KICK-OFF! Underway at Stade de Gerland as Paris Saint-Germain get us started this evening, attacking from right to left.
Good evening and welcome to live coverage of this evening's Ligue 1 clash between Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain at Stade de Gerland.
It is the culmination of the 33rd week in Ligue 1, and Paris Saint-Germain could've wrapped up the title here had AS Monaco dropped points. But Monaco's 1-0 win over Stade Rennes put paid to those hopes, as PSG's aim of winning the league title at this venue for the second year in a row was denied.
Olympique Lyonnais also departed European competition this week, going down 2-1 to Juventus in Turin, but Remi Garde's injury-hit side will have reason to be cheerful, after a strong European showing.
Tonight's fixture is a dress rehearsal for Saturday's Coupe de la Ligue final, the first final of the French football calendar. Lyon play PSG, both in their fifth CdL final at the Stade de France next Saturday at 21:00.
Meanwhile, Lyon will be hoping to cut the gap to Saint-Etienne in fourth to two points, following les Verts' 2-2 draw with Reims this afternoon. However, should they be defeated, Marseille will leapfrog them into fifth position.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
PARIS SG: Sirigu - Van der Wiel, Alex, Thiago Silva (cap), Digne - Motta, Matuidi, Cabaye - Pastore, Cavani, Lavezzi
TEAM NEWS: Alexandre Lacazette not in the starting line-up for Lyon, but it is due to rotation, with Lyon playing in their 55th game of the season. PSG meanwhile, are as expected, with the exception of Lucas Digne who replaces Maxwell.
PSG won the reverse fixture at the Parc des Princes 4-0 on December 1st, with PSG winning here 1-0 at Gerland to seal the 2012-13 Ligue 1 title.
It was a difficult week all round for les Parisiens, situations they don't often endure domestically. Following the euphoria of last week, they succumbed to a 2-0 defeat on the back of a sluggish performance against Chelsea to exit the Champions League on away goals, and at the quarter-final stage for the second year running.
HT: OL 1-0 PSG: Jordan Ferri's long range effort separates the two sides in an entertaining affair at Stade Gerland. PSG have come close, and have had a goal ruled out through Lucas Digne.
