This is end-to-end stuff here!! Suarez whips a cross into the box and Casillas just manages to get off his line to punch the ball to safety!!!
90'
Uruguay have been buoyed by that goal. Well, they have took 88 minutes to get into the match, but they are looking dangerous now. Surely after Spain's dominance the South Americans can't claim a point here?
88'
L. Suárez has scored a goal for Uruguay!
GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAL FOR URUGUAY!! MARVELOUS FROM SUAREZ!! The Liverpool man steps up and curls a perfect free kick into the top left corner! Casillas had no chance! 2-1! Are we in for a grandstand finish here?!
87'
Free kick to Uruguay in a great position here. Luis Suarez will take. Let's see if they can make anything from this.
85'
Spain just running the clock down here with short, stabbing passes. Uruguay gave up on the match long ago, and La Roja have seen out the match with relative ease.
83'
Martin Langer: "The fans have completely lost interest in the match and started to cheer for their local league teams, Sport, Náutico and Santa Cruz!"
81'
Mata enters the game and replaces Pedro.
It may just be precautionary, but Pedro is going to be withdrawn. Juan Mata is the man introduced to the play. Spain's substitutes bench really is sensational.
80'
A small break in play at the moment as Pedro is currently down injured. It looked an innocuous one, but it looks like he's going to be okay. It may just be cramp. They wouldn't want him to get injured, he's been in cracking form for his country this season.
79'
Really poor from Uruguay. Lugano has the opportunity to pick out a pass through the middle but instead over-hits a ball out to the right for Martin Caceres, who understandably looks frustrated.
77'
Javi Martínez enters the game and replaces Xavi.
Second substitution from Del Bosque. Champions League winner, Javi Martinez, is introduced in place of Xavi, who once again has been imperious this evening.

Description
75'
Uruguay must try and not give up here. If they can grab one goal then Spain may get nervous. It's a big ask, but they can still have an affect on this game here, especially with Suarez, Cavani, and Forlan in the ranks.
73'
It's all kicking off here! Ramos goes in two-footed on Lodeiro and the Uruguayans are demanding a red card! The referee shows composure to just issue the booking to the Madrid man! Welcome to the game, Nicolas Lodeiro!
72'
Horribly challenge from Arbeloa! The Spaniard goes in extremely late on Nicolas Lodeiro and catches the former Ajax man right on the top of the ankle. Poor, poor, tackle, and the Madrid man earns a yellow.
71'
Arbeloa gets yellow.
70'
Martin Langer elaborates on Forlan's reception: "Roaring ovation when the crowd sees Diego Forlán on the sidelines ready to enter the pitch. The veteran striker plays in Brazil and is one of the stars of the League with Internacional Porto Alegre"
69'
D. Forlán enters the game and replaces D. Pérez.
68'
Another brilliantly positive change from Uruguay. Midfielder, Diego Perez, is replaced by striker, Diego Forlan. The former Atletico Madrid man receives a warm reception as he enters the pitch, having starred in the Brazilian league this season.
66'
Almost for Uruguay!! Suarez steals possession in a dangerous area and bursts forward through the middle. He looks to send Cavani down the inside-right channel but a vital interception from Ramos wins the ball back for Spain!
65'
Santi Cazorla enters the game and replaces Cesc Fàbregas.
64'
Vicente Del Bosque follows suit and makes a switch of his own. Cesc Fabregas, who has been excellent tonight, makes his way off. Santi Cazorla is the man introduced. Not a bad sub to bring on.
63'
N. Lodeiro enters the game and replaces W. Gargano.
The South American side make their second change of the match. Walter Gargano is the man coming off, and he'll be replaced by Nicolas Lodeiro. A positive change from Uruguay!
61'
Boos are chorusing throughout the stadium at the moment as Spain just keep the ball without any pressure whatsoever. The fans want Uruguay to kick it up a gear!
59'
A superb stat for you now! Iker Casillas has now played 1000 minutes in a row at the World Cup, European Championships and the Confederations Cup, conceding only 1 goal.
57'
It seems there's a turn of the tide afoot in the stands. Martin Langer gives us an update from the match: "After supporting Uruguay in the first half, the Brazilian fans have surrendered to the fantastic play of the Spanish side. After a beautiful roulette by Iniesta, the crowd stood up to cheer the Barcelona man!"
56'
INIESTA!!! What a goal that would have been! The 29-year-old somehow wriggles away from challenges on the edge of the box before hitting a left-footed strike at goal. He just drags the shot wide, but Muslera was certainly beat!
55'
This is like a training match at the moment. Sergio Ramos and Pique have the freedom of the pitch to pick out passes and they are coming under zero pressure at the back. Uruguay sitting far too deep.
53'
Cavani and Suarez just have not been able to stamp their authority on the match at all. We have seen a few fleeting moments of skill from the Liverpool man, but Casillas in the Spain goal has had a very quiet evening so far.
51'
Naughty challenge from Maxi Pereira. The Uruguay right-back is left for dead by Iniesta, and petulantly kicks out at the Spaniard. No yellow card though, rather surprisingly.
50'
Spain go within inches of making it three!!! Pedro latches on to a loose ball to the right of the box and lashes a teasing cross along the goal. Soldado stretches out to try and get a toe on it, but the ball evades everyone inside the box!
49'
Fabregas picks out Pedro with a glorious crossfield pass out to the right-hand side, but the Barca man is unceremoniously taken out by Martin Caceres. Spain get the free kick down the wing.
47'
A change to report at the break for Uruguay. Gaston Ramirez has been replaced by Lazio winger, Alvaro Gonzalez.
46'
Á. González enters the game and replaces G. Ramírez.
We are back under way in Recife!
44'
Really nice corner kick routine from Spain. Xavi takes it short to Iniesta, who whips a wicked cross to the back post. Ramos runs in behind but can't manage to divert his header back across goal.
42'
Xavi jinks past a couple of challenges before eventually succumbing to a bulldozing challenge from Maxi Pereira. The referee deems it a bit over the top, and awards Spain a free kick just inside the Uruguay half.
41'
D. Lugano gets yellow.
40'
The yellow cards are coming thick and fast now. Lugano is the latest player to go into the book for raising an arm on Soldado. The Valencia man made the most of that, never a booking.
38'
Great save from Muslera!! Xavi curls in a corner kick and Pique manages to get a shot away from just outside the six-yard box, but the Uruguayan instinctively beats the ball away from danger!
37'
Martin Langer gives us another update from the match, as Spain begin to dominate: "Every tournament, there is someone who suggest that Spain have lost their magic, that they are not the team that once were, and every time La Roja silences their critics with performances such as the one we are watching today at the Arena Pernambuco. Upon seeing this, I don't want to think what they are going to do to the poor Tahitians!"
36'
Piqué gets yellow.
35'
First booking of the match for Spain goes to Gerard Pique. The Barcelona defender was involved in a little hustle and bustle with Suarez, and gives away the free kick with a pull of the shirt.
34'
Spain are really turning on the style here, Uruguay look powerless to resist!
32'
Soldado has scored a goal for Spain! Assist by Cesc Fàbregas.
GOOOOOAAAAAL!! GOOOOAAAAAL!! GOOOOAAAALL!! Spain lead 2-0!! Fabregas drives forward through the middle and squeezes a gorgeous pass through the middle of the defence for Soldado, who lifts the ball into the top corner from 15 yards! Great move, great goal!
30'
CAVANI!!! Either side of Casillas and it's 1-1! A lovely set-piece from Uruguay sees the ball clipped up to the 26-year-old, who just manages to get a little glance at goal, but the Spain 'keeper gratefully collects!
29'
It's all getting very heated out there at the moment. Alba is the latest player to go down as he is caught in the face by Rodriguez. No booking for this one, though.
28'
First booking of the match goes to Cavani. The Napoli striker just lead with the arm as he went up for a header with Sergio Ramos. The Spain players want a red, but it was a deserved yellow.
27'
E. Cavani gets yellow.
XAVI!!! How close was that?! The Barcelona man steps up and curls a fantastic free kick over the Uruguay wall, but it doesn't dip in time and just goes over the bar! Really unlucky!
25'
Uruguay don't even look like scoring at the minute. Their star players; Suarez, Cavani, Ramirez, they just have not seen enough of the ball to make an impact. Still plenty of time left, though.
23'
A super point by Martin there. All this rainfall is simply playing into the hands of the Spaniards, who are distributing the ball with ease due to the slick surface.
22'
Martin Langer gives us his thoughts just as Spain take the lead: "As soon as Spain score, a small drizzle starts to fall in the Arena Pernambuco. Nothing could be better for Del Bosque's lads, who are completely dominating the game and now they get the pitch wet, exactly as they like it"
20'
Pedro has scored a goal for Spain!
Superb play from Fabregas. The former Arsenal man bursts a gut to get to the byline and earns a corner kick out of Maxi Pereira.
GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAL FOR SPAIN!!! A corner kick is cleared to the edge of the box and Pedro smashes a strike at goal! The ball cannons wickedly off Diego Lugano and past Muslera!! 1-0!
18'
Great defending from Diego Godin!! Alba runs on the overlap down the left-hand and lashes a cross to the front post. Soldado looks poised to divert a strike at goal but the Atletico Madrid man gets his body in the way to stop any opportunity!
17'
Dodgy goalkeeping from Muslera there!! Iniesta latches on to a loose ball on the edge of the box and whips a strike at goal, and the Galatasaray 'keeper needs two attempts to collect the ball!
15'
Cristian Rodriguez picks up the ball on the left wing, but instead of retaining possession he humps a ball up top to Cavani. Sergio Ramos wins the battle this time though, and Spain move forward again.
13'
It has been an enormously one-sided match so far. Vicent Del Bosque's men mean business tonight, and it looks like a matter of time before they find the net. Uruguay just have not got going at all.
11'
FABREGAS!!! SPAIN ALMOST TAKE THE LEAD!! Iniesta dummies the ball on the edge of the box and the ball comes to his Barca team-mate, who rattles a strike off the bottom of the post! Uruguay let off the hook!
10'
Martin Langer, Goal Correspondent in Recife, gives us his thoughts on the opening 10 minutes: "Forget the "Maracanazo", the Brazilian fans are completely behind La Celeste! The chants of "Uruguay, Uruguay" are followed by loud "boos" every time the Spanish team passes the ball"
9'
Diego Perez does well to rob possession from Iniesta just inside the Uruguay half, but Spain brilliantly hunt him down to retrieve the ball. Fantastic work rate.
7'
Iniesta looks really up for this tonight! He's already went on a couple of majestic runs through the middle, and picked out a couple of superb passes. Be aware, Uruguay!
6'
Superb cross from Alba! The Barcelona man goes on a signature run down the left-hand side and whips a teasing cross to the back post, but Pedro can't make up the ground to take advantage of the chance!
5'
It's all go in the centre of the pitch at the moment. None of the action has took place in the final third for either team. Uruguay have barely seen any of the ball so far.
3'
Predictably, Spain set the early pace with Iniesta, Fabregas, and Xavi just creating little triangles in the middle of the park. Uruguay seem happy to let them have possession in the early stages.
1'
We are under way in Recife!
I'm Martin Macdonald, and I'll be taking you through the action this evening!
The pre-match stats don't make particularly good reading for Uruguay fans!
Spain are unbeaten in their last 22 matches and have never lost to Uruguay in six previous encounters.
In contrast, Uruguay have just won one of their last seven competitive matches.
Martin Langer, Goal Correspondent in Recife, has just taken his seat, and here are his thoughts: "It is very hot and humid in the Arena Pernambuco. The fans are slowly but steadily filling it out and the ambiance is already amazing! Lots of yellow shirts but some few and very vocal Spanish fans as well!"
Martin will be providing us with his musings throughout the match from his perch inside the stadium.
Martin Langer gives us his thoughts on the playing surface tonight: "The pitch looks great despite the downpour that fell only a couple of hours before the match. It was very quick but quite a bit of rain, although, from up high, it will just save the stewards the effort of watering it before the start of the match"
You feel that the slick surface will benefit the Spaniards tonight! Certainly makes passing a lot easier.
The Confederations Cup is the tournament that got away for Spain. La Roja are current World and European Champions, but they will certainly be eager to add another title to their trophy cabinet!
The players have took to the field now, almost time for kick-off!
The national anthems sound out in the Arena Pernambuco to cheers from the fans! Cracking atmosphere in Recife tonight!
The Copa America winners also lost 3-1 to La Roja in a friendly in Qatar in February. Pedro netted twice and Cesc Fabregas scored to seal the win.
Half time in Recife. It's been a bit of a masterclass from Spain so far! Pedro fortuitously opened the scoring with a deflected goal from the edge of the box, and Soldado made it 2-0 with a fine finish inside the box after some wonderful work from Fabregas. Only one winner here at the moment, but Uruguay have the opportunity to pick themselves up at half time. Join us in 15 minutes for the second period!
Could not agree more, Spain have been sensational so far.
Martin Langer, muses over the first half: "The crowd is a bit shocked by what they have seen on the pitch in the first half. They knew Spain were the better side but expected to see some of the Garra Charrúa (Uruguayan spirit). After the final whistle, the stadium went eerily quiet, like if they couldn't believe the fantastic show they have seen so far"
