Selke drives down the left-hand side, before finding Fritz with a cross aimed towards the penalty spot. The captain can only turn the ball way over the crossbar! That should be that!
90' +3
Selke shoots from a tight angle, with Langerak able to make a strong save at his near post! The forward opted to ignore two green shirts in the box there, but they won't mind if Bremen can hold out.
90' +2
Selke manages to get beyond Kirch, before nutmegging his marker and breaking into the box. After being stopped in his tracks, the forward opts to take the ball into the corner, but can't prevent Piszczek from kicking the ball off him to win a goal kick for Dortmund.
90' +1
C. Makiadi enters the game and replaces Z. Junuzović.
Husing being introduced is yet another defensive switch for Bremen, with an additional central defender being shoehorned into the defensive line. Junuzovic is then withdrawn too, with defensive midfielder Makiadi having a few minutes to impose himself on proceedings.
90'
There are three minutes of stoppage time!
89'
O. Hüsing enters the game and replaces F. Bartels.
Bartels hits the post! The Bremen goalscorer is found by Fritz deep in the penalty area, before clipping a clever attempted finish over the goalkeeper and onto the inside of the far upright! Hummels hooks the rebound upfield.
87'
Junuzovic drives from deep, before finding Bartels in space on the right. Selke holds his run centrally, asking for a through ball to be cut inside Hummels, but his teammate's eventual pass is cut out by the Germany international. Bremen were centimetres away from having a clear one-on-one opportunity there.
86'
Lukimya strokes away a clearance, which finds the feet of Selke. Minute
Description
81'
Gundogan whips a free kick into the box, but Lukimya heads half clear. Kagawa keeps the attack alive, before clipping a cross towards the back post, but Ginter can only guide a header into the awaiting arms of Wolf. Another chance goes begging.
79'
Schmelzer gets the ball out of his feet before trying to deliver an early cross, but Fritz charges it down. Dortmund are building up some pressure, with Kagawa found inside the penalty area, but the Japanese substitute blasting horrifically over the target from 12 yards out under no pressure! That was the chance.
77'
Blaszczykowski breaks down the right, before setting a pass back to Grosskreutz. The utility man whips in a cross, but Gebre Selassie clears with relative ease. Die Schwarzgelben's fans won't want to see another cross for the rest of the season, at this rate.
76'
J. Błaszczykowski enters the game and replaces Ł. Piszczek.
75'
Only a quarter of an hour stands between Bremen and a much-needed three points, which would perhaps be enough to lift the hosts out of the relegation zone. Klopp can look to his bench to change the game, but there's not much available to alter things offensively.
73'
Schmelzer breaks down the left-hand side, but Gebre Selassie steps out well to rob the Germany international of the ball. Bremen then win a free kick as Junuzovic looked to break, with Piszczek coming across the Bosnian midfielder.
71'
Suddenly the complexion of the game has changed somewhat! Could Bartels' recent miss at 2-0 now prove costly? Hummels has made up for a couple of errors with a goal, but Dortmund have got a lot more work to do if they are to snatch a share of the spoils.
69'
M. Hummels has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by İ. Gündoğan.
GOOOOOOOOAL! HUMMELS HEADS HOME! GAME ON IN BREMEN! The Germany international rises well to meet a corner delivery, steering a header across goal and into the bottom-right corner! Dortmund have one back!
68'
Piszczek whips another cross into the box, but Lukimya is yet again the man to meet it. The travelling Dortmund fans will be pained by watching this showing from their side, despite looking brighter since the break they've continued to cross the ball harmlessly. Selke whips a cross onto Bartels' instep, but the German forward can only pass wide of the target.
66'
Immobile manages to work his way into the penalty area, before shooting from a tight angle, but Wolf palms the ball around the post. The corner delivery bobbles to the back post, but the Italy international gifts possession away needlessly. Dortmund are making too many sloppy errors this afternoon.
64'
The home crowd are back in fantastic voice now! The Bundesliga's bottom club are leading against Dortmund by two goals, with only 25 minutes left to play! Bremen's home form is once again proving absolutely vital to their top flight survival aspirations.
62'
F. Bartels has scored a goal for Werder Bremen! Assist by D. Selke.
GOOOOOOOOOAL! BREMEN MAKE IT TWO! Bartels is the man who has got it! Selke drives down the right before picking out a brilliant cross, which his strike partner merely has to stroke home! Piszczek had switched off entirely! Dortmund are in big trouble now.
61'
Bartels is released by Fritz down the right-hand side, before he combines well with Kroos! The former is fed to the left byline, before cutting back an intelligent ball, but Hummels slides in just ahead of Selke to deny him!
60'
Only half an hour remains for the away side to turn things around, with two goals possibly beyond Dortmund's capabilities. After initial resurgence from Klopp's men, Bremen finally get their foot on the ball and therefore a foothold in the second half. The visitors' momentum is petering out.
59'
F. Kroos enters the game and replaces M. Lorenzen.
58'
For Dortmund to claw back victory from the jaws of defeat would be a big ask, given that Die Schwarzgelben have failed to recover each time they have been behind at the half-time interval during the current Bundesliga campaign. The early second-half signs, however, are that Klopp's men can get something out of this game. Nouri responds with a substitution, readying Kroos on the sideline.
56'
Aubameyang picks out Kagawa with a near-post cross, but the former Manchester United attacking midfielder can only guide a header wide of the near post! The second half has been all Dortmund, but as of yet the away side haven't been able to restore parity.
55'
Nouri is becoming more animated on the sidelines, as his team start to be asked more questions. The gap between midfield and defence has become stretched for the hosts, allowing for Dortmund to exploit the space. Aubameyang shoots from range, but his effort skews wide of the far post.
53'
Klopp's change at the break appears to be having the desired effect, with the visitors looking much more vibrant in possession. Immobile has come somewhat deeper to see more of the ball too. Aubameyang throws himself to the floor in the box, claiming a push from Gebre Selassie, but the referee isn't interested at all.
51'
Piszczek sees a cross deflected just wide by Garcia! The Poland international is found by Immobile, before his back-post cross clips the Bremen left-back and loops beyond the far upright! That was incredibly close and the goalkeeper was helpless.
50'
Gundogan curls a free-kick delivery in towards the back post, but Hummels is beaten to the ball. Die Schwarzgelben are leaving more yellow shirts in advanced positions, but the tendency continues to be towards a lofted cross into the penalty area.
49'
Dortmund start the period fairly brightly, seeing plenty of the ball and moving it quickly. Bargfrede switches play to Junuzovic on the left, who allows Garcia to overlap before feeding his teammate. The Argentine delivers a cross, but it evades two green shirts before zipping out of play.
47'
Klopp makes one change at the break, with Kagawa introduced in place of Kehl, which may lead to Gundogan sitting back slightly. The Japan international should provide a central threat in between the lines, which should go some way to solving Die Schwarzgelben's first-half offensive predictability.
46'
S. Kagawa enters the game and replaces S. Kehl.
We are underway in the second half! Dortmund have 45 minutes to turn this contest around in Bremen, but the Bundesliga's bottom side won't give up a share of the spoils without a fierce battle.
45'
Piszczek whips a cross in towards the near post, which Kirch manages to pounce upon due to a fortunate deflection! His first touch turns the ball towards goal, but it is straight at the goalkeeper, who handles well. Moments earlier, Aubameyang failed to make contact with an acrobatic volley at the back post.
43'
Great goalkeeping from Langerak! Hummels makes another mistake, with Bremen streaking forward immediately! Selke and Lorenzen combine, setting the former in behind the Dortmund defence, but the Australian shot-stopper races out to blast the ball away!
41'
Bartels nearly slips a through ball into the path of Selke, but Langerak is straight off his line to slide in and smother the pass. Bremen, despite sitting back for long periods, look very dangerous whenever they press upfield.
40'
Dortmund are moving the ball slightly quicker from side to side, opening up space for their full-backs, but Klopp's men are still merely trying to deliver cross after cross. Lukimya is gobbling up deliveries, with Immobile yet to win an aerial battle.
38'
Aubameyang tries to beat Lukimya, but the physically imposing defender covers across brilliantly to outmuscle his man before deliberately rebounding the ball off his adversary for a throw in. The home crowd roar and Lukimya and Garcia share a handshake. Bremen are up for this one!
36'
Kirch whips a cross in towards the back post, but Lukimya rises highest to head clear. The ball falls to Aubameyang, but the forward can't bring it under his spell to shoot. Fritz goes down holding his head, causing a stoppage in play, but the midfielder is quickly back to his feet.
34'
Junuzovic picks out Gebre Selassie at the back post with a free-kick delivery, but the Czech international is unable to turn his header back square across goal. Bremen continue to look more threatening, with Dortmund having just over ten minutes to stage a resurgence and find an equaliser before half time.
32'
Schmelzer fires over! Grosskreutz cuts inside and shoots, before seeing his effort blocked, with the Dortmund left-back following up! His attempted half volley lasers over the crossbar and high into the stand behind Wolf's goal.
30'
Kirch feeds Aubameyang down the right-hand side, before the Gabonese forward whips in a cross towards Immobile. The Italy international loses his balance, with the loose ball bobbling across the penalty area, but Gebre Selassie gets to it ahead of Grosskreutz to clear.
28'
Aubameyang winds Selke with a rather powerful volley to the chest, with the former St Etienne man certainly knowing what he was doing there. Not very sporting, but Dortmund might have to revert to other methods to have any chance of victory in Bremen.
26'
Lorenzen fires just wide! The youngster breaks down the right, skipping around Hummels after Gundogan was outmuscled in midfield. After approaching the edge of the box, the Bremen forward skews his effort just beyond the post, with Selke asking why he didn't square the ball.
24'
Selke streaks down the left-hand side, before whipping in a ball towards the back post, but Schmelzer is able to hurriedly hack away for a throw in. Bremen load the box, but Dortmund clear, before Gebre Selassie shows just enough pace to deny Aubameyang a chance to break.
22'
Bartels is just about denied by an interception by Ginter, as Dortmund come under pressure briefly. Both the former Freiburg youngster and Langerak have looked a tad nervous on the ball, with the goalkeeper's kicking coming into question. Bremen will be confident of securing three points this afternoon.
20'
Kirch picks out Schmelzer on the left-hand side, but the left-back's eventual attempted cross is dealt with easily. Bremen have been under pressure but extremely comfortable at the same time. The likes of Sahin and Kagawa have to feel as though they'll get a run out sooner rather than later here.
19'
Dortmund continue to look extremely sluggish and predictable, with Bremen easily able to deal with frequent early crosses from either flank. Immobile has had absolutely awful service, with the former Torino man yet to have even a half chance. Junuzovic flights in a delivery from the left-hand side, but Langerak claims simply.
17'
Garcia meets a Junuzovic corner at the back post, but it is far too tame to reach Langerak's goal. Despite Dortmund being a goal behind, the Australian goalkeeper has been asked to do absolutely nothing but pick the ball out of his own net.
15'
Aubameyang can't quite turn a corner delivery towards goal, before Bremen break. Selke and Bartels combine, before Ginter puts in a good block to deny a shot from the latter. The home side are looking potent on the counter.
13'
Bremen are remaining very deep and compact, before trying to break smartly - and they look dangerous when they do hurtle upfield. Without the likes of Sahin, Mkhitaryan and Kagawa on the field to work their magic in between the lines, it's tough to see how Die Schwarzgelben will break down their opponent.
11'
Aubameyang drops a shoulder before beating Garcia for pace, but Lukimya heads away the Dortmund man's cross. Possession is recycled, before the Gabonese forward whips in a second delivery, but this time a combination of Wolf and Lukimya deals with it. The away side are looking predictable at the moment.
9'
Dortmund enjoy a calming spell in possession, but can't make anything happen offensively. Schmelzer tries to deliver an early cross from the left, but sees it blocked, before Gundogan goes down on the edge of the penalty area and isn't awarded a free kick.
7'
Dortmund only manage to half clear a corner, which leads to Lukimya seeing a close-range effort deflected behind for a second set piece in a row. Bartels is picked out by an intelligent delivery, but sees his first-time effort hurtle into a ruck of yellow shirts and away from danger.
5'
A dream start for the Bundesliga's bottom side! Three points would be invaluable for Bremen, while Klopp watches on from his technical area in disbelief. Schmelzer cuts a cross towards the back post, but Gebre Selassie heads clear under no pressure.
3'
D. Selke has scored a goal for Werder Bremen! Assist by S. García.
GOOOOOOOOOAL! SELKE GIVES BREMEN THE LEAD! The German forward is picked out behind the Dortmund back four, before curling a brilliant finish around Langerak and inside the far post! Hummels gets drawn out, leaving plenty of space for the goalscorer to exploit!
2'
The home supporters are baying from the very start, in what is a very enclosed stadium - this should make for an intimidating atmosphere for Die Schwarzgelben to play in. Aubameyang tries to break through the heart of the hosts' defence immediately, but an errant touch lets him down.
1'
We are underway in the first half in Bremen! The home crowd are expectant, with their side's recent form at the Weserstadion probably the motivation behind plenty of noise. This afternoon's constitutes a huge opportunity for Dortmund to get their Bundesliga wheels rolling.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of Borussia Dortmund's trip to face Werder Bremen in some of this afternoon's Bundesliga action. Nobody would have expected Jurgen Klopp's side to have remained embroiled in the relegation struggle at the foot of the table for so long, but now Die Schwarzgelben have a fantastic opportunity to move upwards. The hosts sit at the bottom of the German top flight, leaving Dortmund with a gilt-edged chance to kick start their league campaign.
I'm Simon Harrison and I will be keeping you up to date with proceedings from Weserstadion, with both sides managing merely one competitive win in their last five outings. Bremen are unbeaten in their last five contests at home, however, meaning that Dortmund's task may not be as simple as it first appears. Klopp has named a somewhat rotated side, but three points is definitely point one on the visitors' agenda.
TEAM NEWS: Luca Caldirola is unavailable for the home side, due to the red card he picked up last time out in Bremen's 4-1 thumping at the hands of Borussia Monchengladbach. Assani Lukimya comes into the eleven in the Italian's absence, while Cedric Makiadi drops to the bench in favour of Melvyn Lorenzen. Alexander Nouri appears to have shifted to playing two strikers, possibly to take advantage of Dortmund's leaky back four.
TEAM NEWS: Mitch Langerak maintains his place in the line-up for the visitors, with Erik Durm dropping out. Matthias Ginter partners Mats Hummels at the centre of defence in the absence of both Sokratis and Neven Subotic - with Dortmund's injury list leaving them short defensively. Oliver Kirch joins Sebastian Kehl in midfield to add some additional physical presence, while Kevin Grosskreutz provides industry from the left. Ciro Immobile continues as a lone striker, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan continues to sit out through injury.
HALF TIME! Bremen lead 1-0 at the break against Dortmund, with the away side looking offensively impotent once again. Mistakes from Hummels have put Die Schwarzgelben in trouble, with the hosts looking solid in defence and dangerous on the counter. Klopp's men are sitting in a very precarious position in this contest.
FULL TIME! Bottom of the table Bremen triumph 2-1 over Dortmund at the Weserstadion, with goals from Selke and Bartels wrapping up a much-needed three points for Nouri's men. Die Schwarzgelben managed a consolation courtesy of Hummels, but fail to win again in the Bundesliga heading into the Christmas break. The hosts leapfrog their opponents in the table as a result! That's all we have time for, I've been Simon Harrison and I hope to see you again next time.
