The whistles are ringing around the stadium, with the home fans wanting to hear the referee's whistle! Another cross is thrown into the box, but Fahrmann claims again.
90' +2
Anywhere will do for Schalke at the moment, with the likes of Uchida hacking the ball upfield in any direction! They've really got their backs to the wall, but Huntelaar is released by Meyer! The Dutchman cuts inside, before slotting a finish under Weidenfeller, but it takes a slight deflection and bobbles just wide!
90'
There are four minutes of stoppage time for Dortmund to find that elusive equaliser!
88'
Schalke try to launch a long ball into the box, but Weidenfeller claims! The Dortmund man hasn't had a lot to do this half, but was alert there! Still the yellow tide surges forward in search of an equaliser.
87'
J. Matip gets yellow.
86'
Aubameyang is found in behind enemy lines on this occasion, but the outcome is the same, with Schalke's goalkeeper coming from the altercation with the ball within his grasp. He's been in solid form this afternoon.
85'
Ramos races in behind Fuchs, controlling fairly well, but Fahrmann bravely snatches possession from the outstretched boot of the former Hertha striker. Close, but not close enough for Dortmund.
84'
Dortmund continue to lead the charge, but Schalke's penalty area is well populated with Keller's men looking solid off the ball. The visitors did snatch a late point against Stuttgart, however, last time out. Bender blasts way over from range.
82'
There's pinball on the edge of the penalty area for Dortmund, but Sokratis is eventually able to clear the danger. This game is very finely balanced as we head towards the 90 minute mark.
80'
S. Papastathopoulos enters the game and replaces M. Hummels.
Jojic flashes a header wide! The Serbian midfielder arrives late at the back post, angling an effort back across goal, but Fahrmann is confident enough to let it skip beyond the upright. Sokratis is introduced in place of the returning Hummels.
Minute
Description
79'
K. Ayhan enters the game and replaces M. Höger.
Ayhan is the man to take Hoger's place, with the Turkish defender giving Schalke's eleven an even more negative look. Narrowly over ten minutes remain for the hosts to hold out, with plenty of blue shirts around the penalty area now.
78'
Jojic earns his team a free kick, which is hooked into the box but to no avail. Hoger, meanwhile, signals to the bench that he needs to be replaced due to injury.
76'
Fahrmann gets lucky! The goalkeeper comes out to claim the free kick but doesn't manage to, with Jojic's resulting square ball hurriedly hooked away at the back post!
75'
Die Schwarzgelben are pushing plenty of yellow shirts into the final third, looking to suffocate Schalke and make it difficult for the hosts to break upfield too regularly. Hoger concedes a free kick 30 yards from goal for a foul on Ramos.
73'
The clock is ticking for Dortmund, with Schalke's introduction of Fuchs showing that Keller is perhaps looking to shut up shop slightly, as the Austrian is a left-back by trade. The atmosphere continues to be utterly fierce!
71'
C. Fuchs enters the game and replaces K. Boateng.
Only 20 minutes remain for Dortmund to get back on level terms, though they have been narrowly the better side since the restart. Jojic tries to shoot from the edge of the box, but is well denied. Schalke now opt for a change of their own, with Boateng replaced by Fuchs.
69'
M. Jojić enters the game and replaces K. Großkreutz.
Jojic is now introduced by Klopp to give Dortmund some additional intensity in midfield, with utility man Grosskreutz the man replaced. Choupo-Moting breaks down the left quickly, before the goalscorer is denied by a great sliding block from Subotic.
67'
Tempers flare, as Ramos and Fahrmann exchange words after the Colombian striker appeared to be clipped on the edge of the box by Matip. The Schalke defender was convinced he did nothing wrong, while Klopp is presenting the opposite side of the argument to the fourth official.
66'
Aubameyang whips in a corner delivery, but Subotic is penalised for a foul. The Serbia international will have to be careful, he has already received a yellow card during today's proceedings. Another poor challenge and he could be off.
64'
Dortmund are seeing more of the ball, with Schalke happy to sit back in two banks of four. As the away side like to break, as opposed to controlling games, this situation could prove challenging for Klopp's men.
62'
Fahrmann turns an Aubameyang free kick behind! The former Saint Etienne striker dips an effort over the wall, with the Schalke goalkeeper required to athletically tip the ball around the upright! Dortmund are getting closer.
61'
With half an hour left on the clock, Dortmund are chasing down their leaders desperately, with plenty of yellow shirts bombing forward at every opportunity. After failing to grab a win in their last two league outings, Die Schwarzgelben really need a victory to keep pace with Bayern Munich.
59'
Piszczek drives down the right, before picking out Kagawa at the edge of the box, but the Japan international can't control. Schalke half-clear, gifting the ball to Ginter, whose deflected effort earns Dortmund a corner - which Fahrmann punches away.
57'
S. Kagawa enters the game and replaces C. Immobile.
Hoger goes down inside his own penalty area with a head injury, with the midfielder requiring a bit of treatment off the field. Kagawa is now introduced for Die Schwarzgelben, with the Japanese forward able to offer some additional creativity.
56'
Immobile and Aubameyang combine brilliantly, with the former able to loop a header into the penalty area for the latter to search for. Fahrmann is just about able to race out and smother the ball ahead of the Gabon international.
55'
Ramos looks to head a ball through the heart of the Schalke defence for Immobile to chase, but Uchida covers across excellently to beat the Italian to it. Kagawa is readying himself on the sidelines for Dortmund.
54'
N. Subotić gets yellow.
53'
Dortmund whip a few dangerous crosses into the box, but Matip and Neustadter deal with them well. Klopp's men have definitely started the second half the better of the two sides, but Schalke pose a huge threat on the counter.
51'
Boateng fires wide! The Ghana international arrives late at the edge of the box, but can only drag an effort wide of the far post with Weidenfeller rooted to the spot! That was a big chance for the former Milan midfielder.
49'
Immobile is denied by Fahrmann! The former Torino man tries his luck from the edge of the box, with the Schalke goalkeeper having to dive full stretch to tip the ball behind for a corner! The set piece is whipped in, but Fahrmann claims under his own crossbar.
48'
It's a slightly cagey start to second half proceedings, with words of caution presumably given to both sides by their respective coaches at the break. The lack of defensive quality on show thus far this afternoon has been startling.
46'
We are back underway in a very colourful Veltins-Arena, as Dortmund attempt to comeback from a 2-1 half-time deficit. They managed it last time out against Stuttgart, but Schalke are a far higher quality kettle of fish.
45' +1
Durm overlaps down the left-hand side excellently, before going down due to a slight nudge from Clemens. The referee isn't interested, despite the young Dortmund man being convinced he was fouled.
45'
There is one minute of stoppage time.
44'
Schalke lofted a 40-yard free-kick into the box, but Subotic rises highest to head away. Dortmund break with Aubameyang, but the Gabon international is felled by an excellent sliding challenge while in full flight. Clemens then bursts down the right and whips a cross in towards the back post, but Huntelaar can't find his first touch despite being in acres of space.
42'
Meyer opens up play to the right flank, but Durm makes a timely interception to ensure that Clemens isn't able to threaten in behind. Moments later, Choupo-Moting crosses from the left, but Hummels manages to control with his chest and then hoof clear.
40'
Piszczek shoots again, this time from range, but Fahrmann is able to gobble up the low drive. Dortmund have definitely improved since grabbing their first goal of the afternoon, with Schalke's goalkeeper called into action far more regularly.
39'
Piszczek forces Fahrmann into a save! The right-back bursts down the flank on the break, before cutting into the area. Instead of squaring a pass, the Polish defender shoots, with the goalkeeper getting up a strong hand to deny him.
37'
C. Clemens enters the game and replaces S. Sam.
Keller is forced into his first change of the game, with Clemens introduced in place of Sam. The Germany international didn't offer a great deal down the right-hand side, retiring before the break.
36'
Meyer skips between two challenges before switching play to Choupo-Moting on the left-hand side, but Piszczek is able to keep close enough tabs on the Schalke goalscorer. The trio behind Huntelaar are proving difficult to deal with for Dortmund.
34'
Durm bursts beyond Uchida before delivering a cross, but the ball is half-cleared to Ramos at the near post. The Colombia international sets back a pass to Bender, but the defensive midfielder's first-time shot is charged down effectively.
32'
A couple of offside decisions against Meyer and Immobile fracture play, as both sides continue to stream forward at every opportunity. There has to be plenty of goals in this game, the defensive side of things is being quite readily ignored.
30'
A quarter of an hour remains until the interval, with it incredibly difficult to predict who will net the next goal in this contest! Ramos is nearly found by another hopeful clip forward by Dortmund, but Fahrmann is able to claim ahead of the Colombian striker.
28'
What a first half we've had on our hands! Three goals and plenty of entertainment, with the Dortmund away support becoming much more audible once again! It's end-to-end stuff, involving two teams who aren't particularly solid defensively.
26'
P. Aubameyang has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by A. Ramos.
GOOOOOOOOAL! AUBAMEYANG PULLS ONE BACK! Ramos breaks down the right-hand side powerfully, before playing in a cross which is too far behind Immobile. Instead, the ball rolls out to the Gabon international on the far side, who guides a finish beyond the despairing hand of Fahrmann! Game on!
25'
The opening stages couldn't have gone better for Schalke, with the home side holding a commanding lead. Dortmund did come back from two goals behind versus Stuttgart last time out, but Keller's men are a much higher quality outfit.
23'
E. Choupo-Moting has scored a goal for Schalke 04!
GOOOOOOOOOOAL! CHOUPO-MOTING MAKES IT TWO! Weidenfeller makes a great save to deny a Matip header, but Dortmund can't clear their lines! There's pinball in the box, before the Cameroonian forward slams a low finish into the bottom right corner!
22'
Huntelaar hasn't managed to get himself involved thus far, but the Dutchman only needs one chance to net himself a goal. Choupo-Moting breaks down the left dangerously, but Piszczek gets across brilliantly to rob the winger of possession and concede a corner.
20'
But for a couple of routine stops for Fahrmann, Schalke can be very pleased with what they've managed to do in the first 20 minutes. They've frustrated Klopp's side into half chances and broke forward with constant intent.
18'
Immobile fires wide! The Italy international races down the right-hand side, before breaking into the box, but can't place a finish across goal and inside the far post! That was a great run from the summer signing, but he fails to net his second Bundesliga goal.
16'
Grosskreutz shoots from range, but his effort is deflected behind for a corner. It is flicked on at the near post, before finding its way back out for another set piece for Dortmund. They can't make it count, however, with Schalke clearing at the near post.
14'
A cross is whipped into the box by Durm, but Neustadter is able to rise highest to nod away. Aside from Aubameyang's pace looking dangerous on the break, Dortmund haven't been able to string together a threatening passage of play.
13'
Schalke have the visitors slightly rattled, with poor defending becoming rapidly characteristic of Klopp's side this season. Dortmund are struggling to find a foothold in the game, with high pressure from Keller's men frustrating their attempts to break forward.
11'
The home side break forward again from kick off, with Choupo-Moting driving into the penalty area. The Cameroon international cuts back a cross, but Hummels is able to cut it out and clear the danger.
10'
J. Matip has scored a goal for Schalke 04! Assist by D. Aogo.
GOOOOOOOAL! MATIP HEADS HOME! Choupo-Moting strikes from 30 yards out, but his attempt takes a deflection and heads behind for a corner. It's whipped in towards the back post, with the Schalke defender giving his side an early lead from an unmarked position! The hosts lead 1-0!
8'
Dortmund are playing very directly from the start, lofting forward long balls in search of Aubameyang and Immobile. The former tries his luck 25 yards from goal, but Fahrmann is able to scramble to his right to claim.
6'
There's a high tempo to this one, with neither side wanting to play passively in front of passionate fans. Aogo breaks down the left before delivering a good cross, but Subotic heads away at the back post.
4'
Finally, after a couple of minutes out of play, Piszczek returns to the field, levelling the amount of personnel on show. Dortmund look long, with Immobile and Ramos chasing, but Fahrmann is quick off his line to clear.
3'
Piszczek is getting stitches while lying on his back on the sidelines, with Dortmund sitting deep and looking to weather the storm in the meantime. The fans are in fantastic voice in the early stages of this one!
2'
There's already a stoppage in play, as Piszczek and Choupo-Moting clash heads rather sickeningly. The Poland international has a small cut above his eye, but is quickly attended to on the sidelines by Dortmund's physios. Schalke try to take advantage of their numbers, but Sam fires straight at Weidenfeller.

Two very strong elevens are facing up for this competitive clash!
I'm Simon Harrison and I will be keeping you up to date with all of the action, in what should be an entertaining early contest. Jens Keller's side are coming into this clash on the back of a convincing 3-0 win over Werder Bremen, while Dortmund have struggled against both Mainz and Stuttgart in recent weeks - picking up a solitary point from the two matches.
TEAM NEWS: Joel Matip comes into centre-back for the hosts, with Dennis Aogo moving to left-back in place of Christian Fuchs. Kaan Ayhan drops to the bench.

Matthias Ginter joins Sven Bender in shielding the back four, with Adrian Ramos drafted into the side in place of Shinji Kagawa. The Japan international keeps his place in the squad, but will have to make an impact from the bench. Henrikh Mkhitaryan is still sidelined.
Both teams are out on the field, in a cauldron of noise at the Veltins-Arena! After the pre-match niceties, kick-off will be imminent!
HALF TIME! The Ruhr derby has been a cracker so far, with Schalke leading 2-1 over the visiting Dortmund. The hosts went two goals ahead courtesy of Matip and Choupo-Moting, but a later Aubameyang strike has definitely made things very interesting at the Veltins-Arena.
Dortmund recovered from two goals down against Stuttgart last time out, meaning that a comeback is still on the cards for Klopp's men. Weidenfeller and Fahrmann have both been forced into saves in a very end-to-end match. Be sure to return for the second half action in ten minutes time!
FULL TIME! Schalke win the Ruhr derby 2-1, defeating rivals Dortmund at the Veltins-Arena. First-half goals from Matip and Choupo-Moting were just about enough for the home side, despite a reply from Aubameyang. Die Schwarzgelben kept pushing, but Keller's side held firm.
That's all we have time for from Gelsenkirchen, in an excellent end-to-end derby between Schalke and Dortmund! Wild celebrations have been sparked as a result, with the home fans jubilant! I've been Simon Harrison and I hope to see you again next time.
