross into the box evades everyone and actually manages to find its way out for a throw-in.
82'
Xavi enters the game and replaces Andrés Iniesta.
It looks like Real Madrid have wrapped up the win over against Espanyol as Ronaldo has put them 3-1 up. That win looks to be in the bag for Los Blancos, so an equaliser for Atletico Madrid here would see the title race go right to the wire next week. Barca won't want that though; they want another goal here to seal it!

Description
81'
Second change from the Blaugrana now as Xavi is given a run out in place of Iniesta. It is quite a seen as the switch is made as both sides are given a rapturous applause from not just the Barcelona fans, but the Atletico Madrid fans too. Great to see.
80'
Saúl enters the game and replaces Fernando Torres.
J. Mathieu enters the game and replaces Jordi Alba.
79'
Atletico Madrid follow suit and make another substitution as Fernando Torres, who has put in an excellent shift without really being threatening, replaced by Saul Niguez, whose late runs into the box have been a danger this season. Los Colchoneros running out of time!
78'
Well, the first part of that turnaround has happened as Real Madrid are now 2-1 up against Espanyol thanks to a thumping finish from Marcelo. Barcelona, meanwhile, make another change as Mathieu comes on for Alba. A smart move from Enrique as he provides his defence with more height to combat set-pieces.
76'
In order for the championship race to make its way to the final day of the season, quite a massive turnaround is required over two games here. Real Madrid can only save their season if they can grab a goal against Espanyol, and hope their city rivals, Atletico, can get TWO against Barcelona!
75'
Gabi gets yellow.
74'
Things just keep getting better and better for Barcelona this evening as the latest news from Catalunya is that Espanyol have EQUALISED against Real Madrid! A horrible defensive slip-up at the back from Los Blancos saw Keylor Navas give the ball away and Christian Stuani took full advantage to place home! Barcelona are currently champions!
72'
M. Mandžukić enters the game and replaces A. Turan.
Second change of the match from Simeone and it probably signals a change in formation for the home side. Arda is coming off and he'll be replaced by Mandzukic, which will either mean Griezmann coming out wide or a switch to a 4-3-3 formation.
70'
OR MAYBE NOT, AS HE MISSES A SITTER! Barcelona counterattack at tremendous pace through the middle through Rakitic and the Croatian eventually finds Messi, who lays the ball on a plate for the Brazilian inside the box, but the resulting strike on goal is horribly ballooned over! That would probably have sealed the title!
69'
The confidence is flowing for Barcelona now after going ahead and they are definitely hungry for more goals. Neymar has come out of his shell slightly and could indeed prosper from the space that may open up as Atletico press for an equaliser.
68'
Raúl García enters the game and replaces Mario Suárez.
67'
Simeone reacts quickly to that Barcelona goal as he makes his first change of the match, and it is a positive one as Mario Suarez is replaced by the more attack-minded Raul Garcia, who is more than capable of popping up with a goal. At the very least they will have even more presence from set-pieces now.
65'
L. Messi has scored a goal for Barcelona! Assist by Pedro.
GOOOOAAAALLLLLL!!! GOOOOAAALLLL!! GOOOAAAALLLL FOR BARCELONA!!! Messi receives the ball to feet on the edge of the box and fires a pass into Pedro before collecting the one-two and taking a touch before sliding an incisive finish into the bottom right corner! One-nil! That may be the championship!
63'
Gabi must surely come on the wrong end of the referee's wrath sooner or later as he commits yet another foul inside the Atletico half which a late challenge on Neymar. The Brazilian made the most of it, but it was still at the very least a foul.
61'
Dani Alves pops up down the right flank once again and hits a speculative cross into the centre of the box, which Juanfran does well to cover across and head away. Barcelona dutifully collect again and keep the home side camped in their own half.
59'
Some news coming from the Cornella-El Prat now as Real Madrid have SCORED against Espanyol. Cristiano Ronaldo has now put Los Blancos a goal to the good so it is now up to Barcelona to match their Clasico rivals' scoreline in order to be crowned champions.
57'
Neymar, who has been very quiet so far, collects the ball near the left touchline and attempts to shift beyond Gabi, before going down under the challenge of the Atletico captain. Didn't look to be too much in that one, and the referee shares this view as he doesn't blow for a free kick.
55'
Griezmann is fouled by Pique and Atletico take the quick free kick which released Torres into the inside left channel inside the box. The former Chelsea striker fires a left-footed strike towards goal but Bravo comfortably gathers in between the sticks.
53'
Koke gets yellow.
Messi gets in behind the Atletico midfield and quickly turns up the pace with a speedy run through the middle, but Koke doesn't allow him to get any further forward with a very cynical pull of the shirt, which results in a yellow card for the midfielder. That's one way to stop the Argentine.
51'
Koke whips a wicked corner kick into the box and Pique misses it which allows Godin to power in and bullet a header towards goal, but the Uruguayan's attempt lacks the direction required in order to test Bravo and flies north of the bar! That was a brilliant chance!
49'
Griezmann fires the ball straight into the face of Iniesta inside the box before collecting again and screwing a left-footed strike aimed towards the top left corner. It looks like it deflects off Pique on the way through but the ref fails to spot it and awards Barcelona the goal kick. Meanwhile, the Barca captain receives some physio treatment for that blow to the head, but he'll be okay.
47'
A high-tempo start to this second period as both sides continue their intensity after the break. The game is being played at a brilliant pace at the moment, and as a result there will no doubt be some space created in the final third.
46'
We are back under way at the Vicente Calderon! With Real Madrid currently drawing 0-0 with Espanyol, Barcelona are currently champions, but Los Cules will rarely sit back and accept what they have whilst relying on others. They will be going for the win here!
45'
BRILLIANT SAVE FROM OBLAK! Dani Alves drives ahead from the centre of the position and advances into the space available in front of him before smashing a dipping strike towards the top corner, which is superbly tipped over the crossbar by the Atletico keeper!
43'
Griezmann and Torres are working extremely hard up top to put the Barcelona central defenders under pressure when on the ball but we haven't seen too much from the Atletico strikers in terms of a direct threat towards goal. Another influential creative player, Arda, has also been quiet.
41'
A bouncing long ball is sent up top to Torres and the former Chelsea striker battles hard to fight against Mascherano to win the ball, but the Barcelona defender remains solid and claims possession before distributing into midfield. An entertaining duel between that duo so far.
39'
Messi collects the ball to feet with his back to goal inside the centre circle and turns sharply before opening up his stride and laying off to Pedro, who finds Dani Alves with a lovely left-footed pass out wide. The Brazilian attempts to find his South American compatriot with a pass to the edge of the box, but Godin intercepts.
37'
Rakitic receives a pass down the right wing and gallops forward to the byline before firing a deep cross to the opposite flank for Alba, who does brilliantly to keep the ball in play with a terrific touch. Juanfran intercepts and possession comes to Busquets, who tries his luck with a long-range strike at goal that whistles well wide. Back to midfield, Sergio!
35'
The game has been a bit of a midfield battle in the last few minutes with both sets of attackers not seeing too much possession. Barca are of course controlling the ball in those central areas but Atletico are working extremely hard to press and nick possession whenever they can.
33'
MESSIIIIII!!! HOW CLOSE WAS THAT?! The Argentine steps up to take the subsequent free kick from the Godin foul and whips a strike towards goal which looks poised to find the top corner, but it just doesn't dip in time and ruffles to the top of the net before going over! Oblak was nowhere!
32'
31'
D. Godín gets yellow.
Dani Alves gets the wrong side of Godin inside the Atletico box and then spectacularly throws himself to the floor. On first look it did actually look a foul on the Brazilian but the referee doesn't see it that way and issues a yellow card for diving, but not before awarding a free kick for the challenge OUTSIDE of the area. Set-piece opportunity for Barca!
29'
Pedro gets yellow.
Pedro's frustrations are boiling over a little now and the result is that he is the first player to go into the book. The Spaniard has had a few niggling challenges in the last couple of minutes and the latest one on Gimenez is deemed bad enough for a yellow.
27'
Siqueira fires a long throw into the box and Gimenez nods on at the back post to keep the ball alive in the danger area. Torres attempts to back in to Mascherano but the latter out-muscles his former Liverpool team-mate to commandingly head out of the box.
25'
Messi has been bright for Barcelona so far but we haven't seen too much from his attacking team-mates, Neymar and Pedro, who is deputising for Suarez. There's not a lot of space being awarded to that trio, but a little more movement required all the same.
23'
Messi has, perhaps predictably, came under some rough treatment from the Atletico players so far. The latest guilty party is the captain, Gabi, who has a couple of swipes at the former Ballon d'Or winner halfway through the home side's half. Free kick to the Blaugrana in a useful position.
21'
Rakitic sneaks in front of Mario Suarez in the centre circle to steal the ball and drives forward through the middle with authority. The Atletico midfielder retreats well to poke the ball away and make up for his mistake, but Barcelona eventually gets the free kick as Godin hacks down Messi.
19'
Juanfran is a lucky, lucky man! The Atletico right-back covers his central defenders by moving inside and blocks a goal-bound header from Messi, but it appears he actually used his left arm to do it! There are no real protests from Barcelona and as a result the referee fails to point to the spot! Had the official spotted that outright, combined with some shouts from the visitors, that would have been a spotkick.
17'
Barcelona have slowed down the tempo of the match in an attempt to curb the early ascendancy of Atletico, and it has worked a treat really as the home side haven't seen the ball in the final third for four or five minutes.
15'
The game was end-to-end stuff for a few minutes there with both sides testing the opposition goalkeeper, but Barcelona have took the initiative in recent moments through their patient passing in the middle of the park. Simeone is urging his players to press ahead and hunt for the ball, but they are sitting pretty deep in their own half, soaking up the pressure.
13'
Dani Alves gets into an advanced position down the right wing and finds a yard of space before curling a lovely cross into the centre of the penalty area. Messi shakes off the attentions of Gimenez and rises high to bullet a header at goal, but once again Oblak is correctly positioned to make the comfortable save!
12'
This game has just ignited into life in the past couple of minutes! Some scintillating Barcelona play in the final through Iniesta, Neymar, and Messi eventually sees the Argentine collect possession on the edge of the box and rifle a strike towards goal, but it is straight down the throat of the grateful Oblak!
10'
Bravo pulls off another spectacular save to deny Griezmann's drilled strike to the back post, but the play is eventually pulled back as the Atletico striker was offside. The Chilean wasn't to know that though; another brilliant stop with a strong right hand!
8'
WHAT A SAVE FROM BRAVO! Another cross is sailed into the box from Atletico and Gimenez nods towards goal from the front post! It actually looks as if the ball comes off the shoulder of the Uruguayan and seems destined to find the top corner, but the Barcelona keeper somehow gets across his line to claw away from the line!
6'
Koke whips a teasing cross into the box and Godin attempts to bulldoze his way through a group of players in order to get on the end of it, but Barca just manage to squeeze away the danger. The home side recycle possession near the halfway line and go forward to maintain the pressure on Barca.
4'
It looks like Pedro has been deployed in the centre-forward position as a direct replacement for the injured Suarez. There were musings that the World Cup winner would start on the right-hand side with Messi coming into the middle, but the Argentine has stuck to the touchline for the time being. That duo, along with Neymar, are of course interchangeable, though.
3'
A fairly tepid opening to proceedings in the Spanish capital as both sides just ease into the action in an attempt to feel each other out. Barcelona have typically started with the majority of possession, but Atletico have sturdily set up with nine men behind the ball.
1'
We are under way at the Vicente Calderon! Will Barcelona be crowned champions or can Atletico claim the win and confirm qualification in to the Champions League group stage next season?!
Good evening football fans! Welcome to LIVE coverage of the Spanish Primera Division clash between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona from the Vicente Calderon!
I'm Martin Macdonald, and I'll be guiding you through the action!
Luis Enrique's outfit have the opportunity today to reclaim the Liga championship in what would be the first title of a potentially historic treble. The Catalan side are already in the Copa del Rey final and, as of this week, have progressed to the Champions League final to face Juventus after successfully overcoming Bayern Munich.
Indeed, this chance may not have even came around at the Vicente Calderon for Barca. For the past few weeks there was speculation that the last two rounds of Spanish Primera Division fixtures would not go ahead due to a proposed strike by the players' union, but thankfully any action has been suspended which means this treat of a game gets to go ahead!
However, Atleti have not managed to sustain the necessary title challenge that was needed this season, and are currently placed in third – 13 points behind Barcelona and nine points behind city rivals, Real Madrid. Indeed, it is by no means confirmed that they will even remain in the last automatic Champions League qualification spot, as Valencia are hot on their heels in fourth just three points behind.
Atletico and Barcelona have already faced each other three times this season. The corresponding league fixture at the start of January saw the Catalan side run out comfortable 3-1 winners, with Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Luis Suarez all typically getting on the scoresheet. There was a similar outcome when the side's faced each other in the Copa del Rey quarer-final, as Los Cules progressed thanks to a 1-0 home win and 3-2 away win respectively.
Barcelona don't even need to win today to be crowned champions. Real Madrid take on Espanyol at Cornella-El Prat at the same time as this clash, and Luis Enrique's outfit only need to match Los Blancos' result in order to win the league. There should be plenty of twists and turns in the title race before the day is over!
TEAM NEWS...
Atletico Madrid (4-4-2): Oblak; Juanfran, Godin, Gimenez, Siqueira; Mario Suarez, Gabi, Koke, Arda; Griezmann, Torres.
There is certainly a feeling of deja vu about today's proceedings from the way that Atletico Madrid were crowned champions last season. The match that saw Diego Simeone's men clinch the title actually came at Camp Nou – against today's opponents, Barcelona, who will certainly be looking to extract some revenge and inflict similar pain on the Colchoneros on their home patch. On that occasion a year ago, a Diego Godin header cancelled out Alexis Sanchez's opener which gave Atletico the draw required to see them be named as champions for the first time in 18 years.
Simeone has made three changes from Atletico's previous clash, which was a 2-2 draw away to Levante last weekend. Miranda, Mandzukic, and the suspended Tiago are withdrawn, with Godin, Suarez, and Torres coming into the starting XI.
Two alterations for Barca from the match against Bayern Munich during the week. Ter Stegen is dropped as Bravo returns to league duty between the sticks, and Pedro also comes in for Suarez, who misses out with a hamstring injury.
The players have took to the pitch and we are almost ready for kick off!
Half time at Vicente Calderon. No goals yet in the Spanish capital but it has been a highly entertaining affair between the current champions and the champions-elect as Atletico and Barcelona head into the break at 0-0 stalemate. Oblak and Bravo have been called into action a few times, and both pulled off wonderful saved to deny Dani Alves and Oblak respectively. A couple of penalty shouts out there also but the referee has not pointed to the spot. You don't want to miss this second period!
FULL TIME! BARCELONA ARE THE CHAMPIONS OF SPAIN!
Luis Enrique's men have won the Liga title after successfully overcoming former champions, Atletico Madrid on their own patch at Vicente Calderon thanks to a goal from, you guessed it, Lionel Messi! The Argentine popped up with a lovely finish in the second period to eventually seal the victory and confirm their status as champions! Real Madrid made things interesting with a comfortable 4-1 win over Espanyol at Cornella-El Prat, but the Blaugrana did the job on the day and got the points required! A historic treble? One down - two to go! I'm Martin Macdonald, thanks for joining us, see you next time!
