LATE CHANCE for Juventus to cause problems with a free kick, but Marchisio's delivery is headed away by Hummels. But before any Bianconeri player can orchestrate another attack from the rebound, the referee blows the whistle for full time!
90' +1
Into stoppage time here and there's truthfully not a lot to report in terms of final-third action. Schmelzer has an opportunity to put a cross into a good area but the ball boys are the only ones in position to get on the end of that delivery.
89'
K. Coman enters the game and replaces C. Tevez.
Coman, the former PSG prodigy, comes on for Tevez, who hears it from the crowd. The Argentine was at his clinical and persistent best tonight. That, combined with Padoin's introduction, is a signal that Allegri is quite content taking a 2-1 lead to Signal Iduna Park.
87'
Vidal's night is at an end as Padoin comes on in his stead. Will Juventus rue that last miss from Pereyra? Only time will tell, but I think that on the whole, this is a fair scoreline to finish the first leg with.
86'
S. Padoin enters the game and replaces A. Vidal.
85'
AND THAT WAS THE CHANCE! Juventus nearly put one foot in the quarter-finals as Morata spins on a dime in order to play in Pereyra behind his marker on the left side of the box. The substitute slashes the ball across Weidenfeller but it rolls tantalizingly wide of the woodwork!
83'
Bonucci is down following a Dortmund corner, but he should be alright to continue. FINELY poised as we enter the last few minutes. Despite the second half being starved for genuine chances, I won't be surprised if either of these teams nick a late goal.
81'
The free-kick from Reus is poor, but Juve can't keep a hold of the ball from Bonucci's initial headed clearance. The ball is worked back to Reus on the right, who crosses to the back post where Hummels heads the ball clear of the crossbar!
80'
Mkhitaryan is clipped by Pereyra, who is cautioned. Decent chance for Dortmund to launch the ball into the area and cause Buffon some problems. Reus stands over, ready to deliver...
79'
R. Pereyra gets yellow.
Minute
Description
78'
CARLITOS! The Argentine continues to threaten from long range, forcing a parry from Weidenfeller, which Dortmund can't prevent from turning into a corner. From the resulting delivery, Chiellini punishes a header just over again!
76'
J. Błaszczykowski enters the game and replaces C. Immobile.
KUBA TIME. The energetic Pole replaces the enigmatic Immobile. Aubameyang will lead the line now for the Bundesliga side. Will that provide a more incisive counter-attacking shape in the closing stages?
74'
Immobile had that snap-shot in the second minute that whistled just over and he comes somewhat close again, as his half-volley sneaks over the fingertips of Buffon and the crossbar. Other than those two efforts, it's been a rather uninspiring game from him.
72'
Chiellini heads over from a corner as Juventus continue to remind Dortmund just who the home team really is.
71'
OFF TARGET! That was nearly a third for the Bianconeri! Marchisio takes his marker out of the equation with a driving run that allows him to tee up Tevez, whose strike from 20 yards is deflected off Hummels and wide of the mark!
69'
Dortmund are now starting to commit more players forward and hunt for a second away goal. Their buildup in the middle third has been eye-catching, but it's all broken down too easy once in sight of Buffon.
67'
It seems like Dortmund are starting to run out of energy here after a hard pressing shift for the best part of an hour. They're mainly being forced to defend around their box now.
65'
Make now mistake, this is not a bad scoreline for either side. Dortmund have that crucial away goal and will fancy themselves for a win at Signal Iduna Park in front of their raucous fans. Juve though are experts of closing out results with narrow winning margins - at least domestically.
63'
It's been a different story from Juve in this half. They've had Dortmund squarely under their thumb, despite the lack of goalmouth action so far since the restart. Allegri must be pleased.
61'
A looping cross drops somewhat kindly for Tevez, who still has to do a lot to connect with the ball. He slashes it over the bar, and Dortmund can breathe. Just under half an hour to go.
59'
A delicate period in this game. The match hasn't been as mile-a-minute as the first half. It's still incredibly close though, with Juve remaining with a slender advantage. Both sides trade spells in possession.
57'
In other Champions League news, Barcelona are currently holding a comfortable 2-0 lead over Manchester City at the Ethiad thanks to a Luis Suarez double. So much for a recurrence of their crisis after they went down 1-0 to Malaga over the weekend.
55'
STRAIGHT AT BUFFON! Dortmund work a decent shooting chance as Aubameyang draws two defenders before sliding the ball wide to Immobile, who has to take it quickly on the turn lest the angle consume him. The Juventus keeper is never troubled though.
53'
Juve doing really well to force pressure in the Dortmund defensive third. Corner coming up for the home side, which is nearly thumped home by Bonucci, before Weidenfeller grabs the ball gratefully. The keeper looked in trouble there for a second, and is lucky that the ball came his way!
51'
WHAT A CHANCE! A corner is not dealt with properly by the Bundesliga side, and the ball drops to the striker unmarked at the near post. He whacks a side-footed half-volley embarrassingly over the bar, but his blushes are spared by a late offside flag.
49'
Vidal has been cantankerous with his tackling all game and his latest foul on Reus is an infraction too far for the referee to swallow. He will need to cool down now because some of his challenges have been untidy.
48'
A. Vidal gets yellow.
One change to round up from the half-time break as Sokratis has departed for Kirch. Not sure if that was an enforced substitution or a tactical one but the fact remains that half of Dortmund's starting back line is no longer on the pitch.
46'
O. Kirch enters the game and replaces S. Papastathopoulos.
Here we go again!
45' +1
That shouldn't change much from the way that Dortmund are approaching this game. They're behind very much against the run of play, and Klopp has to be pleased with some of their moves in the final third. Their chance creation could use a boost though.
44'
Poor again defensively from Dortmund. How was Morata allowed that much space to convert! Juve looked in some discomfort for large swathes of that half, but they've managed to wrangle a go-ahead goal.
42'
Álvaro Morata has scored a goal for Juventus! Assist by P. Pogba.
MORATA STRIKES! JUVE BACK IN FRONT! Pogba uses his frame to launch down the left-hand side, and he squares a ball into the six-yard area for Morata to slide home!
40'
The crowd are beginning to get frustrated as Juve continue to labour to keep Dortmund from buzzing around their defensive third. This is the same side that was in a relegation battle in the Bundesliga for a large chunk of the season. Such a strange campaign from Klopp's team.
38'
Dortmund are playing like the home side now, with Juve struggling to get a hold of the ball. The game has taken a more measured swing in tempo, but I still like how BVB are taking the initiative to enjoy themselves in possession.
37'
R. Pereyra enters the game and replaces A. Pirlo.
36'
Anything you can do, we can do better - or worse. Juve trumped Dortmund with a comical error to concede and now, on a more serious note, it appears that they will also be forced into an early substitution with Pirlo stricken. No disrespect to Piszczek, but the midfielder has been so central to Juve's gameplan so far. On comes Pereyra.
34'
This has been a lot better from Dortmund in the last few minutes. Reus is playing on the left, but he's done his best work when drifting centrally to run at the defence. It's still not quite the rapier-like Schwarzgelben attack that we've become used to in Europe though.
32'
M. Ginter enters the game and replaces Ł. Piszczek.
Sadly, Piszczek will play no further part in this game, and he has to be helped from the field in obvious agony. On comes Ginter, in probably the biggest game of his first season at Dortmund.
30'
Pogba slides in late on Piszczek, who goes down in a cry of agony. The Polish full-back has struggled with injuries in the last season or two, and I'd hate to see him succumb to his body again. Incidentally, the Frenchman escapes a booking that would have ruled him out of the second leg.
28'
A lot of Juventus possession in recent minutes. Dortmund have dropped back a little, perhaps taking note of the gaps that Pogba and Co. have been finding in front of their defence.
26'
FAR-POST CHANCE! Pirlo floats a free-kick to the back-end of the Dortmund area, where Bonucci always had the beating of Piszczek in the air. Climbing high, the centre-back smashes his forehead into the ball but he can't keep it down. Goal kick.
24'
Two contrasting approaches in midfield. Dortmund are pressing in a wave against the more measured, Pirlo-centric approach of Juventus. There's space in the Dortmund half whenever Juve navigate past the press, but on the other hand, they're always in danger of giving the ball away in their own half.
22'
WIDE OF THE MARK! Tevez hooks a cross into the area just before it runs over the byline, and Morata attacks it with a stooping header. Good idea from the striker, but he directs his effort wide of the post. The pace on the ball dissipated as it approached goal so Weidenfeller may have had it covered anyway.
20'
What a response from Klopp's men. Reus continues his goalscoring form in an explosive start to this round of 16 tie! Two mistakes have been directly responsible for both goals.
18'
M. Reus has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund!
ROOOOOOLLLLS REUS! DORTMUND ARE LEVEL! Juve outdo Dortmund with a comical slip from Chiellini who almost seemed to collide with a team-mate. Reus needs no second invitation to nip in and beat Buffon from the one-on-one!
17'
Dortmund are pressing for their lives as usual, but Juve are starting to get the measure of their layered approach. Pirlo struggled earlier against the harrying, but has been finding better outlets for his out-balls recently.
15'
Dreadful goalkeeping from the normally reliable Weidenfeller. Goalkeeping 101 really, the last place you want to parry anything is back into the six-yard area! Dortmund, like they have done so many times this season, have made things hard for themselves.
13'
C. Tevez has scored a goal for Juventus!
JUVE BREAK THE DEADLOCK! A Dortmund move collapses and Morata is away down the left via a feed from Tevez. The strike partnership bears glorious fruit when the Spaniard's cross is pushed back into contention by Weidenfeller, where the Argentine trickles it home!
12'
Dortmund try to respond with a period of possession of their own but their lack of ideas is palpable. Juve have seen the ball for a lot more, and have proven more accomplished with it as well. Reus and Aubameyang have both done nothing of note so far.
10'
The home side are starting to channel their crowd's fervor into an increasingly dominant display in midfield. They're finding gaps closer and closer to Weidenfeller's penalty area and the fans are sniffing a breakthrough!
8'
Tremendous atmosphere inside the Juventus Stadium. With season after season of domestic dominance under their team's belt, Champions League success is what the Bianconeri faithful really dream about. Even the famous Sudtribune stand in Signal Iduna Park will have a task on their hands to match this noise for the second leg in three weeks' time.
6'
Pogba has been drifting ahead of the rest of the midfield and attempting to latch onto the ball in gaps between the Juventus midfield and their defence. A few of the passes from Pirlo to him have been succinct, but the lanky Frenchman hasn't been able to create much on the ball.
4'
The midfield battle is going to determine the destiny of this game. Both sides are already in no mood to let any 50-50's pass them by. The referee, dormant so far, may be called into his pocket before long if the intensity continues on this upward trajectory.
2'
Pirlo gets pressed into a turnover and Reus plays the ball into Immobile on the edge of the area. The striker nearly stuns his former club from range, but his effort sails over the top of the bar. Juventus need to watch that lethargy in midfield against one of the best pressing sides on the planet.
1'
And we're off!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Champions League clash between Juventus and Borussia Dortmund. This should be a treat, with the bookmakers rating this as practically the most evenly-matched round of 16 tie. Tonight we're at the Juventus Stadium for the first leg. Join me, Keeghann Sinanan, for all the action.
Dortmund entered the Bundesliga winter break seemingly trapped in a relegation battle, but they've finally made the push up the standings that almost everyone expected that they would at some point. Three wins on the trot in the league has seen them into 12th place, eight points outside the European places (but still only three points above the drop zone).
The Old Lady haven't tasted defeat in normal time since October's reverse to Genoa. Juve's main concern in the last few years have always been on the continent, having not made it past the last eight since the 2002-03 campaign when they were beaten in the final by fellow Serie A side AC Milan.
These two teams have a limited yet storied history. Their last meeting came in the 1996-97 final in Munich, a match which Juventus entered as holders, having beaten Ajax the season before. However, the Bianconeri were unable to secure back-to-back trophies, with Karl-Heinz Riedle (2) and Lars Ricken leading die Schwarzgelben to the title in a 3-1 victory.
Arturo Vidal's groin problems were not enough to see him miss this match, and the Chilean starts tucked in behind a front two. Alvaro Morata has beaten out the out-of-sorts Fernando Llorente to partner Carlos Tevez in said frontline. Massimiliano Allegri swaps his full-backs from Juve's last game against Atalanta, with Patrice Evra and Stephan Lichtsteiner coming into the side.
Dortmund's European form has been a barometer for just how bad they've been domestically. They topped Group D after suffering only a single defeat, and scored 14 goals in the process (an average of just under three per game). The 2013 Champions League finalists can really crown their resurgence with a strong first-leg performance here.
Juventus are still running clear in Serie A with a nine-point lead, though they've dropped points recently against Cesena and Udinese. However, with title rivals Roma contriving to shoot themselves in the foot seemingly every other week, the Bianconeri remain with a clear path to their fourth straight Scudetto.
Dortmund skipper Mats Hummels is back in the defence, while Shinji Kagawa has been dropped for Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Jurgen Klopp's third and final change from their 3-2 win over Stuttgart sees new signing Kevin Kampl replaced by Ciro Immobile, who gets to play against one of his former clubs.
The referee brings a halt to proceedings in Turin as Juventus take a 2-1 lead into the break. Goals from Tevez and Morata sandwiched a Reus effort, but the Serie A side may well be counting their blessings after they were outplayed for periods of the first half. Interestingly, blame for all three goals can be laid at the door of the defending team for some poor sequences at the back. It's been an enthralling game and the second half promises to be a treat. Stay tuned.
Hope you enjoyed me babbling at you for the last two hours. From me, Keeghann Sinanan, it's goodbye for now.
The second half did not quite live up to the standards of a magnificent opening period, but this game was still must-see TV. Juventus have a slender 2-1 advantage to take into the second leg, but Dortmund are also licking their chops with a crucial away goal. Strikes from Tevez and Morata either side of a Reus effort was the story of the day. These two teams were as even and inseparable as all the pre-tie predictions suggested. Second leg is at Signal Iduna Park in three weeks' time.
