Lukimya's pass from the back is flicked on but Weidenfeller beats Yildirim to it and that is the last action of the game!
90' +2
Whistles ringing around the stadium as Bremen hold possession and attempt to probe in the final moments.
90' +1
We are into the first of an additional three minutes.
90'
A long ball up from the back by Hummels is almost brought down by Lewandowski, but the Poland international's touch gets away from him and Mielitz collects.
88'
S. Bender enters the game and replaces M. Reus.
Klopp clearly looking to sure things up now, introducing Sven Bender for the last few minutes.
87'
GREAT STOP!! Di Santo almost levels the game in the closing stages with a fantastic effort from wide on the left. His attempt looks destined for the top corner but Weidenfeller springs up at his near post and tips the ball behind for a corner.
86'
Elia turns on the ball in the middle and looks to pick out Hunt inside the area. Schmelzer shields the ball from the Bremen man before clearing away the danger.
84'
OFF THE LINE!! From the resultant corner the ball eventually falls to Lewandowski and the striker flicks the ball towards goal. It would certainly have been his second of the night had Hunt not been back on the line, yet again, to clear away the danger.
ANOTHER CHANCE!! Hofmann plays Reus in, this time on the right, but his square pass across the box is behind Aubameyang. The Gabon international missing out on a glorious chance to add to his BVB tally there.
83'
Dortmund break through Aubameyang and he rolls the ball out wide for Hofmann. The substitute skips past Lukimya with ease but his attempts to find Lewandowski in the area are scuppered by another Gabre Selassie interception.
81'
J. Hofmann enters the game and replaces H. Mkhitaryan.
Bremen are starting to get a lot more time on the ball now and BVB are beginning to invite pressure onto themselves. Could be dangerous if they keep this up.
Minute
Description
79'
Crucial interception from Gebre Selassie there to stop Reus from getting into a one-on-one situation following a good flick on by Lewandowski. Had he got through, you would have bet on the German to find the back of the net.
78'
Dortmund have won five of their last six home matches against Bremen in all competitions. They are just over 10 minutes away from adding to that and enhancing their grip on the top of the Bundesliga, temporarily at least.
76'
An attack breaks down for the visitors as Caldirola's overhit cross is recovered by Junuzovic, but as he feeds Gebre Selassie the Czech can only run the ball out of play.
74'
GOOD SAVE MIELITZ!! Aubameyang springs the offside trap and is never being caught as he races towards goal. He was plenty of time to choose what to do, but he ends up sending a low shot at goal which the keeper stops with his leg.
73'
Unbelievable play from Schmelzer! The left-back controls the ball with his chest inside the area and the lifts it over the head of Hunt. He then fires a shot at goal but a deflection off of Gebre Selassie sees it go out for a corner. Reus whips the resultant set piece in but Subotic is unable to connect inside the six-yard box.
72'
Aubameyang gets to stretch his legs for the first time and he looks formidable as he sprints at the Bremen defence. He could shoot but stead looks to play the ball wide for Schmelzer. His pass, however, is behind the left-back and the attack breaks down.
71'
E. Elia enters the game and replaces Özkan Yıldırım.
69'
Aubameyang enters the fray! He hit a hat-trick on his debut on the opening day of the season. Can he add to his tally with 20 minutes left to play?
68'
P. Aubameyang enters the game and replaces J. Błaszczykowski.
67'
ACROBATIC EFFORT GOES OVER!! Reus and Schmelzer once more combine down the left with the defender sending a cross into the box. He hits it to close to Mielitz but he only flaps it as far as the penalty spot, where Sahin attempts to volley the ball into the net. The midfielder, however, again fires over.
66'
F. Kroos enters the game and replaces M. Ekici.
F. Di Santo enters the game and replaces M. Arnautović.
A couple of changes from Dutt as he looks to freshen things up. Felix Kroos is introduced while Franco di Santo makes his Bundesliga debut for the club fromer Chelsea team-mate Claudio Pizarro heavily suggested to him.
64'
That goal has really knocked the confidence of Dutt's men. Had they kept it scoreless for a while longer they may have fancied their chances of grabbing a goal. Now, though, things seem to have gone stale for them in the final third.
62'
Almost a beautiful pass from Reus! Again beating Gebre Selassie and cutting inside, he opts to pick out Mkhitaryan with a diagonal pass rather than shooting. He aims it perfectly but puts too much power behind it and Bremen are awarded a goal kick.
60'
Wide of the target! Gebre Selassie makes a rare venture forward and sends a cross towards the back post. Yildirim rises highest and attacks the ball well, however he sends his header well high and wide of goal.
57'
So, that is the first Bundesliga goal the Robin Dutt's men have conceded this season. You cannot say it had not been coming. BVB picked up where they left off after ramping up the pressure at the end of the first half.
55'
R. Lewandowski has scored a goal for Borussia Dortmund! Assist by M. Reus.
GOOOOAAL!! LEWANDOWSKI!! Grosskreutz picks the ball up on the right and plays a pass down to the byeline for Reus. He beats Lukimya for pace and squares into the six-yard box where Lewandowski, unmarked, slots home the opening goal.
54'
Caldirola is continually backing off of Kuba. He is clearly worried about being beaten for pace but if he lets him get so close to goal without a challenge he will create something.
52'
Great move from BVB! Reus drifts inside and lays the all of to Mkhitaryan, who in turn rolls a pass to Kehl. The midfield plumps for goal but sees his shot deflected behind for a corner kick.
51'
Kuba holds up the play wide on the left and spots Grosskreutz surging forward from deep. He looks to feed him on the inside but puts the pass just behind the right-back and Bremen come away with the ball.
50'
Dortmund are not happy as there is another break in play as Junuzovic falls to the ground. Looks like a clash of heads with Mkhitaryan but he only received a light brushing.
48'
This half has begun much like the first: with BVB on top. Kehl tries to bend an effort into the far corner but only finds Mielitz's arms. His blushes are spared somewhat though, as the referee's assistant raises his flag for an offside decision.
46'
We are back under way!
45' +2
GREAT ATTEMPT!! Hunt releases Arnautovic down the right side of the area and the Austrian aims a volley at the far corner. Weidenfeller is beaten but the ball skids just outside of the post.
45' +1
OFF THE LINE!! A header from a BVB corner is cleared away from a goal-line position by Hunt and Sahin fires his follow up effort narrowly over the bar.
45'
Another stop! BVB have really turned up the pressure in the closing moments, yet Mielitz refuses to be beaten. This time he parries Reus' effort away from goal, albeit somewhat unorthodoxly.
43'
GOOD SAVE!! Lewandowski once more goes close as he latches onto Mkhitaryan's unchallenged header at the top of the box. He shoots first time but sends his effort straight at Mielitz, who manages to push the ball off to the side.
42'
HE WAS SO CLOSE!! Kuba sends Grosskreutz down to the byeline and the makeshift right-back stands the ball up at the back post for Reus. The forward hits it first time and a deflection takes it just out the reach of Lewandowski, who was inches away from a simple finish.
41'
Caldirola puts the ball out of play as Arnautovic is down on the floor in the BVB half. Looks like the coaches are going to have a chance to have a few words with their players while the Austrian receives treatment for a seemingly innocuous collision.
39'
Dutt calls Ekici over to the sideline while there is a break in play and whispers something into his charge's ear. The midfielder goes straight for a run down the left so perhaps the coach wants him to get on the ball and try to get at Grosskreutz.
37'
Lewandowski gets his first shot away at goal after having the ball rolled to him by Reus but he pulls his attempt well wide of the far post.
36'
OFF THE BAR!! Grosskreutz releases Kuba down the right and Lukimya takes too long to close him down as he enters the area. The Polish winger thumps an effort at goal which has the beating of Mielitz at his near post but comes crashing back off the bar. Reus' follow up effort is then held comfortably by the keeper.
35'
Yildirim shows his inexperience there. The 20-year-old drops into a deeper position on the left and looks to spread the play with a searching pass to the other flank. He completely overhits it and ends up sending it out for a goal kick.
33'
Reus tries to dribble his way through the middle, from where his touch takes a deflection off of Makiadi and finds Schmelzer in space on the left. He drills a cross into the area but Prodl again positions himself well to clear it away.
32'
SO CLOSE!! Kehl picks out Reus in space on the left with a sublime pass. The forward brings the ball down and cuts inside of Gebre Selassie but once more sends his effort wide of Mielitz's right-hand post. Half the ground thought that one was in!
31'
Great play from Yildirim! The youngster races in from the right, skipping between Schmelzer and Kehl before seeing his shot get deflected behind for a corner.
29'
Robin Dutt's side have defended well so far this evening. The powerful combination of Prodl and Lukimya have only been penetrated once through the middle. We've seen very little from Lewandowski so far but you can never count the Poland international out.
27'
Sahin curls one in from the right but Prodl gets his head to the ball and clears away the danger. Bremen counterattack and get Arnautovic on the ball inside the area. The Austrian does well to turn and get a shot away, though he can only drag it harmlessly wide of Weidenfeller's goal.
26'
Kuba is caught down in the corner by Caldirola as he, Sahin and Grosskreutz combine to frustrate the Bremen defence. Another chance to get the ball in the box for the hosts now.
24'
The visitors are looking to hold onto the ball for a while longer now but Hunt is caught going back to his own goal, in his own half, by Kehl. Fortunately for the Bremen man the referee believes the BVB captain committed a foul in the process and awards a free kick.
22'
Bremen really need to look to get Ekici on the ball some more. He has been there driving force from the middle whenever he has got in possession.
20'
Over the bar!! Great interplay from BVB as Mkhitaryan surges through a gaping hole in the Bremen midfield. The Armenian plays a one-two with Lewandowski to get into the area but as Mielitz comes out to close the angle, he ends up looping the ball over the bar.
19'
Sahin has begun the game well and is making some great passes to link the back to the front. He switches the play out to the right for Grosskreutz but his first touch lets him down and Caldirola is able to recover.
17'
JUST WIDE!! Reus puts plenty of pace on his effort but he is unable to guide it inside Mielitz's post. The keeper looked fairly confident that that one was going wide of the target.
16'
A silly challenge from Makiadi! He dives in on Mkhitaryan when there really is no need. It gifts Reus a great chance to shoot for goal from this free kick on the left.
15'
There is a lot of fluidity and interchanging of positions for Bremen in the early stages. Ekici and Hunt are switching from midfield to attack while Yildirim appears to be operating primarily from the left. Arnautovic is drifting all across the front line to make himself available, but this is at times leaving the visitors short in midfield.
13'
A quick break from BVB as they catch the visitors on the break. Schmelzer has the ball wide on the left wing but he puts too much weight on his pass down the line to Reus. Prodl gets himself over and shepherds it out of play under pressure from the Dortmund forward.
12'
Lewandowski is penalised for a foul on Makiadi close to the half-way line. Bremen send up the big boys but Hunt's delivery is collected by Weidenfeller as he comes of his goal line. Solid goalkeeping.
10'
Reus whips it in with his left foot but Mielitz does well to keep the ball out of goal. Dortmund look to send it straight back into the area but a green shirt nods away the danger.
9'
Kuba again proves to be the dangerman, this time causing trouble down the left flank. He ducks inside of Prodl and the centre-back ends up bringing him to the ground. What can BVB make of this?
7'
Lukimya is forced to kick the ball behind for a corner as Kuba looks to get in behind. The centre-back does well and his team are able to defend the set play astutely.
6'
Dortmund are starting to get into their rhythm now. They are holding the ball well and knocking short, crisp passes about the pitch.
4'
First chance for BVB as they work the ball brilliantly from left to right. Jakub 'Kuba' Blaszczykowski gets to the byeline and drills the ball across goal but Gebre Selassie intercepts and sends it behind for a corner.
2'
Hunt and Arnautovic get a bit too close on the left wing but the former tries to send the latter on his way with a pass down the line. Subotic is watching and does well to come across and knock the ball back to his keeper. Good defending early on from BVB.
1'
The weekend of football has begun!
Straight away Caldirola sends a long ball up towards Arnautovic but his pass is out of the reach of the towering Austrian. Schmelzer covers in behind and is able to head the ball into the arms of Weidenfeller.
Hello and welcome to Goal's LIVE text commentary on tonight's Bundesliga meeting between Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen. The Signal Iduna Park is the venue this evening for a match in which one of these teams will lose their 100 per cent start to the new season. My name is Tom Webber and I am going to be your guide this mouth-watering match up.
A win for either side tonight would put them on top of the table for the evening, which would surely provide a confidence boost so early in the season. Here is who the two coaches have chose to start for this fixture...
Bremen Substitutes: Wolf, Hartherz, Elia, Kroos, Ignjovski, Petersen, Di Santo.
Ilkay Gundogan joins Lukasz Piszczek on the BVB injury table so Sebastian Kehl is awarded his first start of the season, with Sven Bender on the bench. Kevin Grosskreutz continues at right-back and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who netted a hat-trick on the opening day of the season, only makes the bench.
Twenty-year-old Ozkan Yildirim is the surprise starter for the visitors tonight. He will begin the game from the left meaning Elijero Elia must begin the game from the bench. It will be interesting to see how Robin Dutt's choice plays out tonight.
Bremen are the only team in the Bundesliga yet to concede this season. While that may suggest a solid defence, they have only managed two goals at the other end. That would suggest it is going to be a rather tight game. Or will league leaders BVB prove too good for their visitors?
The teams are making their way out onto the pitch inside a typically raucous Signal Iduna Park. Looks to be a great crowd inside the stadium and they are generating the usual brilliant atmosphere. Must be a daunting prospect coming to face BVB here.
HALF TIME - Dortmund 0-0 Bremen: A flurry of chances at the end of the half will have Klopp thinking his side could possibly be ahead. Bremen are not without their dangers, though, so a tantalising second half awaits us in 15 minutes. Be sure to join me for it!
Welcome back! The second half is just a few short moments away now. Can BVB find a way through this stubborn Bremen defence or will Dutt's men hope to sneak their third consectuive 1-0 win this season? We are about to find out.
FULL TIME - Dortmund 1-0 Bremen: BVB maintain their 100 per cent record thanks to Lewandowski's goal. For Robin Dutt's men, meanwhile, their first goal conceded this season leads to their first defeat. It was a close game but the hosts shaded it due to their willingness to attack and test the opposing keeper.
Thank you so much for joining us tonight. My name is Tom Webber and it has been a pleasure to guide you through tonight's game. Have a great evening!
