IT'S ALL OVER! An tame effort is saved by Langerak and the final whistle sounds!
120' +1
THAT WAS IT! Amiri delivers it into the centre and somehow Dortmund let Beck run onto it unmarked! The right-back has all the time in the world to head home, but sends his effort wide! Inexcusable!
120'
It arrives in the centre where Baumann is waiting, but Sokratis shows his worth in the air to head clear. Hoffenheim keep possession, however, and the pressure is not gone just yet as the ball is knocked behind for yet another corner.
119'
CORNER! This is what Hoffenheim needed. The goalkeeper comes up now as everyone piles togther in the Dortmund penalty in anticipation of this corner kick. Can they find some late magic?
117'
S. Kehl gets yellow.
A nasty tackle from Sebastian Kehl at the halfway line has left Amiri a bit worse for wear. Tempers are boiling over a bit in this second frame of extra time.
115'
Hoffenheim are running out of time and have to start taking a few risks. They still have not seemed to enter desperation mode, which is quite surprising with just five minutes remaining.
113'
A. Ramos enters the game and replaces P. Aubameyang.
Aubameyang appears to be suffering from a few cramps and he is attended to on the pitch by the training staff. His night will end here, as he makes his way off with Adrian Ramos on in his place.
112'
J. Błaszczykowski gets yellow.
E. Bičakčić gets yellow.
111'
KAMPL SHOULD HAVE ENDED IT! Tremendous build-up from the hosts, who are energized by the strike from Kehl! Gundogan links up with Kagawa, getting into space on the left. He sends a wonderful cross in for the Japanese midfielder, but his header is stopped. The rebound falls kindly for Kampl, but he somehow hits it over the bar from two feet out!
109'
STAT ATTACK: Borussia Dortmund have won 17 of their last 19 DFB-Pokal matches, which includes a title success in 2012. Both those defeats came against Bayern Munich.
Minute
Description
107'
S. Kehl has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund!
WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE STRIKE BY SEBASTIAN KEHL! It's an absolutely brilliant volley from the midfielder! He latches onto a bouncing ball in midfield and unleashes a thunderbolt that sneaks just inside the near post! It's truly unbelievable from Kehl - a strike worthy of being a match-winner!
106'
The players have a quick stretch and grab themselves some water, but the break is short-lived as the second half is now underway!
105'
Kampl tries his luck from distance, but Baumann makes a fairly comfortable stop as the first half of extra time comes to an end.
103'
BLOCKED BY STRODL! A good prodding move from Dortmund sees Kampl and Kagawa link up atop the area. The substitute plays the Japan international through on the left, but Strodl gets across to make an important block!
101'
K. Kampl enters the game and replaces H. Mkhitaryan.
S. Zuber enters the game and replaces S. Schipplock.
Here comes the change. Klopp sees the need to bring on a new face and shake things up a bit in attack, and thus here comes Kevin Kampl to replace Mkhitaryan. Gisdol makes a change of his own, the final one for Hoffenheim, with Steven Zuber on in midfield to replace Schipplock.
99'
WHAT A BALL! From back in his own end, Subotic plays a superb pass forward to pick out Mkhitaryan. The midfielder takes it well and gets into a good position for a shot, but lashes his half-volley well over the bar.
97'
Both sides appear hesitant to commit men forward, knowing that a goal against could prove to be the end of their time in the competition. It has made for a timid and tense start to extra time.
95'
It's actually Hoffenheim who have shown the greater intent to get forward in this first frame of extra time, though they are lacking a bit of creativity inside the final third. Dortmund could perhaps do with a change to get some fresh legs into attack - Ciro Immobile or Kevin Kampl, perhaps.
93'
The extra period starts slowly with the two teams exchanging possession. The tempo has certainly slowed and the atmosphere inside the stadium has become a bit stale as well, mirroring the action out on the pitch.
91'
Underway in extra time!
90' +3
Firmino gets a hand up into the face of Gundogan and that awards Dortmund a free kick on the right, from about 20 yards out. Schmelzer delivers a cross into the area but can't get enough height to it as Hoffenheim clear. That will do it - we are headed for extra time!
90' +2
Roberto Firmino gets yellow.
90' +1
Into the first of three minutes of stoppage time and we have yet another injury delay. Sokratis and Schipplock both lunged in to win a loose ball and the Dortmund defender has come out a bit worse for wear.
90'
WONDERFUL GOALKEEPING! These two stoppers are doing everything to keep their side's level! Blaszczykowski makes a crafty run into the area and drives a low shot towards the far corner, but Baumann dives across to get a hand to it before Bicakcic clears the rebound out of harm's way!
89'
K. Volland gets yellow.
88'
There is a delay now with Bicakcic down after a collision. The medical staff comes out to check on him as we approach the 90th minute. Extra time is looming here in Dortmund!
86'
HE'S AT IT AGAIN! Firmino is reaking havoc in the final third, causing all sorts of problems for the Dortmund defence. A great run between the two centre-backs is picked out by Schipplock, but the Brazilian puts his first-time time effort wide of the near post from in close!
84'
GAME SAVER! Firmino shows great hustle to get on the end of a long-ball forward and holds it up well before picking out the run of Polasnki in the centre. The midfielder takes a shot first-time - and it's a good one - but Langerak dives down brilliantly to keep it out!
82'
VITAL INTERVENTION! Mkhitaryan does brilliantly to skip down the left flank into space before sending a wonderful ball across the face of goal. Aubameyang looks to run onto the end of it, but Bicakcic slides in at the last second to knock it behind!
80'
Both sides appear eager to get forward and push for a winner, but the high-flying pace of this match throughout has left us with some very tired legs out on the pitch. Passes are going astray and runs are being cut short as we enter the final 10 minutes of regulation time.
78'
FANTASTIC STOP! Dortmund win a corner and Blaszczykowski's delivery picks out Subotic. The Serbian rises high to meet it and direct a thumping header goalwards, but Baumann gets his hands up at the last second to tip it over the bar!
76'
Offside! The visitors are looking to hit Dortmund with some quick moves forward, which is when they were at their most dangerous in the first half, but back-to-back good balls forward result in nothing as Volland and Schipplock are flagged for offside.
74'
The pace has slowed drastically now and the visitors seem to have put an end to the waves of Dortmund pressure. There remains just over 15 minutes for the deadlock to be broken, with neither side likely eager for extra time as a pair of crucial matches await them on the weekend.
72'
STAT ATTACK: Hoffenheim have won four consecutive away matches in the DFB-Pokal, outscoring their opponents 23-1, which includes a victory over Schalke. Their away form in the league has been far less impressive, however, winning just one of their last 11 Bundesliga matches away from home (D4, L6).
70'
LOVELY VISION! Blaszczykowski interchanges with Mkhitaryan and finds himself in space on the left. He skips past a defender and sends a terrific cutback pass to tee up Gundogan atop the area, but the midfielder's tame shot is collected by Baumann.
68'
Hoffenheim have settled down and seem to have relieved the pressure, for the time being at least. They have slowed the pace drastically, with Rudy showing his class in midfield to help his side retain possession.
66'
Dortmund continue to apply pressure on the Hoffenheim goal and the visitors can do little to keep them out. They clear their lines and moments later the ball is back with the hosts in the final third. Something has to change! Where is the counter-attacking threat they posed throughout the first half?
64'
Jurgen Klopp makes his first change of the night, with Sebastian Kehl coming on to provide some fresh legs in midfield at the expense of Sven Bender.
63'
S. Kehl enters the game and replaces S. Bender.
62'
TREMENDOUS SAVE! Dortmund look like scoring with each and every attack! Mkhitaryan plays Aubameyang through on goal, and an improvised shot with the outside of his boot forces a terrific save from Baumann at the near post!
61'
Kim Jin-Su enters the game and replaces J. Toljan.
Markus Gisdol has seen enough and makes a double change in the hopes of settling his side down and getting back to the way they played in the first half. Nadiem Arimi and Jin-Su Kim come on to replace Jeremy Toljan and Pirmin Schwelger.
60'
N. Amiri enters the game and replaces P. Schwegler.
59'
STAT ATTACK: Excluding extra time, Dortmund have not lost a DFB-Pokal match in nine attempts, since a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in February of 2013 (W8, D1).
57'
P. Aubameyang has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by E. Durm.
DORTMUND PULL LEVEL AND THAT HAS BEEN COMING! Finally Aubameyang converts a chance, showing surprising strength to out-muscle Strobl and head home a superb cross from Durm!
55'
P. Schwegler gets yellow.
Weak foul there! It's the second card in three minutes for the visitors, with Schwelger cautioned this time for a late push on Blaszczykowski. The replay shows minimal contact, however, with the referee perhaps getting that one wrong.
53'
S. Schipplock gets yellow.
Sven Schipplock dives carelessly into a challenge near the halfway line and is called for a foul. The referee comes over and has no interest in letting the striker plead his case, showing him the first yellow card of the match.
52'
The hosts have started this second half brilliantly! Mkhitaryan nearly runs through on goal himself, skipping through midfield, but Schwelger just manages to intervene and break up the move. The ball goes out of play shortly after and Hoffenheim coach Markus Gisdol pleads with his team to calm down and settle back into the match.
50'
DORTMUND SHOULD BE LEVEL! They are having no problem whatsoever of transitioning into attack, carving apart the Hoffenheim midfield like a tender Turkey on Thanksgiving. Gundogan and Kagawa work a tidy one-two, and the return pass sends the German through on goal, but his first-time shot is sent straight into the arms of Baumann!
48'
WIDE AGAIN! Durm makes a well-spoted run into attack and picks out Blaszczykowski. The winger gets into the centre and does well to force a ball across to Aubameyang inside the area, but the striker sends his shot wide of the far post! It's another chance squandered by the Gabon international!
46'
We are underway in the second half!
45' +1
That's the end of the first half here in Dortmund!
45'
OFF THE WOODWORK! Polanski plays a wonderful through ball into the path of Schipplock, who beats the offside trap but smacks his shot off the near post with Langerak beaten... or did he? The assistant referee puts the offside flag up late, but the replay shows it was not the right decision.
43'
Dortmund certainly appear to have more goals in them. They are moving the ball brilliantly through midfield and seamlessly transitioning into attack. Aubameyang is not doing his part, however, and it has hurt BVB dearly in this first half.
41'
STAT ATTACK: Hoffenheim have just one victory in eight all-time trips to the Signal Iduna Park (D3, L4). That was a historic win for the club, with two second-half penalty goals from Salil Salihovic securing all three points in the most dramatic fashion, allowing them to jump ahead of Fortuna Dusseldorf and out of the relegation zone on the final day of the 2012/13 season.
39'
NEARLY THE EQUALIZER! It's another remarkable move forward from the hosts! Their build-up play has been superb, but Aubameyang is not getting the job done in the centre - he needs to provide a better target to get on the end of these attacks. Kagawa and Blaszczykowski link-up well and the give-and-go plays the winger through into the area and his ball back into the centre creates a few moments of chaos, but no one can get the decisive touch before it's scrambled clear.
37'
HAS TO BE BETTER! Lovely link-up in midfield between Gundogan and Kagawa, before the Japan international plays an elegant ball through for Aubameyang. The striker has a clean look at goal, but with Strobl applying pressure, he drags his shot well wide of the far post.
35'
Vital clearance! Another threatening counter from Hoffenheim has Dortmund looking unsettled at the back. Schwelger sends a good ball forward to pick out the run of Beck, but the right-back's cross is headed behind at the last second by Sokratis, with Schipplock arriving.
33'
Hoffenheim are flowing with confidence and you can see the added spring in their step. The Signal Iduna Park has been silenced, with their team now trailing less than 10 minutes after they took the lead!
31'
Dortmund are undoubtedly enjoying the better of play, looking quite dangerous in attack, but as has been the case for them all season, they are making far too many careless mistakes at the back and it is costing them dearly.
29'
STAT ATTACK: Hoffenheim have cruised through the last three rounds of the DFB-Pokal en route to a place in the quarter-finals, outscoring their opponents 16-1 in their three victories. They have yet to face Bundesliga competition in the tournament, however, until today.
27'
Roberto Firmino has scored a goal for Hoffenheim!
HORRENDOUS SLIP FROM SUBOTIC AND HOFFENHEIM HAVE TAKEN THE LEAD! It's absolutely abysmal from the centre-half, who can't control the ball, allowing Firmino to pounce and go clean through on goal. The Brazilian, fresh off an impressive international display, makes no mistake, finishing with a lovely chip over Langerak to give his side the lead!
25'
Just offside! A warning sign for Dortmund there, who are caught napping at the back as Schipplock latches onto a long ball forward from Andreas Beck, but striker just mistimed his run.
23'
Well what a start this has been! Both sides have to be applauded for their desire to get forward and attack straight from the opening kick-off. There certainly has not been a lack of chances, and it was just a matter of time before the goals started to follow!
21'
K. Volland has scored a goal for Hoffenheim! Assist by S. Rudy.
FANTASTIC RESPONSE FROM HOFFENHEIM TO LEVEL THINGS UP! It took no more than 90 seconds for the visitors to equalize - and from a corner of their own no less! Rudy delivers another superb ball in, which Volland meets, unmarked, near the top of the area. He lines it up and makes superb contact with his left-footed volley, giving Langerak no chance to keep it out!
19'
N. Subotić has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by J. Błaszczykowski.
DORTMUND HAVE SNATCHED THE LEAD! I'm not sure just how much he knew about it, but Subotic beats his marker following a corner and his sweeping half-volley creeps past Baumann, off the far post and in!
17'
Hoffenheim have responded well following the period of Dortmund pressure. The visitors win another corner and Rudy's delivery is again inviting, but Schipplock can't direct his header on target under pressure from Subotic.
15'
Well-worked by Firmino in attack! The Brazilian atones for his earlier mistake, holding the ball up well and picking out a clever pass for left-back Jeremy Toljan. The defender beats Erik Durm, but Neven Subotic rushes across to provide some important cover, preventing the cross from going through.
13'
STAT ATTACK: Borussia Dortmund are winless in their last three matches at the Signal Iduna Park (D1, L2), being held scoreless in each of those encounters. The last time they scored a goal at home was back on the final day of February, in a 3-0 victory over Schalke.
11'
Dreadful giveaway! Following a Dortmund corner, Hoffenheim appear to have won back possession. Roberto Firmino's rushed outlet pass is sent straight into the path of Kagawa, however. The Japan international has both Blaszczykowski and Aubameyang making runs ahead of him, but opts to go for goal himself, never really testing Baumann.
9'
GOOD EFFORT! Mkhitaryan does well to pressure Hoffenheim in possession and win the ball back for his side. He takes a few quick strides forward and unleashes a shot at goal, but Olivier Baumann proves up to the task.
7'
Encouraging play from Hoffenheim, with Sebastian Rudy proving the catalyst in attack. The midfielder shows excellent technique to dribble into space and win his side a corner. The ball is cleared, but Rudy keeps possession and picks out Volland, who is in turn kept out by some good defending from Bender.
5'
TREMENDOUS BUILD-UP! The hosts make a scintillating move forward, with Sven Bender picking out Shinji Kagawa, who in turns sends a good ball out to Jakub Blaszczykowski in space on the right. The winger's cross runs a bit far, but Henrikh Mkhitaryan keeps the pressure on and tees up Ilkay Gundogan atop the area. Nearly everyone touched the ball there, but the final effort from the midfielder is scuffed horribly and easily turned aside.
3'
Poor pass! A turnover in midfield presents Hoffenheim with a glorious chance on the counter. Sven Schipplock starts them forward and spots the run of Kevin Volland to his right, but fails to provide a good ball forward, allowing Sokratis to intercept far too easily.
1'
We are underway at the Signal Iduna Park! Dortmund are in their classic yellow and black home strip, attacking left to right. Hoffenheim are sporing their blue and white tops. Here we go!
Hello football fans around the world and welcome to Germany! The Signal Iduna Park is our venue today, where Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim do battle in the DFB-Pokal, with a place in the semi-finals on the line. I am Alex Moretto and I will be your in-game host, guiding you through the match LIVE as it happens!
Dortmund have had little to celebrate this season and there likely won’t be much to come, outside of this domestic cup competition. They crashed out of the Champions League and it will take a near perfect finish for them to qualify for Europe next season through the league. Their last remaining chance at finishing this campaign with a trophy is through the DFB-Pokal, which would also see them qualify for the group stage of next season’s Europa League. You can bet Jurgen Klopp will be taking the remainder of this competition very seriously.
Hoffenheim currently sit seventh in the Bundesliga, just two points outside the top six, which brings with it a spot in Europe next season. Their best-ever finish in the league was seventh, in 2008/09, their first in the top flight, a record they are hoping to beat this season. A debut appearance in European competition would be a massive achievement for Markus Gisdol's side, who can still realistically achieve this goal through either the league, or the DFB-Pokal – but they face a tough test today against a very hungry and determined Dortmund side.
HOFFENHEIM SUBS: Grahl, Elyounoussi, Zuber, Kim, Modeste, Szalai, Amiri.
Dortmund have been hampered by injuries, with stars Marco Reus and Mats Hummels set to miss out, though neither appear serious. The duo are replaced in the starting XI by Erik Durm - who will play right-back, pushing Sokratis Papastathopoulos to centre-half - and Henrikh Mkhitaryan respectively. Jurgen Klopp has opted to make two other changes, awarding Mitchell Langerak a rare start in goal, while Shinji Kagawa gets the chance to impress, pushing Kevin Kampl to the bench. It will be interesting to see how an already fragile Dortmund side do without arguably their two most important players.
Hoffenheim boss Markus Gisdol has made four changes of his own. There are two new faces in the back line, following a lopsided 4-1 defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach on the weekend, with Ermin Bicakcic and Jeremy Toljan included in the starting XI at the expense of David Abraham and Jin-Su Kim. In midfield, Steven Zuber and Nadiem Amiri are relegated to a spot on the bench, with regular starters Eugen Polanki and Pirmin Schwelger back in the side after resting over the weekend.
HALF TIME: DORTMUND 1-2 HOFFENHEIM. Jurgen Klopp makes a quick escape down the tunnel and these home fans are not impressed with this scoreline at the break. Neven Subotic put the hosts in front inside 20 minutes, but it took Hoffenheim no more than 90 seconds to respond through Kevin Volland. The Dortmund goalscorer then had a nightmarish slip at the back to allow Firmino to give the visitors the lead and that is where we stand after 45 minutes.
He may not be playing, but Mats Hummels - in street clothes attire - leads Dortmund out of the tunnel for the second half.
FULL TIME: DORTMUND 2-2 HOFFENHEIM (3-2 aet). Sebastian Kehl's extra time stunner proves to be the difference as Jurgen Klopp's side secure their place in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal.
I am Alex Moretto and I would like to thank you all for joining me here today. Good bye!
