And we're off! Arsenal get us underway, attacking from right to left.
Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of today's Champions League group stage game between Galatasaray and Arsenal. My name is Ben Cullimore and I will be keeping you up to date with all of the action from the Turk Telekom Arena.
Despite losing their opening game against Borussia Dortmund, it's been a good Champions League group stage campaign for Arsenal, who head into tonight's clash in second place in Group D and with a spot in the knockout round of the competition already confirmed. An impressive unbeaten run in Europe, which was extended to four games two weeks ago when the London side beat Dortmund 2-0 at the Emirates, means that Arsene Wenger's men sit just two points behind the group's German leaders going into their final game of the round, and a win tonight, coupled with a defeat for Dortmund against Anderlecht, would see Arsenal scrape through as the group's winners.
The last time these two sides met, Arsenal comfortably won 4-1, thanks largely to a splendid hat-trick from Danny Welbeck, and Galatasaray have failed to pick up a single Champions League point since then, leaving them bottom of the group with just one point. After a torrid campaign in which they have constantly looked out of their depth, the Turkish side are one of only four teams yet to pick up a victory in the Champions League this season, so, with only their pride left to play for, that is certainly one record that boss Hamza Hamzaoglu will be looking to break this evening.
There's just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let's have a look at how the two teams will be lining up tonight…
Galatasaray XI (4-4-2): Bolat; Camdal, Kaya, Balta, Telles; Bruma, Melo, Colak, Sneijder; Bulut, Yilmaz.
Galatasaray substitutes: Altintop, Iscan, Ozcal, Oztekin, Adin, Sari, Kurtulus.
Arsenal XI (4-2-3-1): Szczesny; Debuchy, Mertesacker, Chambers, Bellerin; Ramsey, Flamini; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Campbell, Podolski; Sanogo.
Arsenal substitutes: Martinez, O'Connor, Maitland-Niles, Zelalem, Kamara, Iwobi, Akpom.
Hamza Hamzaoglu has made made four changes to the Galatasaray side that started the 2-0 defeat against Anderlecht two weeks ago, with Sinan Bolat, Hakan Balta, Emre Colak and Umut Bulut all coming into the starting lineup to replace Fernando Muslera, Aurelien Chedjou, Selcuk Inan and Hamit Altintop, respectively.
Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has made six changes to the side that won 2-0 against Borussia Dortmund in their last Champions League outing, with Damian Martinez, Kieran Gibbs, Nacho Monreal, Mikel Arteta, Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez all dropping out to be replaced by Wojciech Szczesny, Mathieu Debuchy, Hector Bellerin, Mathieu Flamini, Joel Campbell and Lukas Podolski.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: GALATASARAY 0-3 ARSENAL
What a fantastic opening 45 minutes that was for Arsenal, who head into the half-time break with a well-deserved 3-0 lead after running rings around Galatasaray from start to finish. Ramsey and Oxlade-Chamberlain have been sublime, whilst the visitors' well-organised and well-disciplined back four have held firm to keep the hosts at bay whenever they have had the chance to push forward. If things stay this way, Arsenal could easily end up bagging themselves another three goals in the second half.
The two teams are making their way back out onto the pitch, with just a few moments to go until the start of the second half. Both sides have made two substitutions each at half-time.
FULL-TIME: GALATASARAY 1-4 ARSENAL
Arsenal finish their Champions League group stage campaign on a high with an emphatic, and well-deserved, 4-1 victory. They were incredibly impressive when pushing forward, causing the Galatasaray back line plenty of problems, particularly in the first half, and were just as good at the back, with Mertesacker and Chambers putting in strong shifts in the centre of a great defensive line. It looked as if they weren't going to be beaten, but Sneijder pulled a goal back for the hosts with just a few minutes left to play. It was too little too late however, and, as a result, Galatasaray finish at the bottom of Group D with just one point.
Despite the win, Arsenal progress to the knockout round of the competition in second place as a result of Borussia Dortmund's 1-1 draw against Anderlecht this evening, meaning that the German club finish at the top of the group, albeit equal on points with the North London side.
My name is Ben Cullimore and it's been an absolute pleasure describing all of the action to you tonight. Until next time, goodbye!
