Robben cuts in from the right and has his shot blocked before the referee blows the final whistle!
90' +1
Rafinha has slotted in well on Bayern's right since coming on. His passing has been impressive and he has showed a lot of intent to attack and run at Gladbach.
90'
Two minutes of additional time to be played at the Allianz Arena.
89'
A great interception from Jantschke! The full-back moves out to his right well to block Martinez's volleyed effort at the back post. The Spaniard has only been on the few moments and could well have got himself a goal had the Gladbach defender not been there.
86'
Dominguez, who has already conceded two penalties this evening, goes in exuberantly on Robben inside the area. He fails to connect with the ball but as the winger falls to the ground he falls on it and keeps it in play. The Spaniard then gets up and takes the ball away like he'd made a clean challenge, when in fact he was lucky not to concede another penalty.
85'
Javi Martínez enters the game and replaces T. Kroos.
L. de Jong enters the game and replaces C. Kramer.
84'
Raffael looks to turn and run at the Bayern defence as he picks the ball up by the half way line. He knocks it past Kirchhoff and rather than let him go the midfielder tugs the Brazilian to the ground to conced a free kick.
83'
M. Mandžukić gets yellow.
81'
Younes shows his fancy footwork coming in from the left flank but he cannot quite match his counterpart, Ribery, as he sends his low cross straight to a red shirt inside the penalty area.
79'
A corner from Kruse finds a white shirt at the back post but they are unable to direct their header at Neuer's goal. Bayern break at speed but they eventually lose momentum and play the ball back to their defence.
Minute
Description
77'
Rafinha enters the game and replaces T. Müller.
76'
Well, Bayern almost have three points in the bag now. At times in the second half it has looked as though Gladbach would be capable of steeling something but Alaba's penalty has practically ended their hopes of a comeback.
73'
J. Kirchhoff enters the game and replaces B. Schweinsteiger.
Schweinsteiger makes way for Kirchhoff now. The Germany international has played very deep this evening, at times almost as a defender when Alaba and Lahm were pushing on. Not one of his most effective perfomances in the final third.
71'
A. Younes enters the game and replaces J. Arango.
A couple of changes from Lucien Favre as he looks to add some fresh legs to his side who have grown increasingly fatigued in this second half.
70'
B. Hrgota enters the game and replaces P. Herrmann.
69'
Penalty goal scored by D. Alaba for Bayern Munich!
GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!! Alaba shows Muller how it's done by coolly slotting home from 12 yards out. Bayern lead 3-1. At the second attempt!
68'
Álvaro Domínguez gets yellow.
Penalty saved by M. ter Stegen!
IT'S ANOTHER PENALTY! AND IT'S DOMINGUEZ AGAIN! He's only gone and committed a second handball just seconds after his first indiscretion. I've never seen anything so ridiculous.
Muller steps up to take the penalty ... and it's SAVED brilliantly by ter Stegen. Stunning stop from the Gladbach from the goalkeeper. But what's this? The linesman's flag is up again!
67'
Penalty to Bayern! A handball from Dominguez after a touch by Muller sees the referee point to the spot.
66'
Schweinsteiger is finally starting to move forward a bit more having sat extremely deep for the first 60 minutes. He sends a ball out wide to Ribery but his pass to Robben is poorly controlled by the Dutchman and goes out for a goal kick.
64'
The synergy between Alaba and Ribery is brilliant to watch, but Gladbach are doing well to keep them contained for the moment. With the mood the Frenchman is in, though, you suspect he could produce something spectacular at any moment.
62'
There has been a lot less from Herrmann in the second half. The pacey wide man was key to Gladbach's most-threatening moments in the first half but he has been forced back to help protect his team against the irrepressible Ribery.
60'
OFF THE POST!! The ball is rolled back to Kroos, 20 yards from goal, and the midfield looks to bend a controlled effort into the bottom corner. He puts it out of the reach of Ter Stegen but the keeper is rescued by his post!
59'
Just as I say that Bayern counter and they outnumber the Gladbach defenders. Robben cuts the ball back from wide on the right but Muller's effort is blocked en route to goal. This is exhilarating stuff!
58'
Bayern are undefeated in 11 of their last 12 home games against Gladbach in all competitions. The Foals are taking the game to their hosts now that and could find themselves in a great position to steal a point here.
56'
GREAT STRIKE FROM KRUSE! The striker is picking the ball up in deep areas and looking to test the Bayern keeper here. A brilliant out-swinging strike is heading for the corner but Neuer stretches across his goal and palms the ball away.
54'
M. Stranzl gets yellow.
Stranzl put in a brilliant challenge on Ribery moments ago but that one was nowhere near as measured. The Frenchman completely outdid him for pace and was brought tumbling to the ground by the defender. Kroos is unable to test Ter Stegen from the subsequent free kick.
53'
I'm running out of superlatives for Ribery here! Just utterly sumptuous play out on the left as he dribbles in from the left, darting along the byeline and keeping the ball completely under control. He fires the ball into the goal mouth but it is Ter Stegen who gets to it first and deflects it away.
51'
Robben turns brilliantly inside the area to create a yard of space with his back to goal. He spins and sends an attempt towards the goal but a deflection off of Dominguez takes the pace of the ball and enables Ter Stegen to collect.
48'
That is how you deal with Ribery! Stranzl stands the Frenchman up as he sprints at him with the ball. The Austrian bides his time before putting a foot in and cleanly taking possession away from the Bayern player. Great defending.
47'
WHAT A CHANCE!! Gladbach counter to great effect as Arango carries the ball forward before slipping a pass out to his left for Daems. The defender cuts it back to the penalty spot but the shot at goal from Kruse that followed looked to be blocked by Raffael!
46'
Here we go! The second 45 minutes have started. Will Gladbach find a route back into this or will Bayern push to close the win? Lets find out.
45' +1
The half-time whistle goes.
45'
A great low strike from Arango almost sneaks inside the post but Neuer refuses to see his team go in level and makes an important save.
44'
ANOTHER STOP FROM TER STEGEN! The keeper shows great reactions to keep out Manduzkic's header from a Robben corner. His initial stop loops up into the air but he does brilliantly to catch it at the second attempt under pressure from the Croatian.
43'
SUPER SAVE!! Ribery again cutting in from the left is the source of the danger, but this time he plays the ball inside to Kroos. The midfielder thumps a first-time effort at goal that looks destined for the top corner but Ter Stegen dives to his left and tips it over the bar. Sublime goalkeeping.
41'
C. Kramer gets yellow.
40'
Dante is unfortunate, scores an own goal!
GOOOOAALLL! Daems feeds the ball to Arango down the left and the South American plays a low cross into the area. There is a clear lack of communication as Dante stretches a foot out for the ball as Neuer comes out and inadvertently dinks it other his keeper and into the net. An own goal against his former club!
39'
Brilliant tackle from Dominguez! The Spaniard times his challenge perfectly to take the ball away from Robben inside the penalty area after Ribery had released him with a delightful flick. It is all last-ditch stuff for Gladbach here, though.
38'
Ribery slips a pass in for Mandzukic to add the finish but Daems reads it well and manages to get a toe to the ball. Ter Stegen clears away the danger and will hope his defence can try to close those spaces in the channels.
36'
Dante and Boateng seem to be coping comfortably when Gladbach send a long ball forward. Favre's men will need to avoid repeating that too much as they will only hand possession straight to the opposition.
34'
What a strike! Ribery goes straight up the other end and lashes a ferocious strike at Ter Stegen's goal. It is swerving all over the place and the keeper is clearly uncertain as to where it will go. The ball keeps rising and ends up sailing just over the bar, but that would have been some goal.
33'
All credit to Ribery for getting back to help his team defend but he almost gifts Gladbach a goal as he allows himself to be outmuscled by Jantschke inside his own area. Fortunately for him Neuer races out to collect the ball.
32'
Bayern are getting a number of crosses into the area this evening and it takes a powerful header from Dominguez to stop Kroos' delivery from finding Mandzukic at the back post. There is definitely more goals in this one. What a start it has been!
30'
AMAZING SAVE!! Herrmann's cross finds Raffael at the back post and the Brazilian nods it down for Kruse. The striker shows immense technique to bring the ball under control and turn before firing a low at goal. He is denied a quality goal as Neuer gets down and gets a strong hand to keep his effort out.
28'
There is some lovely football on show tonight. Ribery is forced in field and plays the ball back to Kroos who then switches the play to Robben on the right. The ball is eventually worked back to Lahm but the right-back's cross is too high even for Mandzukic to get a head on it!
26'
Gladbach manage to knock a few passes around in the Bayern half but a stray ball entering the pitch causes the referee to halt play. He hands possession straight back to the visitors who have to knock it back and are unable to build a similarly impressive move from the back.
24'
What a chance! Gladbach could have pulled one back there had Raffael found either one of the corners, but instead he fired Herrmann's cutback straight down the middle. Neuer is not going to let those into his net any time soon.
23'
THAT IS EXQUISITE!! Ribery displays unbelievable skill and agility to beat no less than three Gladbach players as he cuts in from the left. He races to the byeline and drills a cross into the area but Ter Stegen just about manages to gather it before Robben can add a simple finish.
21'
A crunching challenge from Xhaka leaves Schweinsteiger on the floor just outside of Neuer's area. The referee gives the Swiss a talking to but lets him off without a card, which could so easily have been given on another day.
20'
The Bayern full-backs are tucking in when high up the pitch which means that Gladbach ,when penned back in their final third, are finding themselves outnumbered all across the pitch.
18'
What a miss from Raffael! The Gladbach forward is the man over on the left of the area as his team move up the pitch but he fails to hit the target. A wasted opportunity for the Foals.
16'
M. Mandžukić has scored a goal for Bayern Munich!
GOOOOAALLL!! Mandzukic makes it two! The Croatian was clearly offside from Robben's free kick on the right but it was Ribery who ran in to turn the cross on goal. The subsequent rebound was swept home by the striker and is allowed to stand. Controversial, but Bayern are two goals to the good!
15'
There was an awful clearance from Ter Stegen in the build-up to the goal which he will surely be kicking himself about right now. The keeper handed possession straight to the opposition and they paid the ultimate price. They will need to stop Bayern from gaining momentum here or they could face another 5-1 thrashing.
12'
A. Robben has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by F. Ribéry.
GOOOOAAALLL!! Robben gets the first goal of Guardiola's reign! A wonderful ball over the top from Ribery is met by the Dutchman who loops an effort past Ter Stegen to give die Roten the lead. A lovely finish.
10'
A loose pass at the back from Schweinsteiger is picked up by Kramer, who reads the play well to take over possession. He carries it forward and plumps for goal from distance, only to see his effort deflect harmlessly high over Neuer's goal.
8'
Another good move down the right from die Roten as Lahm spins Arango on the half-way line and charges forward. He slips a pass outside to Robben but the Dutchman fails to match his team-mates quality as he slices his cross into the advertising hoardings. Still, Gladbach are looking vulnerable down that flank.
6'
Robben has looked lively out on the right in the early stages. This time he glides past Arango's weak attempt at a challenge and drills a cross into the area. It does not give much time for his team-mates to alter their runs and Ter Stegen leaves his line to bring the ball under his control.
5'
Vital clearance from Jantschke! Lahm's cross is controlled with the chest by Muller and he manages to loop it over the defender. The ball takes an awkward bounce which enables the right-back to come across and send the ball behind for a corner before the Bayern man can get a shot away.
3'
A free kick wide on the left for Gladbach is swung in by Raffael. It heads for the near post but Alaba gets a touch on it to deflect the ball behind for a corner, of which the visitors fail to make anything. They clearly are not afraid to push numbers forward when the get in possession.
2'
There has been a lot of speculation as to why sort of style Guardiola will have this team playing and after Dante decides to launch a rather aimless long ball soon after kick off. You get the feeling there will not be too much more of that as the season goes on, though!

We are under way at the Allianz Arena!
Hello and welcome to Goal's LIVE text commentary of tonight's Bundesliga curtain-raiser between reigning champions Bayern Munich and Borussia Monchengladbach at the Allianz Arena. My name is Tom Webber and I will be your guide through this evening's action. Lets hope that the new Bundesliga season begins with a bang!
It is Pep Guardiola's first competitive game in charge of his new club and they face a Gladbach team who will be aiming to end the season with a place in Europe secured. So, who has the Spaniard selected for his Bundesliga debut? Here is how the teams shape up...
Gladbach bench: Wendt, Korb, Hrgota, Heimeroth, Nordtveit, Younes, L. de Jong.
The most notable absences from the Bavarians' squad this evening are those of Mario Gotze and Thiago. The former is still short of match fitness while the Spanish midfielder is kept out due to a knock. Luiz Gustavo is also unavailable for selection and could well be on his way out of the club before the transfer window closes due to interest from Wolfsburg.
Meanwhile, Lucien Favre has a full squad to choose from tonight and has opted for Filip Daems at left-back ahead of Oscar Wendt, who takes his place on the bench. Luuk de Jong also starts among the substitutes with new signing Max Kruse starting in attack.
These two teams met during their pre-season preparations and tonight's visitors took a real drubbing. They will hope to avoid a repeat result of the 5-1 thrashing they received in July, this evening.
We've been treated to some pretty nifty footwork before the game with a collection of breakdancing youngsters entertaining the crowd. Only a few moments to go now until the real action begins, though.
A few words from the Bundesliga president before kick off. A few whistles as the crowd are keen for the match to get underway and it is understandable. The excitement is palpable.
Here they come! A bit belatedly the teams make their way out onto the pitch. Guardiola follows some way behind his team; effortlessly cool and suave.
Pre-match formalities over, it is time for kick off!
HALF TIME: Bayern 2-1 Gladbach - Wow. What an opening 45 minutes of this Bundesliga season! Two early goals from Robben and Mandzukic gave die Roten the lead but an own goal from Dante will give the visitors hope of rescuing a result in the second half. Lets hope there is more of the same when the teams return in 15 minutes for the second half. Be sure to join me for that!
Welcome back. The players are out and the second half is about to get under way!
FULL TIME: Bayern 3-1 Gladbach - Pep Guardiola's competitive debut ends in victory following a truly brilliant game at the Allianz Arena. Goals from Robben, Mandzukic and Alaba ensure that die Roten begin their Bundesliga title defence with three points.
That is it from me, Tom Webber, for this evening. It has been an absolute pleasure to guide you through tonight's action. Enjoy the rest of your Friday night!
