C. Sánchez gets a second yellow card and is sent off.

Penalty goal scored by Cristiano Ronaldo for Real Madrid!
GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAL FOR REAL MADRID!!! RONALDO DISPATCHES THE PENALTY! 2-1! INCREDIBLE SCENES!
Well folks, replays show that that was NEVER a penalty kick! If anything, it was a free kick to Elche! Shocker from the referee, and Real Madrid are gifted the victory!
90' +5
C. Sánchez gets yellow.
Rubén Pérez gets yellow.
Edu Albácar gets yellow.
90' +4
Manu Herrera gets yellow.
90' +3
PENALTY TO REAL MADRID!!! THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!! CARLOS SANCHEZ APPEARS TO HAUL DOWN PEPE INSIDE THE AREA!!
90' +1
R. Boakye has scored a goal for Elche! Assist by Fidel.
Fidel breaks in behind the Madrid defence and lofts a superb cross to the back post, and Boakye is their to bullet a header into the bottom corner!!! The crowd go WILD! 1-1!
GOOOOOAAAAAAAL!!! GOOOOAAAAAALL!!!!! GOOOOAAAAAAAAALLL FOR ELCHE!!! THEY HAVE DONE IT!!
90'
Elche with a late corner kick here, and the crowd sense it's their last chance!
89'
Álvaro Morata enters the game and replaces Á. Di María.
88'
Limp attempt at goal from Benzema. The Frenchman links up nicely on the edge of the box with Ronaldo and then attempts to curl a strike into the top right corner. However, he has no backlift and the ball easily finds it's way into the hands of Herrera.
87'
Fidel gets yellow.

Description
86'
This will be a slightly nervy last few minutes of Madrid here. But they are looking to add some legs up top as they introduce Alvaro Morata in place if Di Maria.
84'
NIGUEEEEZZZZ!!! What an introduction that would have been! The former Rangers man, who is just on the park a couple of minutes, rifles a super shot towards the top corner, but it just rises at the last minute and goes over the bar! Diego Lopez was BEATEN!
82'
Last change of the match from Elche as Coro is replaced by Aaron Niguez.
81'
Aarón Níguez enters the game and replaces Coro.
Dani Carvajal enters the game and replaces L. Modrić.
BOAKYE!!! UNLUCKY!! The substitute shifts the ball on to his right foot on the edge of the box and fizzes a strike towards the bottom left corner. Diego Lopez was scrambling across but the attempt crashes into the side-netting!
79'
Another change from Real Madrid here as Dani Carvajal enters the fray in place of Luka Modric. Is this Los Blancos shutting up shop here?
77'
You get the feeling that there's another goal in this game here. It's only really a pretty lucky goal from Ronaldo that is the difference between the teams at the moment, which Elche will feel aggrieved at.
76'
Cristiano Ronaldo gets yellow.
75'
A daft booking for Ronaldo here as he receives a yellow for taking a quick free kick without the referee's permission. Come on ref, let the play go on!
74'
Carles Gil displays some trickery down the left flank but is doubled up upon by Arbeloa and Illarramendia, which eventually sees him lose the ball. He was bright in the first period, but has drifted out of the match.
72'
Ronaldo bursts forward through the middle and, instead of shooting with a decent view of goal, reverses a pass to the inside-left channel for Modric. The Croatian skips ahead with a couple of touches but his eventual cross inside floats out for a goal kick.
70'
Illarramendi enters the game and replaces Isco.
First change of the match from Carlo Ancelotti as Isco is replaced by Asier Illarramendi. That will signal Modric moving slightly further forward behind Benzema.
68'
BOAKYEEE!!!! The Ghanian gets on the end of a cross to the back post, but can only find the side-netting with his volley!! Lucky for him, he is later flagged as offside. He wasn't to know that though!
66'
Boakye looks to utilise his pace down the right-hand side but is thwarted by a superb challenge by the retreating Luka Modric. The Croatian picks himself up and fizzes a pass out to the right-back position.
64'
Elche will still think that they are in this game. Madrid may have taken an early first half lead, but they have barely built upon on it. Benzema in particular looking extremely quiet up top.
62'
R. Boakye enters the game and replaces Javi Márquez.
A couple of pretty positive changes from Fran Escriba there. Those two will add some legs in the final third for the Segunda champions.
61'
They quickly follow that with another substitution as Javi Marquez is withdrawn for on-loan Juventus man, Richmond Boakye. He's a bright prospect this lad.
60'
Coro gets yellow.
First change of the match comes from Elche as Manu del Moral comes off to be replaced by Fidel.
59'
Fidel enters the game and replaces Manu del Moral.
58'
D. Suárez gets yellow.
I think the ref got that one right!
57'
DAMIEN SUAREZ GOES DOWN INSIDE THE AREA! The right-back goes on a marauding run into the box and goes down under the challenge of Khedira but the referee brings play back and books him for diving!
55'
It's all getting pretty heated out. A spat over a free kick has saw a number of Elche and Madrid players surround the ref. Fair play to the official though, as he doesn't do anything rash and allows the situation to calm down.
53'
That goal was a bit of a hammer blow to the hosts. To concede so early and so cheaply after putting in such a determined performance in the first half will surely be detrimental to them.
51'
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a goal for Real Madrid!
GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAL FOR REAL MADRID!!! Ronaldo steps up and smashes the free kick towards goal! It squeezes through the wall then squeezes through the arms of Herrera! 1-0 Madrid!
50'
Free kick to Madrid on the edge of the box as Ronaldo goes down rather easily. This is definitely in his territory.
48'
Early pressure from Madrid here. Ronaldo slips Benzema down the left and the former Lyon man looks to trick his way inside. The ball comes off an Elche leg though and goes out for a corner.
46'
The second half is under way!
45'
Daft challenge from Javi Marquez as he goes in very late on Sergio Ramos down the right. Madrid with the chance to get a very late first half goal here. Let's see what they can make from this.
43'
Isco whips a cross to the back post and Khedira gets on the end of it. However, his header only puts the ball straight up into the air, which allows Elche to get it out of the danger area.
42'
Free kick to Real Madrid on the right-hand side as Lomban takes out Benzema from behind. A chance for Isco to get a good ball in here.
40'
DI MARIAAAA! Another save by Herrera! Modric floats a lovely pass over the top of the defence for the Argentine, who stops the ball dead before smashing an attempt across goal, but the Elche 'keeper was there to get his body behind it!
38'
Ronaldo is cutting a pretty frustrated figure out there, he hasn't seen too much of the ball.
37'
Madrid counterattack at pace, though. Isco gallops forward down the middle and slides a ball out wide to Benzema, but the Frenchman's final ball into the box is poor and Herrera manages to collect.
36'
Some really nice play from Elche at the moment. The hosts are confidently distributing the ball out the park and look good for their possession. Madrid very much sitting back.
34'
Botía gets yellow.
If Ramos hadn't been booked earlier in the half, he definitely would have went into the book for that one.
33'
Sergio Ramos is a lucky, LUCKY man! He goes in very late on Coro but the referee opts not to brandish a second yellow card. Instead, Botia is booked for his protests!
31'
Elche allow Real Madrid to breach their backline as Coentrao bursts through down the left-hand side. Luckily for the Segunda champions, the Portuguese was flagged as offside.
29'
Pretty daft from Sanchez in the middle of the park. The Colombian opted to attempt a few keepy-uppies inside the centre circle, and was dispossessed by Modric. Maybe not the best course of action when playing against Real Madrid.
27'
JAVI MARQUEZ MISSES A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY! Real Madrid make a hash of a clearance and send the ball straight up into the air. The Elche man meets it 12 yards out but bounces his attempt over the crossbar!
25'
It's been an entertaining opening 25 minutes here in Elche. Both sides looking dangerous, particularly on the counterattack.
23'
Ladies and gentleman, I'm stunned. Cristiano Ronaldo just had a free kick close to goal and opted not to have a crack at goal. First time for everything!
22'
Sergio Ramos with the header!!! Ronaldo feigns to shoot from a free kick and instead dinks a cross to the back post. The Madrid captain bullets an attempt towards goal, but it's saved by Herrera. He was flagged as offside anyway, decent move though!
20'
Poor final ball from Arbeloa! Ronaldo threads a pass through for his team-mate in the inside-right channel but his pass into the area is easily intercepted. Benzema looks frustrated; he was totally unmarked!
18'
Javi Marquuueeeezzz!!! Decent attempt from range! The former Sevilla man picks up the ball 30 yards out and looks to smash a wicked strike towards the top bag. On this occasion though, his attempt goes just over the bar.
16'
Lovely play from Isco! Madrid's summer signing shows superb trickery on the edge of the box before bursting to the byline and standing a cross up to the back post. Elche manage to scramble the ball clear, though!
14'
ANOTHER SUPERB SAVE FROM LOPEZ!! Javi Marquez latches on to a floated pass over the top of the Madrid defence and takes an assured first touch before lashing a strike towards the bottom corner. The former Villarreal goalkeeper is once again positioned perfectly to make the stop, though.
12'
RONALDOOOOO!!!! What a goal that would have been! The Portuguese picks up possession 30 yards from goal and rifles a strike towards Herrerra. It certainly had pace and dip but it just lacked a little direction as it fizzed past the post.
10'
LOMBAAAAAAN!!!! GREAT SAVE FROM LOPEZ!! The Elche defender rises high from a free kick and glances a header towards goal! It looks destined to nestle in the corner but the Madrid 'keeper got across goal to palm the attempt away!
9'
Sergio Ramos gets yellow.
Another player goes into the book quickly and its, perhaps predictably, Sergio Ramos. The Real Madrid man checked the run of Ruben Perez after he was hounded down for possession. The home fans are shouting for him to be sent off, but that would have been harsh.
8'
First booking of the match comes early doors and it's for Manu del Moral as the on-loan Sevilla man goes in late on Di Maria. Bit harsh for an early yellow card.
7'
Manu del Moral gets yellow.
6'
Some lovely play on the edge of the box from Madrid sees Elche force the ball back the 'keeper. Di Maria hunts down the backpass but Herrera is quick off his line to fire the ball up the park.
5'
Edu Albacar wins the ball bravely in midfield and looks to pick out his team-mate on the right-hand side, but his pass goes horribly wayward and Madrid get the throw-in.
3'
Isco whips in a couple of corner kicks into the box but Elche manage to deal with them relatively comfortably.
2'
RONALDOOOOO!!! THE PORTUGUESE THREATENS EARLY! He turns swiftly on the edge of the box and fires a left-footed strike at goal, but his effort deflects out for a corner kick.

We are under way!
Good evening folks, welcome to LIVE coverage of the Spanish Primera Division encounter between Elche and Real Madrid at Estadio Manuel Martinez Valero!
I'm Martin Macdonald, and I'll be covering the action tonight!
TEAM NEWS.
Real Madrid (4-2-3-1): Lopez; Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrao; Khedira, Modric; Ronaldo, Isco, Di Maria; Benzema.
This is Los Blancos' first trip to face Elche in 24 years. They can claim their fifth La Liga win of the season with the visit.
The last time Real faced Elche, they did the double over them with 3-1 and 4-2 victories in the 1988-89 top-flight campaign, and the capital club have only lost one of their last 10 meetings against the newly promoted side.
The Segunda champions of last season have not picked up a win in the Spanish Primera Division this season, and are languishing in the basement of La Liga at the moment.
This is Elche's first season in the top flight since 1989, and they'll be looking to make more of an impact.
Nothing is made of it as the ref blows for half time. A tense first half sees Elche and Real Madrid even at 0-0 at the break. The Segunda champions have arguably been the better team so far, and Ancelotti's side are lucky not to be down to 10-men as Sergio Ramos went in late on Coro. Join us in 15 minutes for the second period!
FULL TIME. Real Madrid are gifted three points in La Liga after being awarded a dramatic stoppage time penalty penalty. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring early in the second period with a free kick and Elche equalised late on through a Boakye header, but further drama was still in store as the referee gave a penalty for a non-foul on Pepe. Ronaldo dispatched the penalty, and luckily gained the win for Los Blancos. I'm Martin Macdonald, thanks for joining us, see you next time!
